Well, we're noticed as an official fansite by Blizzard. Not sure how far that will take us, though. Do you mean like, we're not "Blizzard" owned, per say?
Blizzard has no say over us. There are no Blizzard moderators. There is no big blue "BLIZZARD" on any of the account names. Blizzard is not officially in us, thus we are not officially an official fansite.

I doubt this will change anything, Diablofans.com is mentioned so much all over the internet that the attention on this site will not die unless the admins try to put in stupid little games (Unless they could add a flash version of Diablo *Copy right denial probably*)
Anonymous invaded Blizzard Forums. It's just a bunch of angsty kids up to no good. I don't see any worth in weighing in what is said in Blizz Forums.
It might just be me being a diablo 3 skeptic, but I'd like to know which forums the Diablo 3 team is observing and how much they visit said forums.
It'd be nice if the blizzard team would give credit to the communities that have contributed in some way to generating content and features too.
1) Diablofans.com is the main place people can whine and cry and flame and troll, as the moderators do very little about them, thus when Diablo 3 is released and people LIKE the game, the whiners will become fewer and fewer, and the forums will return to what it originally was before the announcement.
2) Anonymous...nevermind...
3) The D3 team has most likely not looked at our site, and is probably not permitted. They keep there workers under a tight leash at Blizzard.
4) Diablofans.com has contriubute... Well we contributed... Umm... Well we have that petition...though that isn't that positive... Umm... What did we contributed?...
i dont know about that, threads like this are needed to see whats wrong in the forum, and in case anything is wrong (seems to be the case here), how it can be fixed.
its about time the iron fist rules over the people that come here and say nothing but bad things about the game, its time for mods to start saying " dont like the game? go play something else" and ban the crap out of them in case they keep doing it.
I tell you one thing, if I was a mod, there would be at least a thousand people banned right now.
I'd like to see anyone who's first post is about Wow vs D3 or D3 graphics or any common troll things be auto-banned.

1) What if D3 lets the fans down?
2) anon nm.
3) Which sadly seems to be the truth when you look at how they replied to criticism. One of the biggest reasons it isn't getting any better imo.
4) You're an idiot, seriously, i just have to tell you that. WTF.
1) Diablo 3 will not let fans down. Most people are quite happy about what they have seen. Remember, the smaller the group, the bigger the voice.
2) What?
3) Blizzard probably doesn't want them influenced either, which was what I was leaning towards. But your point is true too.
First off, would Blizzard be childish enough to take us off their homepage because a few of the members didn't like certain parts of Diablo III?
I agree, and ironically... and well fittingly, it's childish to assume Blizzard would do this. I could understand why they would take it off because of this sites flaws... I mean there are people spouting hyperbole bias, and stating opinions as fact, and all sorts of illogical/ignorant nonsense. I barely even glance at some of the new threads now because it's always the same misinformed assumptions or horrible bias, childish behaviour...
I mean these are the same sort of people that think Blizzard would remove this website "because they don't like people who don't like diablo 3"... It has nothing to do with opinion and everything to do with attitude.

maybe there wasnt many people going to the link. they can probably find this out somehow. i dont know. but it could be possible that because not many people were coming to this site from the link. they concluded that why does it need to be there. but i say just wait.
People have the right to discuss what they do and do not like about the Diablo series, including Diablo III. If people didn't have negative opinions this would be a very boring place. I'm guessing the only thing people have against this is... Hm... I had a thought there, but I lost it. Oh well.
Point being, people have just as much a right to say why they do not like it as they do how they do like it. I guess it's just how they go about saying it, or their lack of thorough reasoning thereof, or something of that nature.

