We can all agree that Diablo III had different and sometimes violent receptions. Amidst all this, I want ot be able to give an objective and constructive opinion, so I do so using a blog. I know that the possibiity that Blizz will actually read this is scarce, so this could probably be a talking point here on the forums
well as a interesting suggestion I think it would be cool if they would alow you to chose the characters race. But the way it is now suits me just fine.
im totatally disagree with the idea of exclude the main contest of the diablo story.I really get angry also when i read " the ruins of the cathedral of Tristam", Where in the story of diablo, There was a cathedral in Tristam?, just one its mensioned and its in the room before catacombs.I really think Diablo staff doesn't know so well the story, and " they deform" it.I congratulate you about the web, its PRETTY GOOD, its the best, the well-looking ever, but please, dont change the basic spot of the story.i was watchin' the trailers and game reviews, and i think there are staff that you get really wrong when you change it, such as: the skills bar, before it was well, now i think you are doing the same that in the other blizzar'd games like WOW.Before Launching it, PLEASE, modify some things.

I think that choosing your race wouldn't fit too well with the lore behind each class. They are from all different regions of Sanctuary, so it would be understandable that all the people of class X are of the same skin tone.

Why can't a heterosexual guy tell a heterosexual guy that he thinks his booty is fly?
Regarding the classes available for Diablo III, I believe that something along these lines would be most beneficial for the game, thus giving those who play it a taste of both old and new.
Witch Doctor (Newly Introduced)
Barbarian (Revitalized)
Sorcerer (Revitalized)
Paladin (Remade under different title with new abilities)
Rogue (Remastered to become hybrid of Assassin & Amazon)
Druid (Focussing on Lycanthropy and nature based spells, summons etc.)
+Additional Class TBA

"Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you."-Friedrich Nietzsche
Very nice blog, I may just subscribe. I definitely think that the art needs major changes ever since I revisited Diablo last night, like, wow... That game is just SO awesome, anyone who hasn't played it, must, and even if you have, play it again...
I don't get it why the color palette is so bright. Every tree looks like emerald green and the spells are like candy spray. So what I'm suggesting is:
* PUT A SATURATION SLIDER IN THE SETTINGS OF THE GAME
It's not like it's hard to do and I like my colors almost gray. It gives the game an atmosphere... something those colors there won't do.
Another thing is my concern about fire. It's not like fire at all. Fireballs are more like CANNON balls that give you a nice colorful lightshow. Why? I don't know. I thought Blizzard always tried to make physics realistic. Now, realistically, if you shoot zombie with a fireball, it propably lights up pretty good. Then when it's dead (ha, ha, I get it) it falls down and lights the near by tree on fire. You know. Fire doesn't have an internal timer that extinguishes it. The fire itself is not just a nice colorful lightshow. It BURNS. So, my other suggestion:
[EDIT] I see you talked about the environment in that blog, and that's exactly the style I would love to see in Diablo 3. You know, just a little darker tones and voilá! [/EDIT]
* MAKE FIRE ACT LIKE FIRE
I don't know if anybody even reads these. I just don't have a CD-key to any Blizzard game, so I can't log in to the official forums. Whose 1000 dollar idea was that?
I LOVE high saturation, and plenty shadows too, dark and deep, that's how I like my colors.

Have Fun.
Sorry if someone already tore this apart, but...
It has already been announced that there will be randomly generated quests and that the main quest line is optional. You can just play the game or follow the main quest line- it's up to you.
You've never played Diablo I, I'm guessing? There was a mammoth cathedral in it that was the basis of a lot of the game. In Diablo II's Tristram, you cannot get to it, much to many devoted fans' dismay.
The Monastary (which is what you're thinking of, not the cathedral) is not in Tristram.
They never changed the basic plot of the story, you just did not review and think everything through well enough. The fault is on you, and your sin is ignorance.
I'm not really sure of what the rest of that was supposed to mean.

You can't say the never changed the spot of the story, because we have differents points of view.
First of all you cant tell me ingnorant, because this is a public forum and i guess you know very well the rules.I have played all the diablo's games and you don't know how to differentiate what a cathedral and a monastary is,anyway you are mistaken when you say " the room before catacombs is monastery" so, just play diablo II go before catacombs and see the big word " CATHEDRAL" that's the only one cathedral, the " monastery" there was in tristam, but not the cathedral.
Does blizzard even read these suggestions?, or are we wasting our time?.
Even so i will suggest some stuff myself.
1: The gore- in previous Dgames the gore was good for its time and i loved the way the bodies stayed and bloodied up the place, i also loved the gore of the bodies which where already there part of the environment stuck to walls and ect, with D3 the gore once killed is great but the environment has none of these previous thoughts especially the gore of the bodies, which from what ive seen vanish just like in TQ all i can say to this is WTH?????, dont make the game childish and lame stick to the old ways keep the gore dont make it vanish leaving clean unsmelly floors.
2: Character classes- another person spoke of this either in here and on other forums whats the go with only 5 classes? wtf are we back tracking now?, D2 had 5 classes and then LOD made it 7 its only logical to bring out 7 or even 8 with D3 so that area also has to be fixed.
3:- As another mension the loot system no matter what game it is if the loot system sucks the game will fail.
4:- Story line- I really hope the story line is indeed a good continuation of D2 im worried about this because blizzard no longer have the previous boys/girls who made the D series under there belt such as the great Bill Rouper if thats how his name is spelt, also the cinematics have to be dark and i mean dark.
5:Minnie story quests- such with D1 and D2 they had introduced mini off quest story lines such as for example in D1 the butcher, it would be great if D3 can introduce these things and not be like TQ where u hack and slash your way to the last boss.
6: Also i would love it if the enemies in this had somewhat of a great AI with most games these days they lack a great AI and the game becomes to easy and repetitive.
All in all i hope this game succeeds because i love diablo, but alot of things so far from what ive read/ seen need to be change and the GORE is the main thing in my eyes that needs to be fixed.
List of things that i would like to see:
1. I would love to see a 4th difficulty, harder than hell, or in hardcore a lower difficulty than normal
2. a higher level cap than 99
3. better map system, mainly the ability to have exposed the lands you have previously explored
4. Many more skills, i really liked the way skills were made to increase the potency of other skills, but there was narrow room for making a more individualized character that could be successful in all difficulties.
5. Expanded crafting, such as the ability to upgrade set items or choose ability modifiers from a list.
6. prevent javascript programs from working
7. better trading system such as an auctionhouse.
8. Not so sure about the health globes that drop, isnt that what potions are for? seems a little 'golden axe' to me
9. More character classes, along with the ability to alter their appearance
10. please hurry and release the game.
Yeah I don't think it's fair to suggest all those things and expect an early release date. I doubt it will take to 2011 though, I'd say early 2010 tops... They did after all say that the game has been developing for 5 years now... but maybe thats just me wishing
8 i agree with totaly, health globes droping wtf?, stick to the potions.
There are still potions.. what different does it make is it a health globe or the potion that drops? Now you drink potion then u pick up a new one.. prolly have to fill your belt again. It is just faster like this and don't have to think about your belt and the potions in your inventory all the time.

Yeah potions are still a big part of boss encounters and dangerous mobs, if you don't believe me rewatch the gameplay boss fight and keep an eye on the Witch Doctors HP. He uses potions.

The following is what I believe to be the most efficient ratio regarding health globes according to level of difficulty:
Normal: Many
Nightmare: Few
Hell: None
