Lol, we should see a gameplay video with the new music without advancing anything about the game... really. With the little information we have, it really is impossible to judge accurately. But then again I didn't get the chance to hear the 2 music so I can't say much, I'll to find samples though!
OKay I heard samples...Firstly, If I hear that girl scream one more time....I'll just cry (cry not in the good way).
Wow Sith you really pinpointed the style. It's like Final Fantasy(mainly because of the guitar part in the Children of the WorldStone) or Zelda. I don't think this is ambient music though, it's too personnal, too detailed. I don't mind the music, it's original and really is different from diablo 2 and some basic sounds and harmonies. The problem I have is that freaking singer ripping the music with her lamenting voice, man she's pissing me off (I'm listening to the "Last Angel" right now BTW). Children of the WorldStone is cool. I wonder if Matt would have done the same....
Edit: The music so far is missing the orgue, heavy intruments and some evil electronic sounds. I doubt that we have seen the evil music yet, "last angel" must be soft cause these guys must be a symbol of good, Children are innocent and sweet... the music must also reflect that which is why it doesn't go all the way to the bad side. So I must say so far that we have not seen the best evil parts of the game.
You guys are smoking pot, D2 had both epic and ambient music. The incomplete samples of the incomplete D3 soundtrack also have both. All of the music from LoD was more 'epic' and there were no ambient tracks in A5 either. D3 has creepy ambient music kind of like that dungeon music from D1 just with some parts performed by orchestral instruments instead of a band. Also, the orchestral pieces are all knitted with details, bits and pieces from D1 and D2 themes if you have an ear to recognize that Tristram theme progression occurring in almost every track.
EDIT: Also note that the tracks you hear on Echoes of War are not at all like what they will be in the game. They are performed by a symphonic orchestra and of course they will sound epic and orchestral... Did you hear their renditions of the SC1 soundtrack? They sound nothing like the originals and would never fit that game, but they are fun to listen to nonetheless.
Well I found myself some time to really listen to each soundtrack 1 more time and actually.... it's very very good. The last angel really is both evil and good, if you listen at the end you can feel like someone (angel maybe I mean it's in the title) die, the heartbeat is slowly fading away. From the beginning to the end, you can see a development of the story. From the start you already know that it will go bad at the end, during the middle part we see a kind of struggle and defeat, the end is all about his slow death. I really like how it ends (ya I found the full one this time), with the long pause before you hear the piano and the drums. Can't wait to hear more!
I stress again, Echoes of War is not the soundtack from the games. They are covers done by an orchestra unrelated to the one that is doing the actual game soundtrack.

You could spam this a million times in every thread and most people would never actually catch on....pretty sad lol
Lol, there's no such thing as gay epic :cute:...
I kind of like the style, but that stupid girl singing is really annoying. It's actually a relief to know that these soundtracks aren't actually from Blizzard, it was kind of too much for DIablo. I like LOD's music a lot more than DI's music (except tristram's theme). DI became very annoying after a while, but it served it's purpose :). Now it's time to hear Ochestrated creepy music instead of fake drums and voices :P. Place à la musique!
We all know that these are covers, but who says that the originals would be that different from these! We should wait for the original music and see how different is it!
For example, my favorite track is the Hyperion Overture from Starcraft II! If you look (and listen) at the gameplay trailer on their official site, it is obvious that the difference between the original and the Eminence covers is very, very small! So my point is: Even though they are covers, it doesn't mean that they will sound differently in their original versions!
Well chances are the crowd covering the songs wanted something there style and maybe really epic songs suit them well......the creepy ambiance isnt really great when played by an orchestra anyways......id say from what weve seen, the basic dungeon crawling and other places we will explore will have creepy eerie music similar to that of past diablo games.....of course none of us know...but why would they change that? lol I mean seriously you think theres gonna be crazy huge epic music when ur running around a dungeon? The devs arent stupid, and there gamers to, they know what not to do(I hope :P)...OR WHO KNOWS MAYBE IT WILL SOUND LIKE MARIO BROS 2?!?!?!??!
Fourth. I want to hear that awesome diablo guitar, not a god damn orchestra making me feel like I'm in an action movie.
As I said before....most of the music in the game will probably being similar to the past diablo games.....why would they have all kinds of epic music when half the game is probably gonna be deep in dungeons and creepy caves and crap like that? They would have to be pretty dumb to have all kinds of insane pumping epic music in those situations.

TBH, I really do not feel "Last Angel" and "Children of WorldStone" at all!
I really DON'T think they fit Diablo world at all!
Have you guys heard it? I wonder what you think?
"Eterneal Conflict" is like the Oldschool - Great!
"Legacy of Terror" is like what you hear from the trailers. Not much new...
There doesn't seem to be any Diablo type of Ambient, Scary music!!!
