Though if that happened they would probably just make that into some CGI type video inbetween the acts... Still, be a pretty neat boss battle to fight...
You get to Diablo, He has learned much from the last two encounters with heroes just like us. He waves his hand a huge flame of lava poors in doing damage per second. On top of that he start attacking you heavily. Prerty EPIC fight

We get to the very pits of Hell. We do whatever it is that is requred for Diablo to show up, but instead, a Fallen Shaman shows up. The Fallen Shaman laughs at us, yelling "It is time! You will die!" And of course you make quick work of the Shaman, but it ressurects itself. After the third or fourth time you finnally chuck it off into the lava. By now your irate and start to head home, but then a shadow runs by you. You shake it off and start walking again but the shadow runs by you again. You start to look around but there's nothing there. You start to get nervous, but it's too late, Diablo grabs you in one hand and flings you all the way back to his lair. (Mind you, you walked a good few hundred yards so it's a bit of a toss, but this is Diablo so he can do that.) You get up and shake your head, cursing at yourself for being so stupid. Diablo is then charging you at full speed, and you have to think fast, or you will die. Then, it splits off for each of the classes, and the fight would be different for each class. Diablo would try to keep space between himself and a warrior but try to get up close if your a wizard.

That sounds cool. I would like sience we are using envirments to our advantage I think he should do the same thing. So if we try to go to a corner and regrou and he cant fit or seomthin he can wave his hand and send a wave of lava at us. Or when you regroup and you go out to fight him hes no where to be found so your like "wtf?" you run around and when you lose your guard SMACK out of no where he hurdles into you and sends you flying. (He would run into the melee class and send them flying then attacking the wizard with all he has)

What would simply be genius is fighting Diablo in PITCH BLACK. All you'd have is the glow from the enchantments from your items, and the glow from Diablo's fiery eyes. You'd have to run around in the pitch black darkness, watching closely for the glow of Diablo.

Be careful not to get too close! He'll murder ya.
lol yea that sounds like a huge challenge. When hes at half life though the lights should turn on revealing his terrifying form.

Or maybe give him new spells, to perhaps limit our movements, and forcing us in a certain direction, making the fight a lot harder, as you might not be able to retreat. And I love the idea of Diablo's attacking styles going against what kind of character we have (Ie. going melee against wizards).
I love the day/night cycle in the pokemon games (poke fun at me here), and I'd love it for pretty much any game. It can have such a drastic effect on the atmosphere and feelings of the player. And as someone mentioned, stats could depend on the time of day. More monsters appear at night, they're stronger and more lively. But Wizards get magic bonus damage. And the exact opposite in the daytime, melee gets bonus, less monsters, less lively, less strong. =)
For an atmosphere when facing a boss though, what I'd really love is it to be pitch black as an intro, and a huge strike of lightning hits the ground and the light lets you see some twisted horrid figure for half a second, that creeps the living shit out of you.

I think this will play a fundamental part in Diablo 3. Not only will it make the game more realistic and darker, but it could affect the gameplay a lot fucking more than you may think. I had an idea that maybe certain monsters would only appear at night and that they would disappear when dawn rolled around. So that it would be harder and maybe scarier for some people who played at night. Not to mention you will have more trouble running around with more creatures roaming freely. That's just an idea, but yeah, I would like this see a day and night live cycle in this game.

I like the life I lived, because I went from negative to positive.
You know very well who you are, don't let them hold you down, reach for the stars.
Another idea involving the Day/Night cycle that last about 1 to 2 minutes per day or night.
What if certain bosses only appeared at certain times. Like a "Misteress of the Night" appeared only at night, and used the night to her advantage, while some tall powerful tree weilding giant appeared only during the day as he hunted for food/attacked a neutral town/whatever.
More monsters appear at night, they're stronger and more lively. But Wizards get magic bonus damage. And the exact opposite in the daytime, melee gets bonus, less monsters, less lively, less strong.
That's dumb, if I play the barbarian why would I want less monsters, or less damage when there are more monsters?
I think that there should be a night and day cycle. Maybe have each last about a half an hour?
I like the idea of damage and bonuses changing in concept, but I think it might mess with the flow of the game a little too much. I mean, it would really suck if you had a really awesome unique that was great during the day and then at night it was just another chunk of steel against what you were fighting.
As for the affect on what monsters you see during what times would be great, they definitely should do that. C'mon, how old is Ocarina of Time and that game had differences during night and day.
JUST LEAVE IT LIKE IT WAS IN D2.
It already had day/night cycles, and it was a pretty smooth transition.
What I DON'T want to see is something like a time gauge. A clock like the one in Warcraft 3 was stupid, but I guess it was necessary because of some of the abilities of Night Elves. Still, a sun-dial or somethin' right in the middle of the screen would be dumb.

lol it can still easily be a ranger since who said you cant shoot arrows at melee distance xD

The Barbarian is from Arreat, a very cold snowy mountain top, but they are much tougher than normal humans, so they don't need warmth.

Where are Barbarians originally from? Sumeria, or more specifically Mesopotamia, AKA Europe. Think the Alps and the Pyrenees
No. I actually dont want it.... It would be cool and all, but, its not like your gonna be able to check out the stars in the sky while your playing. Your constantly looking at the ground, and your character from Gods PoV, so its not like it matters.
Now it would be cool if Weather* actually affected gameplay.

Here's what I want, again off the top of my head:

To find the truth, you must risk everything.
What if certain bosses only appeared at certain times. Like a "Misteress of the Night" appeared only at night, and used the night to her advantage, while some tall powerful tree weilding giant appeared only during the day as he hunted for food/attacked a neutral town/whatever.
Bad idea. That damages game balance. Furthermore, magic in Diablo isn't inherently evil (see paladin).
shadows are scary stuff, make the game more evil.

Just my thoughts.
But if we do have day/night cycles, I hope they don't do that thing where you can't go and buy stuff during the night.
It already had day/night cycles, and it was a pretty smooth transition.
