You don't enjoy them because you have no imagination (yes I played a badass MUD for like 10 years of my life on/off). So ya, graphics don't mean too much to me. I can be wowed initially, but ultimately it comes down to gameplay for staying power.
Dude, you have no idea how much imagination I have or don't have, don't make assumptions.
I think the reason why I don't enjoy text based games is because I already have an imagination, so I don't need to play text-based games. Like, I can think of scenarios all I want in my mind but the real joy I get from playing games is being able to actually see and hear my imagination come to life.

It's witnessing someone else's imagination. Just like say when you read a book, LOTR for example you create an image of the characters in your head, then when you watch the movie those characters look different and sound different. Thats because when you're watching a movie you are witnessing someone elses imagination and how they viewed the characters. It was a bit of a stretch to say you had no imagination though. Sorry for the off topic.
Imagination scale...person who watches tv < person who listens to radio < person who reads < person who writes
Well, I enjoyed a number of purely textual adventures and loved some of them, but D3 is not a textual adventure and that's the end of that story. They could also put a black square in front of your character so it doesn't interfere with your imagination.
games change as the series progresses, or else you just end up with the same game with new items and crap....not many people want that.
personally im not too big on the new invetory screen either. the stained glass isnt that bad but what i miss is each item is where is would be equiped on the player. helmet on top, armor underneath, weapon/shield to each side, etc. but the trade-off to that is that you now have a cool looking closer view of your char, so im not gunna complain...much

(this build was before D3 launched... looking back on it now - i had no idea what i was doing)
There's no need to display 3D model in the middle since you can already see that on the screen. To do this they have sacrificed the original inventory model that showed your items overlayed on the body where they would fit. That screen was really nice, it did a great job of letting you "feel" the items on you...
Now all the items are the same boring size, and theres no inventory juggling..which was just kind of neat before.
This may be the biggest disappointment in D3 for me..
I like the new inventory system the clas has a liquidy fire feel to it, and i like seeing how the items will look on my character. My only concern is that it looks like the picture of the armor in the inventory is not based on the specific piece, but on the type. F.e. the shoulder pads all have the same picture, the helmets all have the same picture.......

They're already changing it, making the icons bigger, adding artwork, yadda yadda. Whatever, just to please the crybabies. They should invent art pieces that take up entire inventory page so you can see the detail on it. The only problem in D2 was that most unique items shared the same old graphics so I don't see the point being able to study the detail.

Eh..they've already changed it? To what? Show a screenshot please
A) I think it looks awesome! The stained-glass feel is just really cool, imo
If you have a stone fetish - there's stone on the side and stone underneath the barb's feet
C) I kinda agree about the logo though... what beats a fiery logo?
