Full Set Bonuses:
Ability to become Invulnerable for 20 seconds. (Has a cool-down time of at least 3 minutes.)
The reason for this as a bonus is it is in the book that Uldyssian fought Lilith in her demon form, she couldn't leave a scratch on him during the struggle.
Partial Set Bonuses:
+30 to Energy
This is because he seemed to always have more energy than anybody else.
This set needs improvement, I know, but I would like some help in deciding these.
I like the enthusiasm, but I think these sort of stats are a bit off for the set. And Uldyssian never wore armor from what I remember, maybe I need to reread the books. Invulnerability is a bit much, maybe a random 10 sec rapid regeneration and power. I'd give him some strength since he likes to melee, alot more energy since he's pretty goddamn powerful too.
Even if he never wore armor, it could be armor that he created for one of his favoured champions, or a particularaly righteous paladin.
I like the idea of a rapid regeneration power, not as imbalanced as the invulnerability, yet still good enough to provide some kind of defensive bonus.
I'd say regenerate 10% max health every second, for 10 seconds.
Maybe even a temporary 25% damage reduction should also be in affect with this skill, to serve as an extra cushion against damage while you're regenerating.
Should definitely have a large-ish cooldown though, I'd say 45 seconds or so.

Umm, maybe a set based on one of the playable classes from the previous games? Everyone seems to like to necromancer, so if they aren't bringing him back, maybe have a set based off of him. It can give +Life for summons, or +Damage for Poison skills or Increased effectiveness for Curses. This would ofcourse be for the Witch Doctor. Or a set based off one of the other classes.

Well, considering he kinda, uhh, blew up, I don't see him making armor for anyone
That is actually not a bad regen rate considering the character, but I'd regenerate his mana and give him a damage bonus of like %40 more for those ten seconds. Again though, I'd like them at random moments so you can't plan it. It adds a bit more fun to the game, and keeps people from using it when they really need it. Then when your about to die in a boss battle and it pops on, you get that good feeling of your character giving that extra push to destroy the monster. Know what I mean?

I never read those books, so I'm a bit behind on his lore :(.
He could've made the armor for kicks and kept it in his locker, or something :/.
Maybe Tyrael found it when they were cleaning out his shit.
But anywho.
Actually, thats a good idea. Adding those 2 extra mods would make it into and overall great heavy-combat skill to employ.
Perhaps when casting it, the skill could have a 50% chance of failure, and a 50% chance of success ?
Or, alternatively, a 50% chance to regenerate health, and a 50% chance to regen mana ?
Would still help out the character, just maybe not in the way that they need.

Lmao, Grizual ?
You mean Griswold... or Izual Oo ?
I suppose they could have morphed together all power-ranger style ^^.
Anyways, I like your set ideas man. Would be interesting to see how each monster set was handled :D.
The wandering soul one in particular would look pretty neat. I got a visual of the set giving off wispy bits of energy when the entire set was equipped, much how the Wandering Souls appeared in the game.

Hmmmm, I never really though of Adria having a set. I guess I've never viewed her as a warrior type of character, just some mysterious old witch. Maybe the set would be something she had enchanted but not actually used?
An Elsix set would be cool though, there aren't enough bandit/thief types of sets out there I think.
This idea really works better with D2, but I thought I'd post it anyway.
Habacalva is the sorceress who single-handedly turned the tide of a war "with a single casting of meteor". Or it might of been Hepsheeba; either way, my manuals are but long gone.
My set not only would cater to one character, but also a specific skill tree. In this case, fire skills for the sorceress. Habacalva's (or maybe it's Hepsheeba. either way, I'll just reference Haba from now on, they both used fire skills anyhow) gear helped boost her fire skills and uber-boosted her meteor spell, which in turn helped her side win this war she became famous for. The gear was stolen from the shrine it rested in and we can now only assume that it is scattered across all of Sanctuary.
Or perhaps the pieces lay on some young intrepid travelers back. Either way, the Zan Esu will reward the one who can piece the set together and return it to it's rightful home. Or it can stay with you and help you rain certain celestial death on those who oppose u.
Habacalva's Burning Crusade (betcha Blizz'll love that one)
Equipment, stats, and bonuses are as follows:
Habacalva's Burning Cradle Shako:
+1 to fire skill tree
+25 all resist
+10% fire skill dmg
+10 to str, dext, and vit
+45 to energy
Habacalva's Burning Forge Archon Plate:
+1 to fire skill tree
+defense (based on char lvl) (2.5 def per lvl)
+30% faster hit recovery
+10% fire skill dmg
+3 to fire mastery
+3 to meteor
+1-2 to fireball
+1-2 to fire bolt
Habacalva's Burning Ring Ring:
+10% to fire skill dmg
+10% faster cast rate
+30% resist to psn, cold and lightning
+65% resist to fire
+increase max mana by 40%
Habacalva's Burning Intent Dimensional Shard:
+2 to fire skill tree
+25% faster cast rate
+15% to fire skill dmg
-35% to enemy fire resistance
+ adds 2 to phys dmg (lol)
Two-piece bonus:
+10% fire skill dmg
+2 to meteor
-5% to fire resist
Three-piece bonus:
+15% fire skill dmg
+3 to meteor
-10% to fire resist
Full set:
+20% to fire skill dmg
+4 to meteor
-15% to fire resist
Sorry for the multi-posts guys, I'm really into this. Anyway, does anyone think it's overpowered\underpowered? Explain?
This set is designed to INCINERATE the opposition with heat akin to the blazing sun, and also provides good resists and mana bonuses; albeit it lacks most other desirable stat bonuses. In my oppinion, it isn't at it's best until you find the orb, obviously the hardest to find, because you can only ever pierce 10% of fire resists with the other three pieces together (not including other gear and facets, of course).
Combined with a good shield, amulet, and fire charms, I believe this could send a fire sorceress' damage through the roof; ascending her to the top-eschalons of maximum-damage character builds.
Thats boring, Humbart just about commented on anything he wanted. Let the helmet say stuff randomly but never get by without saying anything for 3 minutes. They will need a huge freakin' list so Humbart doesn't get boring. He should say something funny when the wearer dies.
Edit: I like the fire sorc set as those are sorcs I usually play as.

Thats actually a good idea...
But do you mean sets based on them, or sets for mercenaries ?
ES actually had mercenary sets, they were quite good and could only be used by your mercs.
Qual-Kehk in particular deserves a set, I really felt he needed a bigger part in D2, and giving him a set for D3 would work just as well :D.

A set for Adria would be pretty great, she never really had a big role in D1. However, apparently we may be getting her in D3.
And perhaps a set for Elzix (the retired bandit from act 2), he was always one of my favorite characters :D.

All the ones who you can hire mercenaries from in d2 are nominees for a set in d3, in my point of view.
