Something ive been wondering, is whats the leveling going to be like.
I hope its not similar to Diablo's 1&2.
Diablo classic was rather hard, and time consuming to reach 90+
Diablo LOD enabled players to reach lvl 99 (highest).
Is there going to be a lvl sytem like Diablo 1&2? lvls 1-99 and stop?
Or is there going to be a lvl higher than 100!
I would actually be very attracted to the fact that if D3 had a lvling sytem that was limitless!
level 1-???
I know this might conflict with the skill tree, but who knows how the skill tree is used in D3? no one does!
If there wasnt a level restriction, that would persuade people to not make a million characters.
Thoughts? additions?

Battle not with monsters lest ye become a monster and if you gaze into the abyss the abyss gazes into you.
I wouldn't mind limitless levels on Ladder. But not on Non-Ladder, too many people will have high leveling and, eventually, everyone will have all skills maxed out and we'll have the "full-max-skill game balance disorder". I guess they could balance that, but if they do, it just means people will be the same on that level... so, eventually, there'll be a secondary level cap (all players have all skills maxed), and the only difference would be attributes.
Frankly, I see little point.
I also think the maximum level should be easy to reach for PvP purposes.
I mean this in the nicest way possible...THAT IDEA IS HORRIBLE lol. Seriously i find it pointless and not very fulfilling. I hope they keep it like it is in Diablo 2.
Equinox is right the more you grind th ebetter gear, and the better gear the more you can grind. Thats exactly how it is in D2 already so dont say its bad because it may very well be good. If you have a limitless level and you maxx all skills the only thing that can go up is your attributes which increase health mana and wep atta nd def so do you really need thos eas much... no i didn't think so. They help only for mana and health once thats done a wiz with teleport will be better than you if you keep trying to melee it. so in actuality level limit should what it takes to max 2 Attributes and all your skills.

Not even Death will save you from Diablo Bunny's Cuteness!
Thats just it guys, we DONT know how the skill tree will be.
Every responce has been based on D2 stats and mechanics.
D3 isnt going to be like D2 in these ways.
Also, who said lvling had to be easy! well, at a certian point.
Say a person lvl's to 100, from lvl 100 it takes 5 times as much effort to level. or more.
NOT assuming that D3 is going to be akin to D2's stats and skills tree.
OR! lets say when you reach lvl 100, you can no longer get skills. Only your attributes are raised just a little each level.
Im tryin to think outside the horadrix cube here!

It should be like diablo 2 before LOD. Leveling gets time consuming after 84, but in PVP there is really not much difference if you are 84 or 94 on some cases. If you know what you do you can beat it. Only difference is in BVB where hitting on 94 barb would be a lot harder with 84, but if _anyone_ had leveled 94 barb with PVP build gg on that he deserves to win
In ladder there would be quite a lot of 80-84 level characters, a lot less 84-88 and only some dozens of 88-90 and only a dozen of 90-95. Maybe it should be a little bit easier to get level 100 than it was then to get 99, since only team characters were able to do it. But getting level 90 in 1-2 days shouldn't be possible. I'd say if you play 5 hours / day you would reach level 90 in 1-2 weeks. With same pace you would go 90-100 in 4-8 weeks. Nowadays it is just rushing to 90 and after a while most people just get a 1-2 levels and never even go for 99, the difficulty of leveling should start already at level 80 and continue much evenly all the way to level 100.
When you play in Ladder and if you reach maximum level (100 i guess?) you would still gain experience and this would make a difference between the top ladder players.
If they can do something neat with it (ie. "you've reached elite level status.. reward is blah blah... bonus quest opens.."), then yes. However, if its D2 with limitless leveling then, hell no...
Say level 0-99 is just leveling for experience, points etc.. Level 100-110, a bonus quest opens with each level-up; with a hard unique boss that has a good chance of dropping something really awesome.. Afterwards, the player can always return to this now newly open area and fight this boss..

Lace me with the words of destruction and I'll explode, but supply me with the will to survive and watch the world grow.
I like the idea of a bonus level after 99 . Could do like a prestiege level . That would be a good place to put a secret cow level. I doubt they would create a another quest just for 99 and higher levels . Maybe later on with expansions.
It's either keep a limitless level system, but with a limited skill points to be entered, so that a player can't max out everything, or keep it at level 100. Level 80, then 90 in an expansion, then 100 in another, would be so gay.
I say make it like Dungeon Siege, Limitless leveling system. Those who are dedicated can play with the dedicated and those who are casual can play with the casual.
Just like in D2 when the party was full, monsters would be scaled to be more difficult. This should be implemented to the limitless leveling system so the game can never get old if you're level 150 lets say.
If it was like that poeple would be over powered and its jsut gonna be the same thing over and over it'll be a race for the highest level, but if theres a cap it makes you wanna do the game over, and its always fun starting a new character.
Its not like the game will get boring and if you do get bored of Diablo III taht quickly if thats even possible, theres expansions.

"to the worm in horseradish, the world is horseradish."
The PVP would be decided by the player who grind more and get more levels, not the one who better understand the game's mechanic.
When I'm at college, I have a life, and I don't want it ruined because my PvP opponent grinded twice as much.
Strength in Diablo comes from one's gear. And it should in D3.

Mine includes every mechanic possible.
That's what I said. Do we need this? No.

No.

Yes, I'm hinting at the gay WoW system.
