As much as I hate to say it, I hope D3 is released in June of 2010. I'm going into 11th grade, and am taking a few AP's, I have the SAT's.
I really hate to say it, but if D3 comes out during that year, I will pretty much fail every test I take. I wouldn't be able to put the amount of time, that I want into D3. I hope it comes out right during summer time, that would be great..
You can always say, that the longer they take, the better it will get, and the closer it will be to perfect. I'm definately willing to wait another 13-14 months from now to give me a chance to get to a good college, as well as give blizz a chance to perfect the game..
Another question, once the release date is announced, how long can I expect to wait till the release date (based on other releases, or just experience, or hunch)
So if it is announced during Blizzcon 09 (which is August 21-22) how many months later could it be expected to be released..
In december? jan?

Well, not to worry... I believe that a June-August (Late Q2, Early Q3) is about the earliest we can expect Diablo3.
Everytime the topic of release date comes up, someone versed in the game industry always, very clearly, reminds us that there is still lots to do.
I think it really depends of how much they tell us at this Year's Blizzcon. If they were to do the unthinkable and release both classes, then I could really see a Summer 2010 release.
But if they give 1 class or, I hate to say it, no class, then I have no idea... could be christmas time or even early 2011 before we see the final product.
Allow me to remind you, and I'm going to be very clear here, there is still a lot to do.
sigh..........

Lol, then I'll be in college.

Blizzard said they're going to try to release 1 major title per year. This year is gonna be Starcaft 2 (probably) and next year everyone is guessing it will be Diablo 3. I imagine both games will come out late in their respective years, such as late November. They can't pass up the opportunity to release the games in time for Christmas

I still, really hope it would be in the summer time.. Even though it is unlikely..
Is it true star craft is being released in September instead of December now??
If it comes out June 2010, or later, then I guess I'm fine. I expect a release date during blizzcon 09

I would be expecting a 2010 release. Even if the release date gets pushed back a bit, I'll just busy myself with preparing notes and tutorials for my students!!! That ALWAYS occupies plenty of my time

The world is full of kings and queens,
Who'll blind your eyes and steal your dreams,
Thats heaven and hell!
My fiance and I are planning on getting married in 2011, so she's really hoping it won't come until Nov/Dec of '11 so she'll have gotten at least some time with me before I become a D3 zombie :-p
Our recent conversation about it:
The Pretty One (her): I'm never going to see you again once it comes out, will I?
The Not Pretty One (that'd be me): Sure you will... when you deliver us snacks and drinks you've baked during LAN parties. And maybe when the power goes out... but I'll expect snacks then, too.
TPO: *laughs* oh great, ok.
TNPO: It's ok, I promise I'll write. You can try not to cry while you read about my horrible battles and the things I've seen... while you're baking snacks.

Whoa whoa whoa! First thing is first, the the guy graduating soon, if you think you are busy now, WAIT TILL COLLEGE. I spent more time on two hours of class a day then I ever spent on 7 hours of class a day in high school. If you plan on making it in college, I suggest you don't do the the things I did: turn to drugs and world of warcraft. Between drugs and world of warcraft, there was no way I was making it into my second year of college, and even if I got rid of one (preferably the drugs), I still probably would not have gotten a 4 year degree...
And as for the world coming to an end.... I only have one good question for that...
(In a goofy Donnie Darko voice) "Why?"
While many people have speculated this "end of the world", I will believe it when I see it. Let 2012 come, if there is an end I am prepared, but I just don't think its viable no matter how much occult, religious, or astronomical speculation you can cram up my arse.

Well, I'm graduating this year and I'm going to college in June... lol

Ever took an AP class?
What's up with the drugs and WoW thing? That's just sad... you need to get a grip on yourself. Dropping college > doing drugs.
Yeah, AP Bio my senior year. Never got college credit for that either. There could be a reason why they called our graduation year .08 (referring to Illinois's BAC laws).
As far as drugs and wow, I tended to use them separately, hence why there was so much time out of my life. Now that I think of it, that's probably why I failed that AP class too.
Maybe I just have a person problem XD......
But no, seriously, I have seen people fail college over WoW alone. Don't make that mistake.

