Hey, I just thought of an idea that would suit the new model of the game. Area effects and such are now going to be a part of the game. I hope that maybe some skills will cross over each other.
Imagine a Which doctor casts a zombie wall, and a sorceress casts firewall or a fire spell on the zombie wall, causing it to catch fire, and do both zombie damage and fire damage to the monsters.
Like skills that effect each other, and have neat cross over effects. also, maybe add a "sustain" option to some skills. Like a sorceress that can cast firewall and keep the one wall burning untill she runs out of mana
Well that is SORT of how Witch Doctors work. Their summons can be imbued with disease or fire as far as I've seen. Don't think the zombie wall is a summon though, more of a spell.
This is a very interesting idea, and I agree that it seems like it would work well. The line to watch is pushing the 'difficulty' so to speak to the point where it becomes 'required' to involve such teamwork, as then we do start crossing into the raiding / MMO type of play.
I know you aren't suggesting that would happen, it's just something that crossed my mind.
I dig this idea a lot. Right now it's hard to speculate on possible combinations because if our limited knowledge of skills, but certainly something to keep our collective eyes on...
but what if the fire the sorc casts on the wall KILLS the zombies in the wall, thus making the zombie wall USELESS. /gasp!!
Well you would hope that if they're allied in the party together, that instead of hurting it, it would benefit it. But I still don't see this happening unfortunately. Would be cool tho!
What if a sorcerer and a barb did some sort of dance and I don't know...fused? They would have a giant aura around them and bright yellow, spiky hair as well.

You forgot a step, they have to scream and yell for 20 minutes before it happens.
Why don't u just cast the firewall in front of the zombie wall.. so the mobs that get caught and beaten by the zombie wall will take damage from the firewall while standing on there?
well if they do like they did in diablo 2, the more players in the game the harder it will get. so you might end up having to literally work together as a team, instead of (like in D2) being a party of 8 and none of you knows where the hell the other is in the zone(unless you had maphack). my 2 cents. i might make another deposite later.
I reckon it could make coop play really fun and exciting. Coming up with new strategies for taking down certain bosses or even in pvp. Great idea, and I hope it will exist. And yes it is the little things in games that make the great games EPIC.

Its the little neat things that make a game epic.
