I went through the D3 artwork trailer and made a bunch of still images and animated gifs of things found within for more elaborate analysis. If you have 56k, I'd recommend clicking away or Ctrl+Alt+Del-ing Firefox.
Edit: I've been asked to not display the images, so in respect I've changed the full show to links. Still, the warning applies that each file is rather large. 3mbs for the smaller ones, and up to 20mbs for the larger images.

I was thinking that might be what they were, but I didn't want to press that. Cain may be studying dead fetuses for signs of change since the Worldstone was destroyed for all we know.

That is possible yes, but I would have said Homoculus in any case, some people could easily be offended by the dead baby remark.

It's time to welcome the other 80% of the color wheel to a Diablo game.
in the second pic, the one with the barbarian laying waste to some bad guys, the talll, horned dude on the left... maybe diablo? His arm looks like it could be D's. Maybe that is his true form, and he is in the process of transforming into the big red machine we are familiar with. He is also on top, seeming to command the other demons.

No it's a possessed cultist, they're in the gameplay trailer. All the monsters in that picture are in gameplay.

Im indifferent towards druids.

Play it and go to act 3.
go and see Asheara the NPC.
you might find some similarity there.
She doesn't have a wolf pelt but she have a snake around the neck.
