i see my self when i play diablo 2? posted the inventory pictures cos they suppose to look like that in diablo 2,
and now they can make them in realistic looking 3d if they wanted to, but chose not to.
nit picky.. its not even close!
diablo isnt goofy, or wait, it is now..
and for system requirements, its been worked on for 4 + years? and get released in 2 years..
it is and will be very outdated when its released.
im gonna try it but probably not buy it, i wont support "World of Diablo", Diablo gameplay in a WoW world,
so its Blizzards loss. like i said ive canceled my preorder, and 7 of 7 of my friends who preordered have as well..
also some online friends..
I know the Armor could be improved, I actually agree somewhat with you there, no need to argue that anymore.
The whole game doesn't look goofey, none of it does really. Most of it is pretty damn realistic, even with it being stylized in the enviroment. They are going to polish it up just like they did with Startcraft, so it most likely isn't going to look as bad when it's released, not as outdated. And once again, it really really doesn't look that much like WoW. Sure it's kinda inspired by it, but it looks different.
They said they tried originally to make it darker, but it didn't work, and now that it doesn't look the way you want it to, you aren't getting it despite it most likely going to be an awesome game. Trust me, it's no loss to blizzard that a mere 50,000 people aren't getting exactly what they wanted, because they know it wasn't the better choice.

You're not scaring anyone with your threats to not buy and cancel your pre order... Most people that make those sort of comments don't mean them, because they wouldn't feel the need to write about it if they did. It's not like Blizzard are going to see some people saying "I'm never going to buy this game now" and go "Oh no, we can't afford that, quick change it to exactly what they asked for."...
Do you really make all your decisions on things 2 years before you have to follow through? And do you REALLY stick to those plans if you do? I mean seriously, when you know almost nothing about a game, except that it plays the same, and looks different to what you expected, that you can now predict that NOTHING that happens in the next 2 years will change your mind and you will buy the game?
I predict even IF nothing changes you, and many other people who protest, will buy this game...
But by all means don't let anything change, enjoy the stubborn/conservative approach to life, it gets you far.

Its a whole lot more then 50.000 people, or don't you understand petitions?
I guarantee that most of those people will still buy (and probably enjoy anyway) this game.
And even if it was 100,000 who will NEVER buy it, that's prolly going to be, what, between 1/60th and 1/90th the entire span of fans. Less than 3%, not a big problem for such a successful company.
@ Karlajan: He canceled "preorder", if i can read you then you did not, so it is infact you that decide everything 2 years in advance, oh, irony can be sweet.
im gonna try it but probably not buy it, i wont support "World of Diablo", Diablo gameplay in a WoW world,
And I wasn't directing "he has decided 2 years in advance" soley at him, at everyone in general making the same posts, I just quoted him cause it was on the last page.
Also, you might want to look up irony...

Look! Blizzard guys made Diablo 1 and Diablo 2! Now, they are making Diablo 3, and all of you that are not satisfied with the current art direction: SHUT UP!!!
If they are making it, they are making it because they know how to make it! What do you think, they're going to listen to all your weepings and say: Let's do what they want!
We are talking about Blizzard! This is like Titan vs. the dwarf (the very small one)!
I'm on the Titan's side!
the diablo 1 and 2 staff are NOT in blizzard anymore
the blizzard guys who are developing d3 are either newcomers or people who worked on wow, dunno
Its a whole lot more then 50.000 people, or don't you understand petitions?
Yeah I know exactly how online petitions work, you make a bot to spam the petition with votes, go into work and use all your work computers, use your friends computers/email accounts. The sort of fans who are on some freaking crusade to push for it are so into their hyperbolic propaganda that they are the EXACT audience that would try and change something for their benefit by cheating the system.
So yeah it's probably like 10,000

Lol, i can garantee you not to know the first thing about petitions, how many people that (would/will) agree with the petition signed the petition you think? 10%? Maybe. So even if its "only" 10.000 people that signed it, its still pretty huge. Also, how many people signed the counterpetition? If those numbers are anything to go by, then people disliking the art design outnumber people liking it with, what, 10000%?
lol, OWNED. Counter petition is way low compared to the change petition. Completely raped all the homo's here with this.

If you get personally attacked by letters through the internet its a good thing to always have a box of tissues and a band-aid around.
Or that the counterpetition never got as much publicity as the one that disagreed. Which do you think would make a gaming headline? Gamers Like What They See or 50k (Inflated) Gamers Hate Blizzard Forever and Demands Artistic Revision!
I wouldn't say the petitioners are demanding anything, but wording of the title do affect sites to pick up the news.

apart from your immature, "hicksville" writing... You are aware that not everyone that agrees with something signs a petition. I didn't even know there was a "counter" petition and if I did I would have signed it.
Petitions mean nothing, except that some people have access to a lot of different computers (like at work), or can write up a good spamming bot.
You offer nothing of value to the discussion and even go as far as being insulting... Grow up, or could someone just ban you already, it's always you with the pointless, childish posts.

