When you guys finally get to see a boss battle, epic will shoot out of your ass, your eyes will shed heavenly waters, and your other orifices will leak awesome.
When you guys finally get to see a boss battle, epic will shoot out of your ass, your eyes will cry heavenly waters, and your other orifices will leak awesome.
Care to explain what exactly would cause that to happen? This thread is simply here for you to express your wost fears in the form of a quest, monster, level etc. I'm compiling my list right now...
Worst fears... I am playing a barb and the entire map is full of oblivion knights. Not cool man, not cool.
I would like to see some side quests that bring you to the little areas that are far less explored. When was the last time anyone went into the hole in cold plains? Hardly anyone does but it'd be cool if some random encounters happened while venturing in these areas or have quests that direct you to go to these places.

The blind mind's eye replies with a sigh and a tear of contempt for those who see the world as it truly is.
Suggestion 1:
I would like to have a level called the flesh factory. The boss battle would take place in a room full of pits, there would be chutes that corpses (humans and demons) spill out of into the pits, a giant floating magic drill would come down every so often to mash the corpses into a gory stew that would bubble up from the pit. With it would be health orbs. The boss himself would be a shovel armed freak with body of a hellish centipede, on its back would be mounted fire ballistas that smaller demons would be firing at you. After the boss dies the remaining centipede sections (each having 4 legs) would split up and surround you. If you destroy the center of the boss he splits into two. The bosses main attack would be to try and shovel you into the pits, the secondary attack would be a lightning charged attack, that would emanate from his entire body and shock anything in the direct vicinity (the lightning would arc across the metal studs that hold his skin together), third attack would be to smash you with his shovels. His skin would be a mesh of stitched together husks from various demons (thus the flesh factory). His head... Griswold(his head would be tiny in comparison to his body)
Suggestion 2:
I would like to see a monster in "hell" act that wields a great maul while flying, kinda like a megademon but more aerodynamic and flighty. It can cast lightning bolts down on you and can do a falling hammer strike that leaves a crater and does area lightning damage (in later difficulties the area is bigger) that will leave it grounded for a short amount of time (attack window). There could be different iterations of this. sulfuric rain, acid rain, blizzard.
Come on people, am I the only one interested in how hell will look in D3? The dev team could be watching the forums for ideas, the more ideas posted the higher chance one of them has of making it into the game. They could even use this thread as inspiration for other ideas. It's not like our fears don't hold value to them. I remember a time when this forum was filled with wonderful ideas for D3, now it's just a place where people come to troll. It's sad.
I want a blood bath. I want hell to be so dark and so terrifying I want random HUGE ASS groups of monsters to jump out threw the walls and terrorize you and your party. I want big demons to smack you around as they come out of the walls and send you flying. I want quests that send you deep down into dungeons where you cannot find the final boss. So when you give up you hear a ROAR!! *SMASH* A big ass demon flys at you smacks you down goes out the wall and you have to chase it down before it reaches the poor defensless village. I want to arrive at the village to late to see the bloody carnage and then kill the demon and move on. I WANT TO BE SCARED SHITLESS!!!

I want a constant threat of suddenly dying at any moment. Like the entire Hell environment would be against both you and other demons. It could randomly stretch up and tear you apart or something, kind of like how the barbarian got suddenly eaten by the Siegebreaker Assault Beast.
The feeling of constant threat would keep me on edge the whole time. I like thinking that at any moment my head or limbs could come right off.
Or maybe not the environment, but really fast and vicious demons that have awesome one-hit kill abilities like the Seigebeast. So I still have a chance to defend myself if I can kill it quickly before it gets to me.
And yeah, defs want a blood bath.
And I want to see the Countess again!! As some kind of evil demon-queen, as if she went to Hell when she died.

