I am not trying to make Diablo a 'WoW clone' by any stretch of the imagination... But one feature I really do think they should steal from WoW and put into Diablo is the inspect feature. For those of you that haven't played WoW, inspecting another player allows you to see the gear that they are wearing in detail.
I know playing D2 you eventually learned all of the uniques someone had on... But when you got a great rare that was extremely powerful, it was always a lot of fun to be able to show it off.
Just an idea... Was wondering if they had mentioned this yet or if you guys had any feedback.
I really thought Diablo II needed this, but I don't think it will be needed as much if there is only 4 people per game now. I'd still vote for it though, especially if they are planning on adding trading games with a higher amount of people.
Before we get people complaining about borrowing a WoW idea, I think this is a good idea.
Maybe for Diablo, though, they could have it as the player needing to accept it? Well, that might get annoying if someone keeps doing it to you and you keep denying ... so, perhaps stick with the any-time view.
But I still like the idea. It could give lowbies a sense of what higher gear is like.
that could indeed be useful because then I wouldn't need to type "show equipment?"

Bashiok: Anything is possible. I think the "dump everything into a trade window" was awful, I'm sure the designers agree, and if there's a desire to look at someone else' items then there needs to be a way to do it properly.
Yeah good feature but I agree on the accept thing. I don't want everyone to see my gear. This used to be a problem at some point in the dueling especially in hc when people used some hack to inspect others gear and dropped out the duel because they had great gear.
If they have some sort of a party creation tool, it would also be nice if you could inspect characters not in the current game your in, or when your out of a game. I hated pugging in WoW, and it was made more tedious having to check everyone's gear in the armory before inviting or accepting an invite. This might also make it easier to see what kinds of things are worth building towards by checking out what the top character builds tend to stack for stats/weapons/etc...
Do you think being able to inspect players talent specs would be a good thing? or would it lead more towards generic character builds?
also what about an option to disable players from inspecting your char? or an option to require permission to check it?

Check this box if you will allow others to inspect your Gear.
Check this box if you want your gear to remain private.
Cause some people may want to show off their stuff, while others would prefer not too.
Yeah, I'm sure there will be a multitude of douche bags that will mock people's gear.
