This is besides the class-specific items that each class already had in D2. (targe, javs, etc.)
I think that it would add a lot to the personality of each class. The Witch Doctor could have a voodoo charm or something along those lines, and the Barbarian could hold pieces of prized kills (i.e. tusks, pelts, etc.). These are just examples.
How do you guys feel about giving them something a little more class-specific?

Do you mean something that would be pure vanity? Or just elaborate on the old each class has its own class only armor to wear?
It would be more useful if it added an effect, but if it had an aesthetic representation, that might actually be cooler because people wouldn't all choose the same item because it has the uber stats, but choose the one they think looks or sounds the coolest.

Yeah, it would be cool if when you equipped the pelt/charm, it would hang from your belt or something.

I agree there should be a spot to equip charms/trophies... and more than one! So you could have multiple skulls hanging from chains on either side of a Barbarian's belt... or a Witch Doctor could have multiple bone necklaces that sit over their armor... or you could equip the severed appendage from some BIG boss to show off your kill...
Yes, this would be a great idea that would help customize everyone's characters! ...I would actually be interested in collecting and keep charms and trophies now!
EDIT: Perhaps after every 1,000 kills a particular trophy would drop... and after 10,000 kills another type of trophy, and 100,000 (is that even possible?) a very unique type of trophy that you could wear would drop. Or maybe when you have 10 trophies (for 1,000 kills each) you could put trophies into the Horadric Cube and convert it into a single trophy that represents 10,000 kills. This way you could see how experienced a character is just by looking at the trophies they wear. (these trophies would of course bind on pick-up (BoP) and you could not trade them)

I think it'd be cool if you got class specific stuff from other people by killing them (idea that I read about in another thread). Eg, you're a Barb, and you kill a Witch Doctor, now you can wear his feathers around your neck. Also, these items would take up no inventory space, and they add a little bonus. However, maybe you could only get them from battles that are not in your favor, like against higher level characters or characters with more rare items, or whatever - so that way it'd be harder to get them.

Demonologist - Bone Spells (Necro style!), Avatar (shapeshift into a demon!), Furies (evil spirits that hang around you, giving party bonuses) - mix of physical damage and magic

i love these ideas....they could go so many places with this. I like the idea of having items that help you, but i also agree that it might be even more interesting to have a class specific slot or two that would be things to change your appearance (or add to it anyways). This adds a lot of more options and adds to the feeling being unique.
To build upon this (looks and customization)...i would love it if they had shops that allowed you to maybe tweak the color of items and so on...i know it sounds like an unnecessary non diablo type thing, but really it could be very fun, make you unique, and it is not forced upon you whatsoever, as it doesn't make you any stronger (better)...just different...i love the idea of the OP's as well as this.

More rewarding than having a "Patriarch" title, in my opinion. But I reckon that was really the only way to show status in DII.
