It seems like they are giving a contest opportunity to every fansite or something. Diablo-source has one on skills, and Diablo-Armory had one on Characters I think, and so on. Perhaps it would be a good idea to list all those different contests?

I haven't played WoW in a couple of months. I got bored with the content and didn't want to struggle in raids to get gear thats going to be replaced with greens in Wrath. I'd start back up again to do some recon for Wrath's release. Having a Tyrael pet would be pretty badass.
I read through half of the entries for the contest. Did anyone forget about the storyline, lore, and the world around you? Apparently.
75% of people said something about Trading, Pvp battleground oriented matches, or an Auction House. Or more so something about the economy.
I haven't played d3 yet, but its already been stated that there is an invasion of sanctuary. Hell is breaking loose literally. Theres not gonna be an economy where people come to trade their wares and items around. Its not a d3 thing. Your trying to turn WoW (an MMO, and I love me some wow) into d3, and its NOT d3. Thats what makes d2 special. It wasn't like any other blizz game. Your a hero, (or villian) running around with other people trying to save the 'world'. The best loot, weapons, and things, are not gonna be sold. Their gonna be kept. There is no bank, there is your own cache of items, and things you have collected. Even if there was some sort of Auction House, it couldn't be multiple towns, and it couldn't be unique items, or super special items. In a lore sense, people wouldn't go sell these things, they would be priceless in the diablo world. WoW is a great game but its an MMO, and MMO's mess with storyline and lore, and take the fun out of the storyline. D2 managed to do all kinds of cool stuff, without doing that. So be realistic about it. You had fun with D2, you guys spend so much time on D2. You played it without an Auction House, or Bank, or economy trade whatever. And unlike WoW, anyone could get the drops, percentage could be low, but you could find them. And there is a single player mode. So be content with that, they will give us an amazing D3, but don't try and ruin the storyline and lore, or ruin it for yourself by trying to get an Auction House. That would cheapen the game so much.
Im sick of seeing one post wonders join up and post to try to win something
There should be some restrictions to the contest - such as being here > 1 month and having 100 posts at least. Its a competetion for this forum - not anyone who decides to come here and try to win. IMO.
edit: i counted 35 one post wonders who joined just to try to win something for nothing.
Being a diablo fan, or any fan, doesn't have anything to do with Forum posts. Did you consider or ask if I read diablofan.com a lot. Even then, reading diablofans.com doesn't make me a fan. Playing diablo and enjoying it makes me a fan.
The fact it appears your trying to say, is that I don't post on the forums at all, so I don't deserve to get a prize they that they are giving away. Well the forum post was not made for those who post a lot, or for the people (i.e. I'm gonna guess you) who spend a lot of time on the forum all the time. Well it wasn't. Clearly stated its for Creative suggestions about the game, hopefully being forwarded to the developers. Its feedback.
So I'm reading d3fans like I read it normally, see that, I jump at the opportunity to
A. Put forth a creative suggestion, something I felt would be good to be in the game.
B. I am a diablo fan, and I do play wow, a tyrael pet, would be appealing to me.
You post more often in the forums, so your thinking you deserve the prize more than me, when this is all online, pretty much anonymous, and you know inkling of anything about me, as you stated I have very few posts. Your using that fact, to try and say you are more of fan because you post more in the forums. Well that doesn't make you a fan.
That makes you a forum poster.
I don't really care to continous this, I hope you see my point. If you do great, no more problems. I'd rather spend my time doing constructive things, heh, or playign Diablo 2 or wow, rather than post.
PS: when I said you think you deserve it more than me, thats not to say I deserve it more, I know that I don't know you, and that you may be a fan more so than me. Even still, all people are equal.
A lot of the 1-posters were redirected to this site from others, in-turn this site gains more members and viewership. I cannot speak to the numbers, but I imagine a fair amount, like myself, were casual lurkers, who before the actual possibility of D3 came to light... just liked to check in.
If you are a lurker, you dont deserve shit. Lurkers just creep me out. Its like being watched through a one way mirror. People that have actually contributed to the site deserve it, creepy people that lurk in the shadows dont, simple as that:P

When I saw
"Simply be creative and post one or more detailed suggestions or your personal wishes for the Diablo 3 Team ... What do you want to see in Diablo 3 concerning Trading features and PvP features. Post them below."
I took that to mean we were supposed to post on those topics. =)

So if your idea is horrible, yet you've contributed to this site, you still deserve to win anyway?
So if your idea is horrible, yet you've contributed to this site, you still deserve to win anyway?
I'm just saying that "contributing member" should be the only criteria for this competition. I dont really want to win, cause I dont play WoW, but I can think of a few people that deserve recognition for their contributions in the past. I have a firm belief that our past contributions were taken into consideration by the Diablo 3 design team, and that if it weren't for our constant presence, Diablo 3 my have never come to fruition.
That being said, I doubt someone with less than 100 posts will win.
To participate in the contest to get one of twenty WWI Cards read the rules.

Seriously though, that post was meaningless, and don't take that personally.

lets reiterate that
Diablo Fans.
I think its very selfish. ITs supposed to be for the people of the forum - not anyone who finds it and wants free stuff.

All of your posts relate to the contest. Sad, really. IT doesnt express that you are a diablo fan, but a selfish person looking for something for almost nothing.