Main quests? They shouldn't be as boring as the Khalim's will quest, or as lame and useless and the Jade Figurine one. Betrayal of Horragoth and fighting the Ancients was awesome. More quests should be made in that fashion.
Side quests? I don't care, just make them rewarding and worth the time.
Scenery and level design. I like what I see so far.
Story elements? Something captivating and enthralling.
Enemies? As cool as Terror Lords, but not as annoying as Sand Leapers
Enemy spells and attacks? Just do the old Diablo II system, that worked fine IMO, and provided challenging aspects to all the classes, and all the builds, in one way or another.
Interactive? We can destroy the environment, that's as interactive as I'd want to get.
I'd like cool NPC's like Farah, Akara, and Deckard Cane..not gaymos like Nihlathak and Natalya.
Boss battles? Make them as graphics as possible, and as dangerous as possible..i.e Duriel + the graphical bit.
These are great suggestion, but I want details people. Describe what makes your stomach turn, delve into your childhood nightmares, and explore the depths of your twisted mind. Use descriptive writing to paint a picture of what your personal hell would look like.
One thing that i really find "creepy" is torture. More of that in certain places.
What kind of torture? Describe how you would torture someone.

A quest in wich the ground moves beneath your feet.
Place an item in a pedestal and the the circle beneath you starts revolving and monsters pouring from the roof holes and lots of sewer barred tubes around you.
I hate being surprised. Those Hidden in DI kept scaring the shit out me because they would just appear around me and kill me - which is where my 'constant threat of sudden death' idea came from.
I also HATE things half my size crawling at me on all fours with its head down. Not like a dog, more like a person. I don't know why. But thats not the sort of thing that can be replicated in the DIII perspective anyway.
I also get really scared in deep dark water because I can't see very well.
The physical side of Hell gets kind of boring after you see it everywhere. Especially with the whole 'eternal fire' thing. But what really gets me is people being shredded apart and seeing their insides come to their outsides while they are still alive. Also being eaten alive. Actually I think being eaten alive is the thing I hate/fear most.
i would like to see boss battles not just be a hack n slash fight of you spamming potions. boss fights should have a lot more twists and turn, like you can only hurt their back, or when they die, a hundred little demons explode from their stomach.
about hell difficulty? i would like to see it just total killing frenzy. blizzard says they want a good single player, but i think that hell should be extremely difficult to complete unless you have a few friends with you.

All I am asking is that you compile your fears into the form of a quest, monster, environment. Describe it to the full extent of your imagination. Here I'll give an example using your fears. You enter a dimly lit tomb that has started to collect water, corpses begin to rise out of the water and stealthily crawl towards you, they shriek as they spring out of the water to attack. Their mangled and distorted forms lurking in the shadows. You come across the main hall its walls lined with casket holes, a demon rises from the water, his entrails hanging out as if he had suffered a fatal wound to the mid section, he raises a mighty staff and utters an incantation, he explodes and the light is sucked out of the room. Then a bright light emanates from all around and the caskets burst into flame, the shrieks of the vampiric horde become unbearable and flaming corpses begin to burst from the walls with unholy speed and they begin their attack. During the fight the flames from their bodies turn blue and their forms distort further until their bloated bodies begin to rupture, spewing a firey toxic ooze (like a flamethrower effect).

I agree that there should be tactical boss fights. But I never really like the bosses with a weak backside, kinda annoying.
(No, the following is NOT how I would torture someone. I find it disgusting but i think thats what you want. =P)
Execution techniques in Medieval Europe...
A friend showed me some pages with the names and descriptions of some methods few days ago. NO idea why he noted those. But they were really damn disgusting.
Heres a good one (im trying to translate so sorry for bad explanation):
Spanish donkey: The victim sits on something shaped like the back of a horse and they tie more and more weight on is feet untill he does rip apart (or his legs...).
It would be funny to come across someone tied to one of those, you talk to him, he gives you a quest and then after you talk to him he rips in half
Id like to something like this. You're deep in a dungeon there haven't been monsters for some time then you walk into a small passageway there is very little light you walk for a bit and hear a loud bang then after a while another one and then big holes are smashed in the wall and monster come pouring out that would not be like super scary but it would be awesome
That wouldn't be very exciting... *Wall smashes down* "wtf!" *zombies walk slowly towards you* "oh lol"
lol Ok *Wall smashes down* BIG HUGE NIGTMARISH THINGS RUSH OUT AND SMASH INTO THE OTHER WALL you curiously investigate it you walk into the wall (it takes you down a secret level) When your screen loads there 34853259427858490275489302758430925784309275849 mosnters surrounding you screaming banging there axes and roaring and the way back gets blocked but you realize this only later as your screamin "HOly shit" clickin your mouse on the way you entered but find it blocked. then you die and start all over
