Well at least we got some nice opinions here what people think about multiplaying in battle.net
You call all that bitching about a half truth half mis-informed thread "nice"?
Most of the threads on Dfans.com is starting to sound like Fox news, a bunch of biased, clueless ignorants taking halfs ass quotes out of context and arguing pointlessly over their meaning when they were clearly explained in the full interviews that neither the "thread owner" or the most of the readers didn't take time to read properly. Thank God we do have a few informed folks out here and some moderators... I'd be ashamed if I was the one who had started this thread or similar ones and even more ashamed of telling them how they "did a good job, we got some nice progress in here". When the whole thing was totally redundant and just ended up as a big "Oops", sorry I didn't finish the interview, I'll go and do that now.
I'm going to quote the kind of stupidity we see all the time:
Why should we be forced to play with people who we don't know?
Did anyone force you to make a public game? Did Blizz say you could not control your party or leave it prior to game creation..? Did anyone make you go on Bnet instead of single player..? Do you even know why they implemented this feature, or even bother to check? Have you ever done so before complaining, doubtfully...
Go around the forums and try to find a hot creative thread....then compare it with a hot hating or complaints thread and check out the huge difference in views/replies. It's getting to the point where it's rediculous. If I was Blizz I would be like "And why are we giving fan interviews in the first place....Oh yeah! we are marketing our games..." Screw updating the fans since all they do is find ways to misinterpret our words and complain about a game that they will all obviously be buying and love playing.
If half the people on this website tried to be creative, instead of bitching all day and pretending to know and understand the process of game making better than the folks at Blizz, Shit I think Blizzard would nearly have finished the game aready with so much help from the community. But unfortunately the truth is most of what they see and hear are empty complaints and uneducated ramble...
Sad.

Online people are not a bunch of My Little Ponies, who just want friends and to play happily together. Battle.Net is composed of whiners, griefers, beggars, and more.
I can already see the potential for abuse. PKer guy joins a game, auto-parties up, sees where the rest of the players are, finds them, hostiles and kills them.
That's a MUCH better solution then having to force said PKer to find the people which gives them plenty of time to town portal or leave the game.
And what of the server lag caused by "Giev SOJ PLZ!!!11" players who are constantly getting booted and joining games, causing those with slightly slower connections to be unable to join the game that was made?
Its head in the sand mentality combined with massive naivete. Truly, sad.

Well the quote I had in my first post is from dii.net you can check the link there. And at that point they only had news about "interview with JW" It didn't explain the task so clearly. "antigriefing system" that doesn't tell much about it. The news pointed more to the autoinvite system.
Did anyone force you to make a public game?
Well if I want to play in a full games in battle.net I kinda have to if none of my friends happen to be online. That doesn't mean I want to party with every stranger in battle.net
Did Blizz say you could not control your party or leave it prior to game creation..?
Not really, they didn't really comment the thing more specific. "We definately need some kind of anti griefing system" now if we don't even have the party menu, what kind of system it will be? How do I leave party without the menu in the first place?
Did anyone make you go on Bnet instead of single player..?
These questions are just retarded. Everytime some tard comes and throws these around. Just like someone complained about the respec system "Who forces you to respec" ehh. If there are options, people will use them eventually because otherwise they would miss out something that others enjoy.
So why would I play alone when I can play Bnet. As I said a few times Party play is ok when I do it with people I know. I don't like to do it with bunch of asshats that doesn't have a clue about the game. I do have experience of ~4 months of D2 singleplayer when it was released in 2000 and compared to Battle.net solo play it loses 100-0. In battle.net even if you solo and I do know many that solo there, you have the chat community/ladder/pvp/trading. It is not all about being partied with everyone and making overpowered 8player parties to 1 area hundreds of times in a row.
Do you even know why they implemented this feature, or even bother to check?
I know it now after they put up the interview video. To prevent all the hassle at the start of the game and the "pp" spam and their problems of not getting into party in less than 10 seconds. Tbh those idiots that spam "pp" when they enter the game and after 5 seconds they leave, don't deserve to get any kind of co-op experience. If they are unpatient to wait over 10 seconds when others are having a tough fight or something, how are they patient enough to do long quests? Imo I want to know beforehand what kind of people are in my party, those spammers and other idiots were easy to spot before inviting them. With autoinvite, how do I spot a good friendly player from the idiots, in any case I have to spend some time with them just to find out I get backstabbed with insults and what not.
Have you ever done so before complaining, doubtfully...
I think this is the first time I complaing something about D3 so.. I cant comment on that.

