I never thought of it that way. How do u mean though?
I think he means by item rarity colors, and the WoW talent tree, those both were heavily influenced by D2. I'm sure there were a couple other things also.
I think the move from the tetris system is great, why?
Because the only thing the tetris system really caused me to have to do was open a TP, go back to town, and dump the stuff I wanted to keep in the stash and sell the rest.
Now that was fine if all I was picking up was runes and gems, but if I picked up a couple of suits of armor it was back to town, and don't even get me started on if I was carrying around some grand charms or some such....

I do not have a strong opinion on this or anything, but just to play devil's advocate: Although it was not the most fun having to go back to town and organized things so they would fit, is it realistic to be carrying around 10 things or full armor? I know this is brought up a lot, but maybe it would be helpful to reiterate it.
He said that there were Legendary Items replacing Uniques and that they were purple, meaning he is miss-informed.
Lol youre correct. I thought you were talking about italofocas #2. Sorry.
Although WoW got some aspects of D2 incorporated into the game, it also got many aspects of other MMOs. Those are the aspects I would like to see seriously considered before bringing to D3.

Apparently freezing yourself is fatal. HOW ARE YOU PEOPLE COPING?!
They shoot freaking fire balls, jump 20 meter high and summon walls made out of hungry zombies. Don;t you think it's obvious that realism should not be considered.
Oh yeah, but I am just wondering if someone could explain to me how you could hold that much? Where does it all stay?

The character hold that much because we players don't want spend time organizing our bags every time we drop a armor and a large weapon.
It stays inside our bags designed by blizz to satisfy our needs of item collection and unstopable monster carnage.
It's a game. Everything must be explanaded by game design, not by realism.
Yeh, Diablo 2 gave birth to WoW, wait... Now I'm starting to dislike Diablo 2 for bringing such an abomination to light. xD
I don't know how WoW is an abomination. It was successful. If it's not your thing then that's cool... but that game made it possible for Blizzard to do what it is now. Without that source of income they wouldn't be able to fund D3, SC2, a new MMO and another new game on top of that.

Exactly.
Why do all of you hate on WoW when 90% of that game is derived from Diablo 2? You obviously must hate D2. Actually you guys probably resent WoW because you don't have jobs and would need your mommy to pay for the subscription. Am I right?
Weight restrictions/carry limits on characters are not fun. They work in a heavy RPG, but in a game that is largely a decendent of Gauntlet(and hey, that is a compliment), they don't much fit. There is a limit to how much we can carry, but it isn't limited by size restrictions.
If I am going to go running around in full plate with a great helm, greaves, gauntlets, and a gianormous 2 handed axe, all the while jumping, spinning and running nearly continously...I don't think the weight of the loot I am carrying needs to be too concerned with.

You are wrong.
I hate wow because I dislike the gameplay. Also the fact that i don't like to spend more then a hour playing, and in wow a hour is only the time to get into the dungeons.
And D2 don't have a big influence in wow at all. Only who never played a wide range of MMO say that. Most of wow features comes from anarchy online, final fantasy XI, everquest and ultima online. The only other huge influence in wow are warcraft 3 with the graphics (both tech and art).
but the thing is italofoca is where did those games get their features, diablo was pretty much the first ever good hardcore rpg that the whole world seemed to take notice of, you will find almost every game nowadays has some sort of inspiration that leads back to these origional role playing games. Think about it BLizzard made Diablo and WoW there is no way they could not put similar features in, yes there may not be as many features as games such as final fantasy XI or anarchy online but there are deffinatally features of Diablo in WoW.
I dont get why we are all wineing about WoW who gives a shit!! Its Diablo we care about (no offence to all you WoW players) in the end i am sure Blizzzard will make Diablo essentially Diablo in the end, just looking at the screen shots the only similarites i can see is graphics anfd are you going to look deeply in detail when you are too busy smashing some demon so his ass is on his face???
WoW is an evolution of the rpg portion of D2, most Diablo fans resent WoW because of the mmo part of WoW (which leads to many differences in core gameplay between the two games because d2 is heavy on the Action in the ARPG and wow is heavy on the MMO in the MMORPG). Personally I'm a fan of both but a MUCH bigger fan of the Diablo series. WoW isn't really that much fun anymore with its over active "casual players should experience endgame too" approach, which isn't appropriate for an mmo of WoW's scale.

I've played virtually every MMO released and I think WoW very obviously draws inspiration from Diablo II in many facets of the game.

True,
It's not hard to see that a developer draws feedback from their past games and implement it in their new games. I think they've even stated somewhere that very well working elements from D2 got implemented in WoW. And Very good elements from WoW will be implemented in D3. Without overhauling the whole genre. Think of an auction house system.

"This is just like WoW!"
And from the casual's standpoint, it probably is.

Who cares, it's an action oriented game. Hold what you want, hold a billion swords, just make the game fun.
