please reread my last post. Im not talking about my ideal, or your ideal, im talking about they're ideal, blizzards ideal. Your arguing against the assumptions your making about what im saying, not what im actually stating.
The past tense is valid and important as it relates to blizzards ideal, not my own, nor anyone elses. The change to present tense, with the influences of war3 and wow further correspond to blizzards ideal. If it was my opinion, it would be present tense, and id have stated it as my opinion. I am not as self-centered as you are assuming.

The past graphics may have been Blizzard North's ideal setting but it's not Blizzards.
Well they weren't really the same company, they produced very different games, which I guess is what you're pointing out.
It was more like separate companies under the same name.
I was always under the assumption it worked much like different branches of the same office. The company i work for has a branch south of my office, as well as one in a city east and north of ours. I work for the main office, and each office works independently; but we are all the same company.
Im going to look it up and see
Regardless, its the ideal of the makers that determines how the game is made, not the fans.

Well they were the same company but they produced very different things.
so on that ground, lets just wow it all up. wow everything up. The WHOLE game industry should just be wowified.
this is a quote from like three whole pages back, but i had to bring this back to the surface because it made absolutely no sense. Which country are you in where they teach Big Shoulder Pads= total World of Warcraft clone in math class?
In that sense, than the art direction has nothing to do with it whatsoever. Just the shoulder pad size itself.
kinda splitting hairs. same company in my book then. Companies are always split into teams to produce different titles or work on different projects.

sorry, i was being silly just going overboard with the idea that enough little differences eventually significantly alter and/or change the whole.
That petition is so funny, really, it's hilarious. They don't want to try something new. I doubt Blizzard would care if they lost 60,000 buyers, when they're gonna gain tenfold that number in new gamers. I bet you all those who signed it are gonna buy the game, lol if you think they won't.
See, that's where you're wrong. We DO want something new, what we DON'T want is old ideas already implemented in WoW.
If you think an idea coming from WoW constitutes it as NEW just because it wasn't in DIABLO, then your opinion really doesn't matter because this is a Diablo fansite, not a WoW fansite.

It may still be fun, but it will be World of Diablo.
]AND this is diablo we are talking about, it should take influence from it self, or games that share with it in term of feel
some people dont see a problem with it, but people that claim a game to stick to its roots have more right imo
Diablo 2 took and improved on Diablo 1. WoW took and improved on Diablo 1 and Diablo 2. Diablo 3 took and improved on Diablo 1,WoW, and Diablo 2.
But no, the people working on WoW are not the same people working on Diablo 3. They are completely different teams. (Thats why there isn't a WC4 in development, the RTS team is working on SC2.)

The departure of the "ideal" style so to speak happened when Blizzard North shut down. On that note I don't think that Blizzard North's style was Ideal for Diablo, only different. It's what we are used to and so we consider it ideal, but I like the way Diablo3 seems to be shaping up and think the new art (Blizzard style) will fill in nicely.
It's what we are used to! Fucking exactly! Fucking people are afraid of fucking change!
Yes, it will not be Diablo 2 but prettier, it is a NEW GODDAMNED GAME.
Fuck it, it's like talking to a brick wall. Except a brick wall is smarter...

Condor was a VERY different company. While they only produced three games that I am aware of (D1, D2, and Justice League Task Force), they were completely different then Blizzard with it's mostly RTS games. Then Blizzard purchased Condor, renaming it Blizzard North, thus bringing into Blizzard the ability to sell RPG's affectively. Then, with Blizzard North's knowhow Blizzard was capable of eventually taking the Diablo feel and injecting it into Warcraft, bringing us what we have today.

Okay what IDEA from D3 has been taken directly from WoW?
And whats a alternative way of doing things for that specific idea?

noone thinks any of this is new, simply because it's really too late to come up with anything like that. For example, ask anyone to think up a new class idea. It's either piss poor or ripped off of another video game/t.v. show/book. Can you think of a single idea that hasn't been done?
oh, and avanent, don't be sorry, we all go overboard sometimes :-)
Don't take this the wrong way...but...god your a dumbass...
Don't take this the wrong way...but...fuck you.
How are you going to DIRECTLY insult someone and tell them not to take it the wrong way? Just because you can't fucking understand my point doesn't give you the right to flame someone.
I don't care how many posts you have, asshole. Fuck off.

I understand your point but please tell me what idea was DIRECTLY taken from WoW and how could they improve upon it without it being taken from another game.
I think theres no doubt that they could easily have made it look much better for every true Diablo fan.
Dragon Age looks really very cool BTW.
- Classes are like in Diablo (1).
- Group of 4 characters; Hero (you) + 3 NPC's.
- Combat is pause-and-command, strategic. Like in Baldur's Gate.
- Camera wiev is third-person when zoomed in, isometric when zoomed out.
Cool feature: Element interactions. Blizzard spell can put out fire, fire spell can ignite grease from 'grease' spell.
Supposed to be the true spirital ancestor of Baldur's Gate. Lets just hope it doesnt end up like HG:L.
It looks quite amazing. But didnt it say it was the spiritual successor to Baulders gate rather then the spiritual ancestor?

I didn't mean what I said offensively, just, yea... You...well never mind...
By the way, take my post points away, it won't change who I am or how I think.
Besides...look what you said... Come on... Come on...

The coloring of the item names, (I vaguely remember seeing an item name in blue/purple) the inventory/bag system, the skill hotbar, possibly the new dependency on gold, just to name a few.

Blizzard, blizzard north; technicality. Two branches, same company. I mean blizzard collectively; not by branch.
But yes, true.

It still can't be excellent for everyone, and if you attempt to make it excellent for everyone then new groups that are displeased will pop up.
Some people think it's excellent now. We still have the "okay" and "displeased" groups though.

DIABLO ONE AND TWO!!!!
And what happened to gold and yellow? Nowhere to be found, AFAIK.
