Keep teleport... D3 just wouldn't be the same without it.
That's just like weird right there. Weird as in, worded weird. Like, how can it be the same, when we haven't even experienced the actual gameplay? I mean that statement makes sense if we were trying to revamp Diablo 3, assuming it's been released for like 4 years already...but other than that..I'm lost. T_T

buddy.... i aint no die hard fan. i dont any diablo lore for shit. and 2 be honest i played war craft frozen throne alot, and i was amazing at it. i cud destroy any1 on this site in a matter of minutes... diablo revolved around teleport. Teleport was the greatest thing in diablo 2. Thank god for enigma. Made everything better and equal..

Enigma and all the post 1.09 runewords ruined the game for me. Teleport without a cooldown is insane and I will be glad if they put a cooldown on it. or at least require 10-20 points to remove the cooldown.

Teleport wasnt as unbalanced as most of you may think. I dont know about a lot of you but i played classic. I bought expansion only to have the added resolution. I thought that giving all classes skills from other classes broke the game. Sorc had teleport because she couldnt take a hit. That was her defence. I remember having very fair fights between all classes if people knew how to pvp. Just because i could teleport 1000 times did get me to win a fight. It looked more like i was running. An BvS barbarian... would wear the gear needed to take me out... Hawkmail, Lance, Hotspurs, ect. Whatever he needed. And like any other pvp match, stratagie played a huge part. A sorc having tele wasnt unbalanced, a necro or any other class having tele was.
ps. how do you even know a sorc type class will be in d3! i hope so tho.
teleport was fine in d2 untill they implemented enigma. I had a pvp barb in 1.09 that i built specifically for killing zons and sorces. He had a shit ton of toxic small charms of enertia, and max increased speed. ran like a gazella but with more armor.

I've never used enigma and never had a problem, I also played all 90% of my characters pre 1.10. The problem is that all you are seeing is baal. you skip every piece of content because you just teleport past everything.
Like someone else said, teleport was because the sorc was squishy, would often die in one hit, so teleport was meant to be defensive.

Wow, DarknessAngel I got so confused at reading your post lol...But you do make some points. What I mean is that in D3 there should be teleport instead of blink because tele is kind of a staple in the series and when I think of using blink, I think of 'blink' (or small teleport) a few yards and then walk for a while, then 'blink' again when the cooldown is up (yes..I play WoW), whereas the teleport I know and love is, with higher level sorcs, click -> teleport half screen, rinse, repeat...I enjoyed that. Also, i'm open to change...i'm apparently one of the few who don't find a problem with the art direction with the game...The art direction was the last thing I noticed when I first saw the gameplay trailer and cleaned up the shat in my pants.:offtopic:

I've been soloing trough hell now and stand at 81 in act4, in hc there isn't much games so I just create some random games with "Free exp" or such, every now and then someone joins there and asks "why don't you do baal runs?" who the F would wanna run 1 monster all the time with 7 tards.

I played diablo 2 for a long time, and LoD for awhile but I guess I missed some later patches. I never really had a problem with the sorceress being able to teleport. I played an amazon is my main and I never really had a problem with it pvp-wise or PVE wise. Like.. Just never had a problem with it lol, they sped the pace up sure, other than that I dont see what the problem is. Maybe my amazon had too much good gear and could keep up with them I duno.

I like teleport on D2... as a sorc skill. I think every class should be given movement enhancers depending on their class. For example paladins could charge, which was ok because they had nice defenses so charging was viable Sorceresses were trying to avoid getting near mobs and were in trouble if they got stuck in a pack w/o teleport. Assassins self buffed, barbs had frenzy, but really I think they could have had a more core skill or a 1 pt wonder for it. I don't believe amazons or necros had a movement enhancer, and I'm not sure about druids because I didnt play them.
I'm hoping for movement enhancing techniques in D3. I'd love teleport for a magic class. Maybe something like dash for melee guys that was similar as in no damage, but they were charging like a paladin basically with no damage/attack modifiers.
I don't see blink working because it really wouldn't be useful if timered like in WoW. I played a mage and it was basically to remove snares, avoid a heavy falls, or to escape an enemy. I'd rather have it as my form of not attack movement for getting from place to place like the WoW horse, but I dn't want mounts.

Yea, I had a summon necro in pvp sometimes with enigma. I could beat most builds if my reflexes were good enough at the time. The ones that gave me trouble were defensive hammerdins, I usually had to retreat. Same with some other summoners who had better gear. Wind druids killed me. So did Fire sorcs. But that's about the only ones who I was really afriad of.
And zons weren't even a challange, nope.
