Garbage in... Garbage out? Hmm? Including yourself? Right bud... Take a look at your posts. Check out my signature, it's there for these reasons.
Regardless, my question stands as BASIC. If you want my take on it, because you guys can't grasp it already... (maybe you can, you just have to argue about it... I guess this topic is touchy)
Who DEVELOPED, PROGRAMMED, PRODUCED, DREW, STORY-LINED, PROGRAMMED, CONCEPTED, or in any way -CREATED- the game. Not someone who marketed it, not someone who brought water bottles to the team, but who -FORMED- the game. Who is LEFT who originally FOUNDED the Diablo series. Again, for clarification, someone who brought the game to life in any way. Not someone who said "Hey, bestbuy, sell our product" or someone who made pizza because Diablo commanded it.

No names from the first list currently work at Blizzard, three from the second list do.
If you're curious about who did what, check mobygames. If they are on the mobygames list, and not on the above list, that means they were either based in Irvine or working as a contractor. My source told me who was Blizzard North, but I have no idea who is no longer at Blizzard aside from high-profile departures like Adham, Strain, O'Brien, Wyatt, Roper, and a few others.
There you go - if that list doesn't work, you're just lazy.
Maybe it's good to point out regardless of who is working on Diablo 3 at Blizzard, they are who they are and we will get what we get. However we can all send them a card and wish them well in their efforts.

Dear Blizzard,
I am an obsessive compulsive Diablo fan who is intensely concerned about your development teams efforts and wanted to take the opportunity to wish them well and convey I wait in baited anticipation for it’s release. Until then I will wait diligently by the warmth of my monitor refreshing your Diablo 3 website regularly awaiting any new announcements you may throw us.

Anyways, I just wanted to talk about the controversial subject of Diablo 3, lol, and that I've left the series (because Diablo 3 looks bad artwise) in favor of my new favorite RPA games, Crystal Meth: Nightmare Killing Spree, and Fish Trauma: Operation.
Sincerely,

According to wiki, D1, D2 and D3 are different products.
The development team changed between each game. Some people left for better opportunity. Some of them left because "they wanted to try something new"=they are fed of working on Diablo. Some of them left because of bad teamwork! You end up with different people who formed different teams. D3 will not be like the team of D1 or D2 wanted. It will be very different. The graphics will also change. The sound will also change. The music will be slightly different. The network code and anti-cheating may also be updated. And there will be a lot more changes. The most drastic change will occur in Diablo3 for sure. This team is new!
Does that mean you will end up with a shitty Diablo? It depends. Do you like the graphics? That's probably not going to change much. For anything else, I don't know. YOU don't know either. Nobody know! We can't judge without a demo by just looking at some pictures and so few videos. It is hard to judge the gameplay when it may come out in about 1 F** YEAR!! Maybe in the end of 2009, I will yell in this forum "this game blows. I am out"... and I will be gone trying other games. Or maybe this game will bring a new experience that I would find very addictive and exciting. For example, I didn't know what to think much about Guild Wars because I am not into PvP at all, but the PvE part of Guild Wars keep me playing that game until last year. It is like trying to compare Windows Vista to Windows XP. Different team=different experience.
It all depends on your expectations. What you want is not what I want (look at my first post/thread)! And what I want is not what everyone want. Does it mean this game is not for me if it doesn't match my expectations? I dunno yet. I am just patiently waiting for ONE YEAR to find out how D3 will turn out. We are just giggling like girls, and speculating like nerds over something not even out. It is cool. Some people find it fun. You know what I am worry? I am worry this game will NEVER come out (like Mythos). Maybe this game will come out with bugs like GTA4 on PC (it doesn't work for me). Maybe it will suck like Daikatana. Or maybe the game will be Duke Nukem Forever. It is just speculations.
Back to YOUR topic! The team is different. They already screw up the graphics, the sound, story, the music. They may also screw up the gameplay, and more. I AGREE they did screw up the Diablo you grew up. Some fans think the graphics is like WoW (because of Jay Wilson). By adding blood to the game does not make it a success (ex: Requiem: Bloodymare). The graphics and sounds will be higher quality (PS: I HATE DIABLO MUSIC). Personally I don't care about the story. But yes... the story will be from someone you never heard of. You don't know what this game will be about and who is the end boss (well I think it is Diablo). Gameplay... very different and still under development. We know they are thinking about a lot of ideas by looking at all the "cool" stuffs from other games. But what is cool is an opinion (I would find it cool to have all the classes from Guild Wars in Diablo3, but that's me).
So what is D3 in the end? It is a hack-slash RPG that follow the story line of Diablo. That's it. Nothing else. As a fan of Diablo series, I have a several video of Diablo3 on my youtube account (http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=yes4me), and I just hope this game is addictive as it was in the past. I am GLAD it is not the same as before, because this is NOT an expansion: it is a new game with new ideas by some guy who worked on WoW, Starcraft II, Warhammer 40000. In short, D1/D2 vs D3 is like getting a DELL instead of a HP. In the end it is still a computer/game. Take a break. Relax. Enjoy the ride or just try something else.

Alright, so far, I've heard people tell me THREE people are leftover from the original teams, now I've had someone tell me theres none in the post above yours, Unclean.
As for posing a new question, the one originally has yet to be answered from any definitive, clear cut source... If, however, you all tell me it is 3 people, and MUTUALLY AGREE, theres no room for arguement, is there?
I'm concerned, at this point, that the end product of Diablo 3 will be fucked up with NO original person helping. What did the 3 people leftover do originally? Theres a good question.

This is my view on the D3 dev team:
- Blizzard North left. They made DII. DII sucks compared to DI, so I don't care.
- Blizzard itself remained, partially. Who did or who did not work on DI-II-III is a mystery. I'm pretty sure someone besides water bottle carriers and marketing worked at Blizzard itself and also on DII, or maybe simply oversee-ed the product at that time. But you'll never know this number. Blizzard also remains as a quality check. But some people will devalue this. Whatever.
"can we find out what the people who did are working on other than the dude who drew Mephisto's ass?"
And if you are asking that sort of questions, you need to specify if you want to exclude every designer and artist that took part in DII or something... we can't read your mind and magically know what exactly do you want.
Whether or not is this good for you is up to you. For me this means that DIII will be a new game and can go for better or for worse, but will lean towards "Blizzard quality", which constitutes WCIII and WoW right now. Jay Wilson and Leonard Boyarsky are the kind of people I trust, though. You may check what they did in the past.
Who did or who did not work on DI-II-III is a mystery.
The current team is a mystery to some degree. But the crew on Diablo and Diablo II isn't at all - that's why we have things called "credits". Some folks want it to be a mystery, because they want to obscure the fact that almost everyone who worked on the titles are gone, including absolutely everyone from the core team of the original Diablo. And some people want to believe it is a mystery, because it lets them overlook this fact and not have their expectations damaged. But every one of the 70 or so names mentioned in this thread has, at least, a credit on mobygames.
"Mysteries" are usually rationalizations of people too lazy or unconcerned to research something.
