I would not be surprised to see the bosses in D3 to have one or a couple of items specific to them, but have the rest of their loot table completely randomized.
This would continue the trend of farming specific bosses, and hopefully get rid of the "only farm this boss because it's the fastest/easiest" (I don't care that you want to farm mephisto, i want to farm baal, dammit!). It would also allow for surprises from loot drops and would be in the spirit of the classic D3 randomization.

With that i agree. Something like:
Act 1 boss - better rates for Gloves, Boots and Belts.
Act 2 boss - better rates for Shoulders, Legs and Rings.
Act 3 boss - better rates for Chests, Shields and Helmets.
Act 4 boss - better rates for Weapons and Amulets.
Personally, lets not turn this into a MMORPG, instead of an action-rpg. How many times in MMORPG do you find yourself just grinding the same monsters for hours? Probably 80% of the game. And let me tell you right now, its not at all fun. You think it's all worth it in the end after you get what you want? Yes, but if it could be done by just going through numerous dungeons and having fun with other players who are a different class than you? Yea, we don't want logical drops.
Basically what I am saying here is this: I don't mind grinding huge bosses, those are cool and interesting at least, but lets not get into a situation where we are just grinding mobs, regular boring monsters.
Yes! We know some games have adopted this, "Oh, lets have logical drops!" And for some games it works, yes, it works! But lets keep Diablo a Diablo, a dungeon crawler action game where you are constantly destroying monsters left, right and center, and through your massacres you eventually get what you want.
I'm going to say this again. No one wants to grind regular mobs. Most people don't like grinding in general. However, those people who do it because it pays off can still do so, through big bosses. So super awesome uber players, don't worry, you still can become super powerful through grinding. No more issue.