The "Counter Petition" was made by an audience that was not nearly as rabid as the "OMFGNEWBWOWGRAFIX" people that made the "original petition", thus the numbers of legit people on the "Counter Petition" would be much higher in comparison to the "original petition".
All I Have To Say Id Diablo 2 Came Out Like Ten Years Ago. If Yall Want It To Look The Same Then Instead Of Asking Foe D3 Since 03 You Should Have Asked For A D2 Expansoin. Of Course It Gonna Lok Diffrent Its Son Long Later. There Will Be Milloins Of People Buying This Game. So You Think They Care About 52000 Crybabies I Dont. And I Dont Care About Cry Babies Either. Just Wait For It Youll Be Hooked Just Like Last Time
blah blah blah, yada yada yada, the counter petition is shit compared to the change petition. You fags just got owned. get over it. Cry about it. Go to mommy. rofl. owned.

This is great news! No more of those stupid color comparison petition gif signatures! To this "fan" argument, I'm a FAN and I'm pleased with Blizzards decision, actually I'd be pleased with ANY color decision by Blizzard, why? Because I am a FAN - to the rest of you, cry me a river.
Ya the guys making D3 had nothing to do with D1 and D2. I mean, guaranteed it was a long time ago, these new guys are pulling their resources from WoW. Like many people have said in here, Diablo is not WoW.
I know that's their breadwinner, but man whatever happened to reinventing yourself? What I'm trying to say is that Starcraft is uniquely its own, so is WoW. Diablo could pass for a WoW add-on when looking at some of those pics. LoL no my cup of tea.

Petitions are useless form of survey The petition is anonymous. You do not have to sign with your real information and so half of those signatures could be fake. Sure you could say they are not, but you have no idea if there are 5 signatures on there that are by the exact same person.
Not everyone who signs a petition knows what they are signing and so do not count towards those who read the petition. Most of the time people just sign petitions in order to raise the number when they don't actually believe in the petition itself. In other cases they were told misinformation by a friend/relative and chose to sign without reading.
That number does not account for the true representation of the Diablo "fanbase". Sure they are diablo fans but I would hardly say that 52,000 is a good number. There may be more that disagree with the art style and are not signing, but the majority that like the art style don't give a crap and spend their time signing petitions.
Example:
If you have a bad experience at a restaurant you tell at least 12 people about it.
If you have a good experience then you tell at least 3 people.
What does this say? The people who bitch are the loudest... but it does not by any means make them the majority.
Yea ok, but that lie (that you did not make) put off people signing said petition right? I mean, after bias like that, who will want to sign it? Lucjily, some people actually read what was stated in the petition as opposed to what people tried making it look like being.
The petition also draws a lot of hate on WoW and putting that onto D3. "..at first sight it looks like a remake of World of Warcraft, graphically and artistically speaking.."
When people think WoW, they think big, blocky and undetailed characters and textures. Then just add a few pictures which also have low poly counts such as this and this, and suddenly you have people that agree with the petition because they don't want to see their mental perception of World of Warcraft. Now bring in the ''over-sized and exaggerated parts, vivid colors and unrealistic elements, almost directly taken away from World of Warcraft and pasted to Diablo,'' completewithbeforeandaftermakeovers, and now you have an overstroked ego of a very vocal minority.
You can already tell from the vocal minorities in this forum that they hate WoW, so why would a petition that addresses the players of Diablo 2 have overwhelming favour towards WoW's art design?
If you have a bad experience at a restaurant you tell at least 12 people about it.
If you have a good experience then you tell at least 3 people.
What does this say? The people who bitch are the loudest... but it does not by any means make them the majority.
This is pretty much how life is, and if you haven't figured it out, don't come back on the forums till you get out of high school... or even in it.
Good job at shooting yourself in the foot. "not everyone agreeing with something signs petitions". There are a TON of things i (dis)agree with, and i almost never sign any petition, thats why a petition of "only" 10.000 people, or "20.000" people or whatever, is not to be underestimated.
Fuck, people hoped to get a 1000 signs.
Your logic is horrible, you are saying, the petition is MORE legit... because if anyone signs it, that means there are thousands of others that agree who didn't sign it.... That's like saying, "Superman is 100% real because you can't prove he isn't".... It's utter bull crap.
Obviously some people didn't like the art direction/graphics, obviously they were pissed, but there is no way in hell, you can prove anything with a petition. Especially by claiming that 10,000 real people votes MEANS there is 100,000 others or something stupid.
Petitions. Don't. Mean. Jack.