Maybe you should have made your own thread for this whine? Now this seems like I'm the biggest complainer in these forums, which I'm not. I'm probably the biggest defender of the awesome game that we are going to experience in the future.
If half the people on this website tried to be creative, instead of bitching all day and pretending to know and understand the process of game making better than the folks at Blizz, Shit I think Blizzard would nearly have finished the game aready with so much help from the community. .
Maybe you should stop bitching about the bitchers.. you make this forum bad! Imo you are totally over generalizing. Imo the complain threads have been cut down by 90% or something. Sure there are a few more now again that we got new info but the complainers are gone after a few weeks.
I only had to watch the first minute of the interview to see that its all political doublespeak.
How exactly did they "find" the interface to be unecessary? Have they even played their own game?
I can already see the potential for abuse. PKer guy joins a game, auto-parties up, sees where the rest of the players are, finds them, hostiles and kills them.
Well there won't be PKing. And he said it was an unnecessary barrier to partying people together. And I agree, there have been many instances where various players join a game and spam "pp" and usually after 5-10 seconds of not getting partied, they leave the game to fidn another.
Are we seriously complaining about this? It's the same as Diablo 2, except you start partied, then you can leave the party, as opposed to starting unpartied.. then having to get invited.

Yeah well not anymore since the video came up and clarified the situation a bit more. But there still lies some questions about game creation, partying, party managing, player managing in the games etc. I guess we get more answers when SC2 and battle.net 2 is up.
I didn't have a chance to read through all the previous posts so I may be reiterating something someone has already said.
I wonder if one of the features they intend to "monetize" will be the ability to purchase arenas for pvp play. P2PvP???? Just a quick thought. Your thoughts on that subject?

No, I understand that... but the post I was replying to was made after the video, and he said he saw it.

It wont be like that. In a recent interview with Rob Pardo, Rob said that they will only be monetizing features of Battle.Net that aren't in the game, like realm transfers and name changes.
Its a trainwreck. I mean really 4 player Co-op with auto party god this is horrible.
Rob Pardo said in a different interview that they're looking at 8 players right now... 4 was for the demo. And its auto party when you join... but you can leave if you wish, and they're going to come up with booting system.
Get real, folks, the diablo you all knew is dead, a few years ago i said right here in this forum that D3 had a pretty good chance of being blizzard first bust (i was flamed to death ofc), and what you know, its not even beta and its already looking that way.
Handholding for babies.
This isn't what Diablo is about, boo Jay, boo.
You only liked D2 because it was a Troll heaven. Some people like the game for its planned mechanics, not because some jerk like you will come to grief me and I'll enjoy that.
Handholding for babies.
This isn't what Diablo is about, boo Jay, boo.
Yeah, its sad to see hostility go =[. At least there will still be PvP and a focus on it though, instead of it feeling like it was just slapped on right away.
Nah, cause then i would like you and i don't.
I don't like handholding and i don't need to explain myself further.
Well you are exactly an example why some people would like D3 as a P2P game. This way they found a middle ground: it's not P2P, but trolls can't ruin peoples' game either.
my question is pretty simple:
why join a public game if you dont want to group up with people?
whenever i wanted to do anything on my own, i made a private game.
Did they talk about the /player command as it was in Diablo 2 single-player? It would be one way to solo a game without grouping with people, but having the xp boost you would in a full game. With the game being more difficult as the downside.
Blizzard's gonna make this work....don't worry about it. There will be special stuff for PvP. You'll be able to password games. You'll be able to level restrict and set max players when you make a game. You'll probably even be able to control the difficulty via the /players command...maybe even have that as an option when creating the game.
I really don't see the reason to be all kinds of reactionary when we have NONE of the info excepting a tiny little snippet. It's Blizzard guys...they are who they are because of the fact that they come through.
This is the first time since D3 announcement that i will say this.
Blizzard killed the diablo franchise.
Change the site name, cause this is no longer Diablo.
ignorant answer.
dablo 2 was hardly anything like diablo 1.
both great games.
diablo 2 is coming upon 10 years old. (probably will be 10 when they reslease)
games over the last 10 years ave evolved.
jst because its not Diablo II 2 doesnt mean it not diablo.
