The devs said they are shooting for an adult rating. They said from the beginning that Diablo is a mature game and they intend to keep it that way. UGH! I hate ignorance.
No developer in their right mind would want to shoot for an AO rating. If you want to kill your game before it even starts then that is a good reason right there. No retailer, even most online retailers, won't sell AO rated games. You would have to get it from some lowbrow store or off of ebay. If you want your game to sell copies you don't try to get an AO rating. Hence why Manhunt 2 downplayed some of their more graphic scenes.
I think you misunderstood the dev's, by adult they mean Mature - M ( 18+ ) and by the way, in order to get an AO rating, you'd have to have prostitution, strong sexual themes, and managing a quest line about getting laid ( Which I don't see happening in Diablo 3 ) known as the " Hot Coffee " quest line in Grand theft auto San Andreas, basically all the copies were pulled from the shelves, and forced to use an AO rating until they took the material out which they did, although people found a way to crack into it again, and also created the exact mod of it.

No, I am sorry by my wording. I ment mature. After all mature is already 17+, the AO rating is a joke really (AO is 18+ btw).
