agreed. The desert looks good. Theres nothing "colorfull, "cartoony" or "unrealistic" about it. Now a world of diablocraft's desert would probably have some rainbows in the backround. Oversized shoulderpands that go into your characters face. Most likely a HUGE glow affect on the weapon. And probably some green and bluish tint to it.
Seriously though.
The desert looks good. Would it look as good if the art team from WoW got finished with it and put that into diablo 3? I honestly dont think so.

If you get personally attacked by letters through the internet its a good thing to always have a box of tissues and a band-aid around.
seems that all the new members do is argue about the dumbest shit, that's all based on preference.
still glad they made this announcement.

in summary, after 8 years blizz announces diablo. fans dissatisfied with look. look was too cartoony and doesnt feel like diablo. (experiencing this firsthand? u got a video of the gameplay in good quality. its like playing the game when viewing it!). blizz over-emphasize on color effects. thought colors would induce fear with green/blue etc but too much of it kills it. also added pastel effects to make it dam artistic. went with warpy style because didnt like straight lines. wanted it unique but ended up like wow. so fans make petition on what was wrong. fans think it is the color and darkness. fans didn't really know what was wrong but knew something was wrong. blizz rebuttle by comparing d2 and says it is very colorful and saturated. both party confuzzeled on what was wrong. (the game didn't h ave the same boldness as the previous games- missing the contrast/colors/etc - thats what). so blizz knocks out fans with no return article and stands firm while fans lose in despair only to live another day playing wow.
the end.
BONUS: INTERNAL DIABLO-FAN CONFLICT.
Fan "constructively criticize" diablo art design.
Fan 2 criticize those fans at a personal level. Who wins, it is a battle of verbs.
I didn't sign the petition, but I do think they could have at least made it a little darker than it is. It has been said now though that as you progress through the game it gets gradually darker, which is good. I'm fine with the art direction and their decision to keep it. I'll still buy the game and I'll still love it. I also don't mind the shoulders being big its not that big of a deal really.
YES! I was actually worried that the game was going to be bland. Were saved!
do you also like the colorful flavor. it just juices you up all citrus and tangy. like a pineapple during a sunny day on the beach. or a peach while rowing across a sleek river on a boat. maybe some soft bananas between your cheeks. each bite, so powerful so sweet, so delicious
yes i was worried too... but not in terms of color or anything... just BLAND of the game being original...

Wow it's so sad; no one here understands the concept of a color pallette. You all make the claim that it's more than just that then do stupid crap like this is what diablo 3 looks like lolz with a bunch of childish renditions. I'm happy they aren't going back; if you're so friggin disappointed don't buy the game matter of fact why even be on this site if you're so against it....seems to me the majority of people are for it (I mean as a whole like everyone that plays/played diablo series). On top of it you've more or less made yourselves the laughing stock and butt end of jokes all over the gaming community. Glad that there are still people out there bantering on and on; being total elitists to make the rest of us look like a-holes...thanks
I think the desert view in the diablo 2 pic. would be like this in diablo3
Notice HOW BIG THE SHOULDER PADS ARE
If grass is not green, sand is not brownish yellow, and health orb not red. I don't know where I live in anymore. I agree with the shoulders if they were a little less exaggerated. Hyperboles like these are not a good way to pursuade though .
