For those of you who haven't played or know about Warcraft III or WoW, Blink is a teleport-like skill that works on a long cooldown. This prevents extended kiting by teleportation and makes for easier balancing for devs when it comes to caster vs. melee PvP.
I want to hear the Diablo communities opinion of implementing Blink rather than teleport to Diablo III's TBA mage class.

Why can't a heterosexual guy tell a heterosexual guy that he thinks his booty is fly?
The reason I even raise the question though is because teleport had become so broken by v1.09 that they had to implement Enigma in v1.10 to balance all the classes in PvP. This was an easy fix to the problem, but with more time, it's probable that we will see a different solution. I think that Blink is a likely alternative.

First of all, you should really do a search before posting a new thread like this. There's been a few on this exact topic
I'm unaware of a search function on this website, and I checked the two pages of topics prior to posting this to make sure I wasn't repeating anything recent. Sorry for the repetition.

Teleport is a cool evasive skill, I'd say maybe you could put a cooldown but only after like 3 or 4 uses in a row. This way it still looks like the teleport we're use to while making rushes less efficient.
What the hell is the difference between teleport and blink? (don't say cooldown)
If the only thing is cooldown, why bother mentioning the word blink when you just mean "add a cooldown to teleport".
Diablo2's teleport should have increased in range as the skill progressed, and should have probably got more expensive the more you invested in it. At least a small minimum cooldown should have existed for the skill, such as 1.5 seconds, starting higher before skill investment.
Another option implemented in so many games, is not teleporting through things like walls where there is no line of sight.
I only say blink to capture the idea of what it looks like in WC3 and WoW, a cooldown version of teleport. No reason to get up in arms over such a trivial thing. And yes, I agree with practically everything you mentioned. A frozen orb type cooldown would work well along with a LoS rule.

I think they should give it a slight cooldown really. And make it more cost more mana.
That would make it more fair

Well I guess if you wanna pay out 175 mana for one teleport, you can always dream. The Diablo most people know wouldn't have such a ridiculous cost. I can't see the point in it honestly.
But nice usage of CRUISE CONTROL. I bet you feel cool, huh?
Too bad you forgot to steer...
i love it in diablo 2 lod, hence sorcs are my favorite class of all time
although
tele should be an utility skill, not an overpowered must have 1 point wonder
I'd personally like the cooldown. The LoS though, that just doesn't feel all that Diablo-esque. Maybe instead of the LoS rule, make it so the more points you invest the farther you can teleport? Maybe have another skill that -SLOWLY- reduces mana cost. Not 10 mana less per level, more like 1 or 2, but maximum amount would be like 20 or 40 mana less. (Maybe start at 50 mana then with max synergy it get reduced to 10 mana.)
teleporting was overpowerd, people just take enigma and teleporting all over the place. It was bs.
here's the deal: anyone that can't kill a clown in an enigma has no business PvPing. The only character that is really hard to kill that relies on enigma is a Summon Necro because of all the monsters he drags. You can also argue on a Druid that has summoned wolves and Hurricane but those kinds of Druids are so weak I dont even registure them as a threat. All other classes are easy to kill if you know what you are doing.
And before you say anything, no, I dont PvP with a class that requires an enigma. Yes I have a summon necro with an enigma, but I dont PvP with him.
Also, anyone that dies to an enigma hammerdin also has no business PvPing
As for teleporting in general. It belongs to the magic user class. It was in Diablo 1 (though through use of massive magic gear, you could learn it as Warrior and Rogue) and it was in Diablo 2 and it belongs in Diablo 3. If you put a cool down or any sort of "can only use 3 times in a row" you'll just make the skill useless. Bitch to get rid of enigma if you want you're only proving you can't handle a nigma n00b, I dont really care, just leave the skill itself alone and leave it for the Sorcerer if you absolutely must.
You know, I'm feeling generous, how bout we meet in the middle? Make it so then Teleport isn't affected by faster cast rate gear and just be done with it. There balanced, end of story, stop bitching about removing/gimping teleport and enigma already...
BUT....teleport was soooo much fun when PvP-ing on my fire-sorc with like super like fcr. I was like "ZoomZoomZoom! Can't catch me! BOOM YOUR DIED! ROFL LOLLOL"
