I decided to make a more seriously minded thread on the evolution of the franchise than the majority that has been showing up. Rather than harping on the graphics like so many seem to bandwagon on to, I'd like to point out something that may have potentially been missed in the oversight of the details.
In Act 5 of Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction, you have a creature which was known as the Siege Beast. It was a large creature, though it was limited by the game itself. So, why am I bringing them up? Well, haven't you figured it out yet?
Yes, I do believe there's been a reemergance of one of the old(and larger) creatures of the franchise. Discuss.
Most of the bosses in D2 were just regular monsters that look slightly different and are tougher or have a couple of powers.
In D3... holy shit, the bosses are cool. And the ones in the gameplay video are only mini-bosses. I love how when the first mini-boss is created, and there's a little explosion, the explosion flings his summoners away, probably smashing them into walls and killing them.
Siege beast in D2 was pretty cool (all of Act V was)... I don't think they're the same creature.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Ranger - Ranged Weapon Mastery (fire a bow or javelins like a machine gun!), Traps (MK style!), Pets (lions, tigers, and bears oh my!) - physical damage based
Demonologist - Bone Spells (Necro style!), Avatar (shapeshift into a demon!), Furies (evil spirits that hang around you, giving party bonuses) - mix of physical damage and magic
LEAP ATTACK!!!!! PLAGUE OF TOADS!!!!!
SLOW TIME!!!!!
I'm so glad they're doing for the bosses what they are. In fact, Diablo was the only boss I really had fun doing. The rest were for getting through the game, or for the loot.
-- Also, by looking at the two monsters, and the other monsters in the game, I have come to the conclusion that "Seige Beast" is more likely a class of beasts. Rather than an individual monster.

Also, Barbarian tossed in for good measure.
Also, best petition ever (in your sig).
Fuck you, I'm a dragon.
