so i was wondering why we havent seen any stats of diablo 3. will they be the same? will they be similier? what new ones oculd there be? so i decided to start a thread about it...
so anyone have any ideas of stats for dibalo 3?
and ya elixer of willpower? who knows. maybe it like stamina potion... but yes state your ideas.
Intelligence, Wisdom, and all this stuff just sucks. It sounds like "Sorry, this helmet requires 98 intellect, you're too stupid to wear it"
i dont see what's wrong with it.. it's a good system so why are you bashing it? here give this a try.. try.. really try to create a system different and post it. wouldnt want a magic nuker running around in heavy gear..
I have heard a Blizzard employee say that certain items like "boots with endurance" and "chest armor with health". Can't find exact quote but I will search for it. Maybe they broke it down to not having one thing (strength) count for so much and maybe just upgrade them individually? (like strength and than a seperate stat for AR?) I'd like to see the stamina changed to endurance. Makes it more unique to Diablo, most games are based on stamina now days, endurance just sounds better.

Yah, i've read that somewhere also. But um, yah intellect, I don't like it personally.
I just wonder if you're going to put points in status (like D1 and D2) or the points are spent automatically (like in wow). Personally i prefer D1/D2 system by far. A little more constumisation and makes all the level uping thing more fun.

if thats the case they might as well change the game name to something else because diablo is all about bashing monsters and move forward.
It's not you who decides what diablo is about. It is blizz. If they want to make a cockroach porn movie and call it diablo, they will.

Diablo 1 wasnt "being invincible and running forward". That all came with Diablo II and made the game pretty boring if you didnt find some "goal" for yourself, as mfing (as i did) or doing Uber Tristram (as many more) or PvP/PK (as some others).
The PvE content other than the things i mentioned was very much ridiculous, except maybe on Hell difficulty that was very unbalanced with all the immunities, especially for casters without Infinity - which should be the majority. In single-player even impossible.
now back on topic, i dont really think that "intellect" etc will be requirements to use items. More likely that the strength thats required for caster items will be much, much lower and the items will have low to no armor and/or almost no stats to benefit a melee character class. I'd hate to have to fight with barbarians for gear as a Witch Doctor (for example).
the things that change will hopefully make things more interesting without making it impossible for casual players (as it is for soloing in Hell single-player). Its a hard thing to balance that stuff but i sure hope they get it right.
To tell youthe truth i would like to have a re-amped statchart withy new and old stats only i hope they make everyone aqualy important witch wasnt the case in D2
Having only direct status, like Attack Rating, Defense, HP, MP and Damage. When you level up you invest direct in one those and not in anything that will increase then.
Ex:
You lvl up and put 5 points in HP, not 5 Points in Vitality.

Stupid idea. Your Str should both boost your damage and allow you to wear heavier gear. Why would I ever want to put more points in stamina and not life, given that vitality gets split into two. Just as energy effects both your mana and your mana regeneration rate. Also, each class benefits differently in different fields, so a Sorceress will gain more mana from energy and less health from vitaliity, whereas Barbarian recieves five health for each point invested in vitality. I don't see how tearing this system would make things better, for everyone would just try to maximize things they have to have.

I hope there are no permanent elixirs like in Diablo 1. Very imbalanced.

"Well, where's Lam Esem's Tome?"
It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
i was thinking the same think. "what, i arent smart enuff to wear dis iteem?"
what about stamina? we saw that in diablo 2. is it in diablo 3? we know a skill for barb uses stamina. maybe that will be a stat.

as you said it, brother!

Well quest rewards yea sure, like Lam Esem's or the elixir of health from Alkor or the scroll from Malah, but not monster drops.
But how?

I kind of think willpower will be replacing energy though.
