Season in almost live, and I was just wondering to my self: " Which class is fastest ( clearing rifts ) and easy to gear up for season start up "?
As All of us, I want to pick up a class which can clear easy Torment 6+ ( Of course just for the first days of season ) just to make as much keys and bounty as I can..
According to the bonus set, which class is faster among the others ?
WD seems slow on torments, I just wanted to know which class u will pick up for the start up ( not the final meta)
I was thinking about Monk.. Could be the best one for season start..
The WD might be slow on Torments, but only compared to the other endgame-TX builds like LoN crusader or Wand of Woh wizard... so it's all a matter of perspective.
With only the 6 piece set and no other legendary, Zuni, Raekor, and Marauder are all not too bad. Inna's and DMO are a bit behind (not too bad but also not too good) and Akkhan is pretty much the worst starter set.
From there, it's more important which legendaries you find than what your starter set is. It's so quick to get an entire set if you focus on it (gambling, upgrading rares, re-rolling set pieces, possibly lootshare), so if you care so much about the "easiest and fastest class" you seem to be quite an efficient player who's determined - and in that case, any class can be good for you. Keep in mind that many of the "super fast TX builds" are really hard to gear for (LoN monk/crusader/WD, Wand of Woh wizard). And even than, all classes are so close in the beginning; it's more about being familiar with what builds you can create with the few legendaries you scrap together in the beginning. Choose a class you like and enjoy for TX/bounties/early GRs.
For example: In my personal opinion, the DH is a good all-around starter class; it's got a few good starting builds, Marauder isn't too bad, once you get Multishot gear you can wreck everything, and with Danetta's you speed through bounties like there's no morning. However, I don't like the DH. But I kind of like the pet WD, even though it's a bit slower, and I know the class very well, so whatever legendaries I get I know what build I can create around that. So I choose WD.
Don't go too crazy about what other people tell you, look into early builds, maybe try them out now on non-season, and choose the class you LIKE.
Considering I can level 1-70 solo in 2hrs and 25min with a WD, that is likely the path I am going to start.
On PTR I am doing TX rifts with Zuni-Chicken in around 2min 55sec, which is really not that bad at all for a starter set, which is the 4th strongest set for the class behind HT-Pet, Jade, and LoN.
As I go through the season (maybe like paragon 600-800) I plan on swapping over to Barb and compiling a thorns LoN set because it looks really fun, and have not had the ambition to collect the pieces on PTR. Between pushing WD and collecting LoN Barb pieces I should have enough to do for most of the season to keep me busy.

This is probably the best advice anyone can give regarding the topic. Once 2.4.1 goes live tomorrow, simply test out the starter builds with ONLY YELLOWS. Maybe simulate the process of having the 2pc, not using paragon, and killing Izual with each set. Then try a GR20 with the 4pc. After you get the 6pc, just use that as well as yellows and run a few T6 runs to see how you like the synergy. Then go for whichever one feels the best as you are playing!
Regarding PTR testing and leveling experience, keep in mind that the 2000% legendary buff on PTR falsifies all results. You'll be slower and have a bit less power especially in the beginning (though it's still a joke on WD). Basically everyone on PTR had almost full ancient at paragon 500, which of course is not gonna be the case on Friday ;-)
I'm planning to start Barb, as it has the starting pieces for the speed build. For finishing, Crusader. I might save the GR 20 bonus for a HC WD though.
Just tried out the wiz. Poor the class T_T miserably slow, weak and fragile. How can they make the wiz suffer so much like this to build a proper DPS build is extremely hard already comparing to zdps, not mention the augment thing will even slow the wiz down even more to get in a group. It's just not fair T_T

Do you have a source that it goes live tomorrow? Can't seem to find anything on that matter.
Play something new and refreshing, or something you really enjoy no matter what. Otherwise you'll just get bored and quit after a week like most of the population.

Yeah, I know. That's why I'm looking to play sader this season NEVER played it yet. But I don't mind to spend a week or two on barb if it's easier to start with than sader.

Depends on how you test, I do not pick up legendary items when I test, thus it actually slows me down because I have less yellow/blue/white crafting mats.

I think Barb is faster farming earlier on, arguably the fastest.
What you need to think about is the 1-2 sader only items that you CANNOT get if you start farming with Barb, and figure out if the speed increase is worth it. Me personally, I say no, you never really know when that drop is coming.

It is significantly easier to get the special items if you get your speed-running class to 70, get your pushing class to whatever lvl you need for the specific drops, and just spend shards until you get that item.

Arnt the sader only items weapons?
It is never more efficient to gamble on weapons. Would be better off using that speed farming to grab mats and try to craft the items on the cube.
Regardless, it leads to the farming build seemingly being better.
But in hindsight, akkhan thorns is solid for leveling and group large mobs together for some farming. It is not Raekor, nothing is, but akkhan is not a slouch when it comes to farming either.
The free set for Monks is Inna's which is great for solo GR's, and now that we don't need to run LoN it's significantly easier to gear for T10 speeds. Quin's even posted a new Raiment build that's probably the fastest bounty build in the game. On top of all that support monk is still stupidly easy to build for efficient early group farming. My vote goes to Monk.

I still like the WD for 1-70+ & Zuni is a good set till you find the Helltooth set & Bigdaddyden has a great build right here: http://www.diablofans.com/builds/71017-2-4-hell-tooth-pet-gr80
BTW, this is the same setup I have!

Season starts Friday.
(Main) patches are always launched Tuesday (NA), Wednesday (EU), Thursday (Asia). => Patch this week.
I'm looking for an advice:
I want to play LoN Sader, but won't it be more effective to start with barb and farm ancient gear on him rather than on sader himself?

I haven't played Barb in a while, but I tried to do some research on how they were in S5 and apparently they couldn't farm TX?
Barb i guess...
