Agreed. However they are now in the Black Abyss and the soulstones destroyed. So I guess you could say this is how he looks in the absence of a soulstone/possession of a host body.
I don't know, whatever happened to the souls of the Albrecht, the Wanderer, Tal Rasha and Sankekur. Were they freed from the Prime Evils when they died or were they truly incorporated into them.
You know, maybe it's too late since the Three having assimilating human souls they could already have the power of the Nephalem laying dormant within them. Imagined Diablo, Baal and Mephisto with the power of destroying both Sanctuary and the High Heavens with only but a thought. Maybe Lam Essen was right, there won't be a good ending for Sanctuary...
Well this proves that the thread I made about this topic was indeed true. And on the matter of Diablo's true form, you can infer that it may be a figure of speach used by Mephisto in the A4 cine. and that Diablo may be able to even choose his form based on information provided in the Sin War books.

"Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather."
I'm still gonna say its not him, Its not like diablo to yell like that, diablo has always been silent and usually tries to distence himself from people letting his minions do the work.
I just have a gut feeling they wouldn't make Diablo so obvious.
I mean the idea of Diablo just coming back like that is so mainstream; The return of diablo.
It's 50/50 for me. I'm thinking somewhere along the game they'll be a flashback of Diablo,
which means the Diablo were seeing here doesn't actually exist in the current time line. Just a thought.
I'm sorry but anyone that does not think that it is Diablo now is an idiot.

Originally you could argue it wasn't him. The situation has now been cleared up.
As the Barbarian is standing over one head, you can also assume that the new diablo only has one head. Which quells rumours he has more than one. A rumour that to me sounded pretty silly. As I never saw three heads, I was not nor am I still convince that there is 3 "mouths". The so called other two mouths just look like shoulders of a demon, which can be any size, shape or form.
May be Diablo has lost two of its side horns in a battle with Tyrael or something. The void left by the two horns 'look like' two mouths, but in fact they are not.
And when diablo yells, it appears that he has three mouths, which is in fact false. The smoke before diablo creates an illusion that makes the void spaces appear like mouths.
Diablo Junior anyone? I have this unstoppable feeling that tells me this new Diablo seems a lot "younger" and "fresher". Maybe its just me, but I too honestly don't think Diablo will be shown so easily. Afterall, the trailer of D2 never showed Diablo nor any of the brothers in their true form. However, the official D2 trailer did have a screaming monster in the end:confused:.

You forget that Diablo itself is mainstream. I agree it is kind of repetitive but they have ensured their selves limitless sequels due to the fact that killing him only sends him back to the Black Abyss, he never really dies.

I'm sure that if they wanted to, they can think up of a way to defeat him for good.
Unless of course they decide that Diablo is a figure, or an Icon as a posed to a single specific being.
That way, any demon who reaches a certain status can claim to be Diablo.
I've always believed it was Diablo. I couldn't begin to fathom what reason Blizzard might have for using a character other than The Lord of Terror himself, on whom this game revolves, and at that particular spot of the teaser.
Just because Diablo's personality seems to be rather subtle doesn't mean that he would never find reason to howl.
I was one of the ones on the Belial bandwagon. Knowing that its Diablo now I'm kind of happy. This means that supposing Belial is in the game he probably won't look similar to Diablo. I hope he is in there, I can't wait to see what they think he would look like.
I dunno about this new Diablo. Sure he looks badass but he doesn't look like the Diablo I came to love. And slay. Several times. Azmodan or Belial would fit better, but hey if they want to change everything in the transition from D2-D3 then I say, go ahead. At least don't disappoint me.
Although at first I was doubtful it was Diablo, but now, even without them making the statue, I'm pretty sure it is.
There was an thread on here before, about how evil Diablo must be....the poster had a ex-script from the Sin War books, where Diablo is talking to Inarius.
In it, it mentions how Inarius could never distinguish what Diablo looked like, because he was either a large blob of shadow, or he was changing his shape based on what Inarius fears, as he turned into Lillith, Tyrael....etc.....
From that we can gather that Diablo has the ability to shapeshift, and judging by his appearance change between Diablo 1 & 2, we can determine that his form is also based on how strong he was(which was at the time determined by his host).
So now that Diablo has clearly been reborn back in hell, he is back to full power, thus his form has changed a little.
Besides, I've said this from the beginning.
Making a Diablo game without Diablo is like committing high treason in the gaming world.
well we already know diablo likes to retell the last games events quite often, it could be a captured momemt depliting the fall of Diablo in the 2nd game.

I considered that also but I do doubt it, the barbarian is the older one from D3. (I know it's the same barbarian but he has facial hair like in D3.)

Just my two cents.
