errr pardon me....but I think you are mistaken. Aphrodite is the grecian goddess of love and beauty, not of war, warriors and all things military. That title belongs to Athena.
Different Greek city states had different interpretation of the gods, while they all worshipped the same ones, it was not uncommon for god to have differet roles in the differet states.
It ihas been sometime since I looked into the matter extensively, but I believe Sparta view her as a Goddess of War, to better suit here partnership with Ares, the God of War.
I do not recall if the hold the believe she was married to Hephastos the smith god, like the Athenians did.
And are you really serious about this post? As to your request, although I won't be using Aphrodite as my name in Blizzard (or any forum for that matter), I don't think you own the "copyright" to that name.

But that is not the first time it has appeared here. This would be the 7th or 8th time if I recall correctly. Such as the state of my mind is these days, I am prone to forget things.

It's a hard balance of realism and sexiness. Personally, I have the most respect for games that can combine both. I mean, not every woman is going to be a 10 in the world, but it is a video game and we should be treated to some good views.
If people fap to wow female characters, i'll betcha that someone will fap to d3 characters:offtopic:
I think it's quite nice to add genders in diablo 3, because girls who play can now ex. female barb instead of a male barb^^

The only part of your post I care to reply to is the one about join date for this forum. My join date was 3-4 days ago, but I've been a longtime Diablo fan for YEARS. As much as I like and respect this forum and some of its posters, the length of one's tenure here is by no means a representation of one's intelligence, understanding of the game or skill within it.
And please, good sir, don't make an aggressive approach towards anyone's understanding of single words (like he didn't know what "media" meant?) when your own texts are so fragmented. It really looks quite silly.

Exactly. Nobody wants to look at unattractive characters. Whether anyone wants to admit to it or not, all games, movies and television shows (visual media) require attractive actors/actresses to -- well, attract -- an audience! Sure, most times people stay for the plot/drama/depth, but like with dating, you have to have something that entices someone to you first. Eye candy is great for it, and there is no shame whatsoever in having a good amount of it scattered around (not unlike seasoning in a dish!).
But it's very warm in the jungle, and it's not like everyone will be standing around in their fighting armour. I would expect those things to be quite heavy and useless in the middel of town...
The point stands, though. Did anyone think she was out of place by being almost naked? And far as I can tell, nobody seemed to mind that amazons could shoot bows with obnoxiously large breasts in the way... sure, it wasn't realistic, but it looks hot, and video games aren't meant to be overly realistic. Long as there is enough realism for suspension of disbelief, that's really all that matters. The rest is just creative license.
Am I the only one who thought this was funny? No, they aren't. Men are, as a generality, more capable physically.
There is a difference between equal rights and physical capability--only in fantasy land (IE Diablo 3) do women have the same capability for brute force that men do.
It's actually becuase of how we think that women are less physical, if girls never do any heavy lifting and they always are let off the hook by their parents and then they make the brother or someone else do the work, naturally, the girl won't build muscle...
I'd want all the characters to be realistic... no huge breasts - that's a sign of bad metabolism, lack of fitness, and bad food. Legs, just normal legs, please, assuming they don't eat all day long. Clothes should vary from character to character. I think the WD female looks fine. Not sure about the barb one, didn't see her clearly enough. In DII they did it correctly. They just need to carry over the idea to all the other classes. I'm not worried.
anyone have a screenshot of the female WD? I have only seen the female barb upclose, I saw bits and pieces of the female WD in the final battle of the demo but nothing upclose

There was a scene when both female versions of the barbarian and witchdocter with the male version of the witchdocter standing side by side, and the male barbarian running around in the back
I like the new additions. No more all male barbarians! Now I can make a male marksman too! Although, I could see mass contradiction if they implement amazons in D3 lol. Anyways, in response to the little side-topic:
Males are physically stronger and more durable, but you're only going to notice it a little bit when you're trying to set world records, not ordinary tasks like lifting heavy boxes. Female's slim bodies are better for speed and agility though, since she's not as weighed down by muscle mass though, but again, something you'll only notice when trying to set world records.
Males/females brain-to-body ratio is the same, so I oppose games that design males/females with differences in any 'intelligence,' or other attributes related to IQ or brain-power. When gender comparing, physical strength does not mutually exclude intelligence, that's speed and agility which suffers. (Bigger muscles mean more flexibility, but only so the big muscled person can do what they could before, not going from being unable to even put their hands over their head to being able to stare directly at their butt without a mirror, wouldn't that be fun? :D) huge muscles aren't going to help you dodge them demons who want to kill you.) I'd assume inherent differences in intelligence between genders (with females in the lead :P) is more related to brain structure, and, (of course) who that person is.
It's good Blizzard doesn't implement gender stat differences though, it benefits multiple types of players - both the people who are casual players and don't want to be bothered by power-playing, but also benefits the power players, since they have one less consideration to make when making their character Uber as possible.
Another thing I like about Blizzard's gender based choices - Only so often are the females suffering from Zelda Princess Syndrome (ZPS.) Although there are some females that really stand out, I.E., the NPC who brings the Iron Wolves to your disposal, but the opposition to that would be that she's living in a rain-forest, so forgetting to have some casual clothing back at home wouldn't exactly be practical.

The whole reason for men being "so much stronger" (ha ha right) than women, or women being "so much smarter/quicker" (not at all sexist, right!) than men would be entirely based upon evolution. There are a number of nonhuman species where the females are stronger, faster AND smarter than their male counterparts. Plenty of species where females are the breadwinners, the fighters, the hunters, the pack leaders, the teachers, the caretakers, etc. It is different in humans based on societal evolution, due to women being suppressed and indoctrinated in the ways of male superiority. As time goes by, women get stronger, smarter and much more in line with their male counterparts. Fortunately, Blizzard is a progressive, poltically-motivated company who acknowledges these archaic definitions are nothing more than pure chauvinism and sexual elitism.
Now, that said, sexually-based statistical bonuses is not only pointless and emotionally-driven, it only adds uncertainty to the already dangerous tightrope walk that is known as game balance. For those reasons, no contemporary games use such a silly system, and no game likely ever will.

I just hope they don't get plate mail bikinis and all that pseudo-erotic revealing armour that makes you think the dev team is in perpetual puberty.
