No, this is a pc game. Not a console game. There are no such things as unlockable characters.

Funny lol, that would work to unlock stronger chars, but then everybody will have them since there will be rushes to high levels.
It doesn't have to be stronger just gives you something to do once you've leveled up every character...
Meh I didn't really think it would work but Who knows
All I can say is Maybe it should Unlock something when you get to high levels that way it keeps the game fresh like italofoca mentioned
No, that isn't something that keeps the game fresh. It may temporarily, but it is a minor fix. Unless it is incredibly hard to unlock it will probably not yield much replayability. Replayability is accomplished through concepts like pvp and the constant pursuit of better armor. Once that one thing is unlocked the "fresh" that you speak of is gone.

True its not but...
All my buddies stopped being really into diablo when they had all high levels and there really wasn't anything else you could do...
But I guess they could have created a new character..
Maybe Blizzard should just pack D3 with things to do for higher levels as well as lower levels

If you need to get at lvl.60 with 3 classes to unlock some cool class it already imputed some interesting replaybility. Assuming the game have 0% rush possibilities ofc.

Well by that logic then LoD was a minor fix also all I'm saying is why not put in the Expansion without needing a real expansion
Because I mean there is enough Character Ideas
And Balancing 2 more when you've already got 5 would be not the hard to do
just dont mess with the 5 you already got
I like the Fallen King Idea (with some refining like not 5-6 at start)
But I like to summon stuff:)

lol. sorry. Just sayin. Replayability is a HUGE issue and not easily fixed. Imagine if there was something unlockable in D2 for your friends. They would have quit after they got it lol.
Really, one of the best examples is wow. It is the very definition of replayability. Why? You can never beat it! There is no replayability if you can't finish playing it the first time!
So it raises the possibility of something like professions and other things that offer the user the ability not only focus on the story or building their characters pvp capabilities but maybe something else that can maybe make the characgter unique and distinquished from the rest.
One good way wow does this is with the concept of pets. They became very popular as everyone saught out the super rare ones to make their character seem a bit cooler.
I'm not a wow fanboy but I played the game up to 2 lvl 80's so I know the ropes and I can see what keeps people shelling out that 15 dollars a month so they can keep playing.
Italofoca, thats replayability to a certain extent. But after so long it is no longer fresh. That is short term replayability. Maybe keeping it fresh for a year. But what about 5 to 10 years? The games that last that long have REAL replayability.

Yes but unlike wow diablo can be beat and adding another class with items you can collect can only add replayability.
Its not like its an item I got it now I can Quit its a new skill tree to master
so they should add like more quests to do or something
Or something like Pets like collect things throughout the harder difficultys something else with no end that you could always try to do after you beat the game

Maybe replayable quests. Unlocking stuff is temporary replayability. You need something that you can't finish. You need to have an aspect in the game that does not have an ultimate goal, but rather something to progress.
Take warcraft 3 or any other rts for that matter.
You have your record that you can constantly work on by playing other people. There is no final goal here, simply to play more. That is why people are still playing SC2.
So, you need something that has no particular end goal, but rather something to improve upon.

Personally I've always found Diablo 2 to have more replay value than any other game I've tried. I think I've spent more time on D2 than anything else. Having 5 or 7 classes each with 3 skill trees and a variety of skills that you can focus on adds a lot of replay right there. Randomized maps keep it fairly interesting as well. Probably the biggest thing is the random loot with seemingly endless equipment to get.
I've been playing D2 off and on since it came out and end up getting back into it on a regular basis. I don't think the Diablo series needs things like unlockables to keep people replaying, just needs to keep 5+ classes, randomized maps and a really wide variety of equipment.

Also, World of Warcraft and Lineage 2 have unlockable characters and both are Pc games. I kno they're both mmorpgs, but I don't know why it matters.

Doesn't need to say more.
Yes... Re-read what I said I added more:P
You are a really unforgiving person Jake...:P
But hey i'm not expecting it to ACTUALLY make it into the game its to feed hungry mouthes of the Diablo fans that have to wait this long for a game
