Well I apologize for not being more clear. I think you're telling the truth. Jay Wilson's assumption implies that you must be telling a lie. Mr. Wilson says that people are so scared of player killers that they play alone. But if that's not true then why get rid of hostility?
Well I suppose they are really heading for co-op with good spirit in this game. In hardcore I didn't co-op with anyone. Mostly with friends, if they were not around I just soloed. But it doesn't mean I was scared, just avoided the situations where I might lose a char.
Some people are totally dumb in nowadays LOD Hc. They make baalruns in normal at levels 30-40 and invite these 80 level sorcs/amas to party only to get tppkd. So obiosly these people are not cautious or scared
Anyways this open hostily and PK also encourages the idiots to find ways to cheat/exploit/scam. When the option is not there we have less cheats/exploits.
They fixed that too. They made it so things like hydras, traps, guided arrow, fire wall, and other spells and abilities that linger are removed when players move around using way points.

Source? I still dont see how it stops someone from killing you as soon as you hop out of a wp.
It's impossible to kill someone that way because the person would have to go down the way point after you. Meaning you have time to react.
That's only completely irrelevant. They don't want people to join your game and use up your precious slots just to hostile you all of a sudden. That would kind of be retarded. If you want to quest you quest, if you want to PvP you PvP. They're just keeping those two things separate to cut down on the amount of trolls that enjoy the game just for trolling. If you're not a troll you shouldn't have a problem with this at all.
It was bad enough that D2 was completely free play for everyone - they shouldn't add trolling possibilities on top of that.
This is beginning to sound like the Hellgate boards.

So much overdramatic whining, based on tiny snippits of information that can't possibly give you enough perspective on the game to have a meaningful understanding of extremely complex aspects of the game's design.

Bad enough that D2 was free play? That's why D2 was a great game, the game allows people many freedoms. Freedom to develop characters as individuals and freedom on battle.net to congregate. D3 is just taking freedoms away one by one and Jay is saying, "THIS is how we play."
Some people like to just play PvM, some like to play PvP, some like to PK. The PKing interferes with others PvMing.
I realize that in Diablo 2 Pking was often annoying because it was done with overpowered, higher level, sometimes exploitative means. If they fix the exploits and allow for level restrictions when making games then there's no reason to get rid of hostility. Like i've said, it's one of those necessary evils that make Diablo what it is.
It makes part of the new Blizz's philosophy of 100% 'healthy games''.

I like to play D2 multiplayer legit and no rush. Rushes take all the fun out of this game. I like looking at drops, killing monsters and challenge. I know the normal difficulty is a breeze, but you and 4 or 5 friends doing Hell difficulty is a really fun time. Anything that D3 does to promote partying is fine by me. I can't even get people to join my games when I'm rolling a new character because there is always "no rush" in the title. I'd like to start on a clean slate in D3 and hope that the community really embraces the new features. Multiplay dungeon crawling is what Diablo is about for me. I can't wait to once again be a part of the Diablo community that is thriving instead of isolating itself.
Cautious of tppk, which is cheating, he's rightly cautious of cheaters. Tppk is no longer possible so that's a mute point.

I don't anyone is really AFRAID to be PKd it's just a waste of time and annoying.
Some people like to just play PvM, some like to play PvP, some like to PK. The PKing interferes with others PvMing.
Then JW is wrong.
