Ten (five classes times 2 genders) is going to take up resources like crazy. We saw what happened to Armaggeddon (countless characters, despite the fact that you were given the choice to create them), and a lousy kata ending for all of them. Focus on the things that make a horror RPG what it is: a feeling of despair and fear, the awareness of shortcomings and the ray of hope that ingenuity shines when all seems to be lost. I say good strategy and versatility/adaptability are much more enjoyable than godlike amounts of power. Have a character carry as much equipment as is logical. I have very little love for weapons and items that seem to pop out of nowhere. If you must drink a potion, use some memory to actually show the character taking out the potion and drinking it (and, in that case, you should hide or something, because you're more vulnerable). Likewise, it would be nice to see characters actually drawing out or concealing weapons.
We don't need ten charactrers. We need a good guy with a lot of potential. AND a bad guy with a lot of potential as well. Starcraft and Warcraft allowed us to control legendary villains and their respective armies. Why can't Diablo players stand on the side of Shadow? I want a character like the Dark Wanderer, who slowly transforms into a demon as he becomes more powerful.
Coming to think of it, maybe the whole focus of D3 is wrong. It should have been designed to work like World of Warcraft, but darker and more hopeless.
Id like to see a bundle of random quests that are setup for players to find when the first initiate into an Act, not meaning they would always be restricted to those quests in other difficulties later on. As it's rather boring doing the same old quests over and over again. or even better offer a change in pattern like introduce more quests per difficulty and so on so hell difficulty presents the game for what it should be with every quest avaliable to the player, while nightmare eliminates some of the quests, and normal only has a hand full per Act.
Id also like to see better methods of hiring henchies, will fully customizable armor areas, and not limited to what diablo 2 offered in the henchies menu. Also more purpose behind hiring henchies, allowing them to pickup items and store potions for themselves, as well as other usefull items they might think they need.
I am sorry for closing this thread, but it pretty much removes the point of having a "Game Suggestions" forum, and it causes a lot of confusion for the moderators who merge/move threads and the people who are making a new thread in the "Game Suggestions" forum. If you had any ideas flowing around in here, feel free to make a new thread.
