im not to overly concerned with copy protection, But i am concerned with Hack prevention. I feel like the latter of the comments contributes to the community much more
If they put annoying protection aka StarForce I am not buying it specifically to demonstrate to them that StarForce only annoys people who bought the game but makes no difference to those who pirated it. Any company that implements copy protection only harms their buyers. I hope Blizzard is not that idiotic.
If I only get 5 installs of the game I'll wait and download it from the pirate bay for free and install it as many times as I like. I do a lot of stupid things with my computer which forces me to reinstall windows many times per year, I even have to call Microsoft to confirm when I try to activate my windows key.
You guys don't even know anything about the copy protection in Bioshock. You're just regurgitating other peoples complaints. There wasn't anything wrong with it. Anyone who needs to install the same game on more than two systems is doing it for illegal reasons. The only people who get really upset over not being able to install it on 5 systems are the people that want to give copies to friends.
You're all going to buy it starforce or not. Stop being stupid.
After digging deeper into the copy protection of Bioshock, it apparently will let you install the game on your machine as many times as you want as far as you uninstall it first. If they go this route, and ensure that uninstalling the game does indeed allow you to reinstall it (BioShock had problems with customers uninstalling their game and not getting credited for it) then I would be completely indifferent as long as they have a way to recover a credit for systems that have gone down the dumpster (ie a video card going bad).
But that being said, I do believe that copy protection hurts the consumer more than thieves. But as long as I'll be able to reinstall the game on any machine I own as many times as I deem necessary and for any reason, then I'll be happy.
If its doesn't install craps (anything without my consent) into my computer.
If it doesn't require that I have internet connection to play it (even offline, to check if the copy is legit).
If it doesn't require the CD in the tray (though I don't really mind this).
If the game doesn't limit how many time you can install it. (I forget how many time I uninstall/reinstall D2 already).
Then I'm fine with it. CDkeys work fine so far, they should stick with it.
Most of the fun of Diablo in online anyway. Single player is just like a big demo, lol
About the above post, I have more than one machine. I don't want to have to uninstall it and reinstall it everytime I want to switch machine!!! (I probably get more than one copy of the game anyway, but still).
but id still buy it
Could yo.u explain it to me?
Go away 10 year old.:spam::D
It only burdens the loyal and legit buyers
Blizzard please read the above which i fully agreed with
