In the Kotaku article (link on the main page), he talks about his "Lucky" leather pants and how switching them out drained his Luck. To me, this sounds like a find-more-gold/mf combination into one stat! MF is back, people!
They even showed us a armor with +XP rating in blizzcast. Everything is possible.
THAT WOULD BE AWESOMESZZZzzz

I think its almost certain that that would be gold / MF. because quite honestly what else could it be.... MAYBE hit rate but thats pretty far fetched to me...

There are several things you can do with a luck stat. Think on Morrowind/Oblivion, it has a small impact on every action, but not so much that you'd want to go out of your way to boost the crap out it. Blizz may have pulled a play out of Bethesda's book and made luck have small impacts on hit, damage, defense etc. But I doubt that, it probably is something along the lines of gold find / MF
Well luck could mean many diffrent things. Like maybe it means survival luck. Your low on health and that mosnter "luckily" stalls and lets you kill it to get that health orb you want. Something along those lines perhaps but thats just a guess and my guesses dont count for anything and there skipped over by the majority of the people who read it

Then why would he say the new pants drained his luck but gave him more armor? If it were like you're suggesting, when he's talking details, he'd have said he got some more armor but he found less gold.
I don't say when switching from Griswold's Edge to BotD that I have less Griswold but more damage.
I don't think he was being sarcastic at all, I played a game (MMO) called 12sky for a while back where they had this type of thing.
Luck increased your chance of getting magic (and rare, etc) drops, of succesfully enchanting a weapon, and maybe other stuff, I'll not get into the details.
I think his talking about that item comprison in the item window. It not only shows the unequiped and the equiped items but the difference between their stats.

And like marked pages in a diary
Everything seemed clean that is unstained
The incoherent talk of ordinary days

Decide what is clear and what's within a haze
What you should take and what to give" - Opeth

Hahah. lol
I'd feel bad for that Fallen.

I feel like he might have been a bit more obvious with his sarcasm if those were his intentions. Still goin' with gold/mf.
Here, when I wrote an entire report on the article.
Fair enough

It's a stat only given by gear.