Five AP's here. Took 2 last year. Supposedly, they simulate college. Since you only took 1, I can suppose you weren't exactly ready for college (they may call CP College Prep all the want but it doesn't prepare you for college... at all... lol).
You have a Facebook? (lol, I hate asking that)

Don't we all? You just have to decide what's important for you and go with it.

I find WoW extremely boring. I get addicted to games like StarCraft, but usually the addiction happens when I have nothing else to do, such as summer. I can never replace studying with games (not that I don't have my lazy moments). Which is why I'm coming to college in June. Got nothing to do in the summer besides play games and nothing is coming out.
Yeah 3 AP's this year and 4 the next. I think i'll be perfectly fine. Especially since i've 4 pointed all my years so far, about to 4 point another and i've done well on all standardized tests. Im not going to turn to drugs or WoW (possibly the most boring game i know).
I think i'll be fine. I barely do work in high school so college shouldn't be too bad.
Summer before college will be dedicated to hanging out with friends before they leave because depending on where i am going, i may not see a lot of them.

1. I don't think Blizzard would do it but some companies tend to overwork their games, bringing in too many features. If you see it that way, more time wouldn't neccesary mean more quality. But I guess it does for Blizz.
2. I would not care if the game isn't perfect when it is released. If they can launch it a few months earlier and skip some balancing and minor features, which will be added through patches. I would be fine, the ladder resets would make up for the unbalanced start.
I really hope that it isn't released too late, if it is released after November, I can't buy it. I have my birthday on the 16th of January, so mom and dad don't want me to buy the things I want when past October so they and my other relatives has something other than money to buy me. And since D3 will be on the top of my wishlist I won't recieve it before my birthday, they want to keep the best for last. So if it is released in november I would lose the opportunity to play when the game is fresh from hacks, market overflowing, tons of highlevels and other things that you will have to deal with until the next ladder reset (which I hope will be atleast every 1.5 - 2 months). It would be nice to experience a game when it is new and different. Not many companies can give that opportunity since they spread out their releases. But Blizzard has their games available everywhere at the moment when it is released.
But the most important thing about having it fresh: Noone knows and tells you what to do or not do about your skilltree, so I would be able to fail and redo over and over, and the game would be more of a challenge since many items won't even have been found yet. It would be great to have a challenge for once. Becoming a newbie again and play with your fellow newbies. And the word noob wouldn't exist since you wouldn't have anyone that is "perfected" to compare to. (but it will probably be said anyways by the 10.000 trolls on the battle.net forums that buys the game and enters a state of uncontrolled button smashing, mocking and stressing the hell out of the games curse filters)
my exact thoughts for the most part.
I don't want a ladder reset every 2 months, because it would feel like I'm being rushed. The first ladder should be I guess at least...7 months?? or 6 if they want to make it even. My problem, is that I hate games released with glitches, but I'm normally talking about games like cod, but in those games, one glitch means the game is now crap until its patched (I guess its different with an RPG).
Blizzard is the only company I know that overworks their production, to try to make the game as good as possible. Other companies will work very hard, but won't push the release date back..
This will be my first RPG, or MMORPG that I will make sure that I get it at midnight release? or the morning of release. Its fun because no one knows wtf they are doing, lol. But i've never seen a game that people have been so passionate about it; I guess you could say..
I'm just going to get a few friends from this website, and play with them upon D3's release. It's the best way to avoid playing with people who have no idea what D3 is.. You could play with people who have played D1, D2, and lod, and know about the game..
My problem, is that I want the game to be released in exactly 13 months, or anytime past June of 2010. 11th grade is the most important year of HS, and I want to have somewhat of a life during it..
