But everyone should know that "Allah" is just "God" in Arabic, nothing else. Not like "Buddha" as an example. Your just using the Arabic word for 'God'.
In before Marduk.
In all seriousness though.
Why the hell is the Assassin forgotten when we think about these Asian elements in Diablo, it's probably one of the most important pieces.

Which is a even more awesome image. God all buff wearing a white flowing robe and bandana smoking a cigar and holding a nuke over one shoulder and a small machine gun in the other hand.
I don't think they are. The LoD manual concept art is pretty Asian looking though, at least armor and weapon wise.
The Assassins as just mages trained to kill mages I think.
To ensure what happened with Bartuc and Horazon never happens again the Order of the Mage Slayers was created.
I got the manual next to me but I don't feel like typing out the whole page.
They arn't mages, they are forbidden from magic, and they use devices that use magic instead of using it themselves so they can't be corrupted like the mages.

Well they're part of the Vizjerei mage clan right? At least that's what I'm reading. The Vizjerei created a sort of fail safe.
I didn't mean that the Assassins actually used magic. I know they don't it says so right here in the manual. They use "ingenius devices" and draw their power from within rather than outside sources that can be corrupted by demonic influence.
This thread is under attack, run for the hills!!! But seriously, I didn't even get to see the conversation that followed my previous post:mad:
But if there were guns I wouldn't mind seeing a unique "waist mounted Gatling gun". It would have to have like a 200 str req tho, and would have a hand crank (or a mana motor:O). Come to think of it, a "mana motor" wouldn't be too far fetched considering the rotational properties that the sin traps showed.Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself^_^
The katar is Indian, and the only class specific weapon of the Sin.
In Arreat Summit, she has some Katana or Wakizashi in her belt but that would be used like a ninja* at best. --- Just checked Arreat Summit. Those weapons arent necessarily Japanese. Especially the design of the scabbard. --- Checked Wiki and Middle-Eastern swords look also somehow similiar.
Also Vizjerei are Middle-Eastern, Act 2 i guess.
LOL so the sin is Indian.
*Very important and kinda long note: Ninja never used fancy sword fighting, nor did they have those wonderful, stright blades. They used cheap, poor quality, shorter that normal katana, because they couldnt find something better. The blade was shorter so they could draw it fastly, and also store some other things in the scabbard. They just stabbed their oppenent quicky so they could run away, and usually didnt fight the guards. More oftenly they used throwing little weapons, and even primitive smoke bombs. Iron powder in a egg shell. =D Seriously, that was one option to make a smoke bomb.
The Indian Culture is actually asian, but like on the edge of being asian, but technically asian.
Also, ninja's were people who carried out stealthy assassinations, not nessesarily a Shinobi, which is a diciplined assassin.
I remember an old ninja story of a boy whom was the relative of a powerful magistrate, the magistrate was threatened by the father of the boy, and had his entire family murdered. The boy oddly enough survived.
After a few days the boy had mustered a knife, and some rope. He snuck into the Magistrates room by scaling a small wall by using the rope and a tree, and entering into the sleeping quarters through the garden. He ripped the mans throat open and escaped without being caught.
I don't quite remember the final conclusion but It was something like he eventually came to rule a province himself under a different name.
The point is, he is considered a ninja because of his actions and that it's not a title moreso an action.
That's my point of view on the differences of Shinobi and Ninja, though everyone says they're the same, I don't think that it's necessarily true.
Yeah, Indian weaponry is similair to Chinese maybe, but not that much Japan.
Seems like theres some controversy about ninja, shinobi etc., but i dont care. My point was that the Sin in LOD isnt much of a Japanese or at last Chinese assassinator.
Cool story BTW.
Yeah it isn't too much of that but a lot of what it has could be seen to be strikingly similar.
If you look at the items on my Original Post you'll notice quite a few Korean, Chinese and Mongolian weapons items. (the remind me so much of Mongolian Horde helmets)
The Assassin appears to be a mix of many central asian cultures. India, Japan, China, Mongolia, and I think some of those items are Korean too.
It's just that they seem to be progressively expressing ancient cultures more and more, such as the Roman and Greek Armor in diablo 1, and 2, and the Amazon, Druid, aswell as Assassin.
It kind of throws everything out of place since the time period that this game takes place is in late 13th century, early 14th.
And then what throws me off is how they include the 16th century stylizing of the Necromancer.
As long as the characters are white cept sorc. im happy :). I dont wanna be playin no asian char.. no offense, i aint racist, but thats the way i feeeeel.

Your not racist, just intolerant, which in this day and age is just as bad. Its not like you will be staring at a giant asian face all the time, It will be a top down view of a guy in armor killing demons, its not that much of a change, as for the cut scenes, it would be a bit strange to hear an asian accent talking to Cain (but with a good voice actor it wouldn't be so strange).

The assassin never really striked me as asian...

And yes, the items are strongly asian-based.
Edit--
Darnit, Link beat me.
If you guys re-read my OP I talk about it more (I updated the OP with like 3 or 4 paragraphs.