As have been said before, there is a line between criticizing a game, and immaturely hating it. And that line is nowhere near thin.
They're issues that the fans are going to have to get over. In fact, I'm 100% sure they will once they actually play the game. Do you know how many people were complaining about Diablo II before it came out? About the bright deserts, the colorful jungles? There were many. And now I'm pretty sure all of them will admit it was a great game for its time. It still had it's issues, but it was not nearly as bad as they were imagining it would be.
And for everyone's good:

Yeah, I have no problem with that. The issue here is the absolutes and extremes.
If you really want us to ban everyone who disagrees with Blizzard or critisizes them in any way... we would be banning most people in this thread too. We would even be banning Siaynoq.
This is not a dictatorship. People are allowed to be critical. Whoever said this before is right: its the way they go about being critical that makes the difference. If you're just going to be a bitch about it then sure, you'll get banned.
You know, when working in a team, critisizing is actually a good thing. If everyone just agreed on whatever the leader says (whether they truly agree or not), then the team would give the leader a false impression that what they are doing is good. Conflict sparks evolution and improvement. Without conflict, everything would be stale.
I think its downright ridiculous to pick apart Diablo III, based on nothing more than a 20 minute gameplay demo and some interviews.
1. The game isn't anywhere near completion, and before it is completed, you can bet that there will be changes to what we've alreadly seen.
2. How can we judge a game by watching it? We haven't played it - we have no idea what the gameplay is like in our hands.
3. Blizzard has taken all these years to assure a successful art style, and all we can say to that is. "BOO!"? That is so disrespectful it almost makes me sick. How many hours did you put into Diablo I? How many into Diablo II? Let me guess, the hours you put into Diablo II are substantially more - and guess what - the artwork is COLORFUL. Diablo III actually has detail now - not just a spamming of bright colors such as Diablo II. And if you paid attention to one of the latest interviews with Jay Wilson - he says that the footage in the gameplay trailer is probably the most "cheerful" environments you'll see in Diablo III. Things will get darker as Hell invades, don't worry.
4. Health Globes. Okay, I admit, when I first learned about these, I was a little pissed off, but after hearing how the Diablo team wants to use them to create more challenge and eliminate potion spamming, I was all for it. Do you seriously want to sit at the front of a mob spamming potions until the mob is dead while you are still standing in the same spot? That's not fun - especially when Havok physics are involved. You're going to want to run around and smash enemies into all possible areas and obstacles of the map, and in order to do that, you need to move. And while health orbs promote movement, I have a feeling that it will be a lot more fun than chugging potions in an idle position. Don't bash it until you try it.
Really, the best thing you guys can do is just not flame or troll anyone else here. I have seen some of you get a little too worked up over it and act just like the type of people you are describing. Thats really the only thing you can do.
If this would have been prevented from the beginning, people wouldn't be talking in such extremes now.
Doppel, now you're being a bitch. The only way that would have been possible is if we shut down the entire site. Even if it was possible, complaining about the past does not at all help the future.

Basically the same stuff I (and many others) have been trying to point out in all the rediculous claims... You're allowed to disagree... but the people that do, more often than not, do not do so in a constructive manor... they insult people, they state their reasoning on faulty ideals "this is like wow", "you don't need to differentiate every enemy from the background" and they almost never engage in logical/rational arguments....
Then when they are defeated by logic they use the "I'm entitled to my own opinion" (when in fact they usually have't stated an opinion) or "you are just a blizz fan boi" or "I'm allowed to criticize, not everyone is bias towards blizzard..." (when in fact they are the ones biased for whatever they are arguing.
Like they try to take the debatting high ground when in fact they are on the low ground as all of their excuses are a bunch of hypocrasy and they still haven't offered any constructive criticism...

you know what. this site is not run by Blizzard, so it doesn't really make any sense that a link to it is posted on the main official site - unless all other fan sites are posted there as well.
unless diablofans.com had an agreement with Blizzard to post it there, it was simply a courtesy gesture for allowing Blizzard to purchase the domain name from diablofans.com which at the time was called diablo3.com.
this site will do fine without referrals from the official site.
But I feel like we are the jews that lost God's favor(according to the bible that is) lol.

We do not need their favor. This will always be a Diablo fansite and fanbase, and a large one, at that. What they decide to do is their own business- we have our newcomer sparks and we have our downtimes. But for years, we've always been a self-existant site, without publicity from Blizzard. Don't get me wrong, being recognized by them as an official fansite is great (and we sitll are recognized as such), and having our own little link was nice (and it's still to be proven if this is permanent or not), but we need neither, in all realty.

Apparently that isn't necessary. See this link- it leads to our listing in their official fansites database: http://www.sclegacy.com/links/showlink.php?do=showdetails&l=91&catid=9
