Diablo 3 was being produced right after LoD, the company was cut short and it took a year for blizzard to pick up where they started and do it their way. You can trust my words, i'm never wrong. 2003-4 is when Blizzard North shut down, blizzard picked up production in 2005, a little over a year after North was shut down.
It's been in production for 5 years now.
It's highly unlikely that they will release it this year, you all know how long they take to debug just for a release. I say Q3 2009
Srsly guys i'm not trolling, i'm telling you the truth.
as much as I'd like to believe this, I cant. Simply because the developers themselves said that only the first act was "almost" fully playable. And cause they said that only those 2 classes were "almost" fully playable too.
To complete the game in matter content and characters, then fine tune it in matter balance (game difficulty, pvp) takes about a year at least for a normal company to accomplish if the graphics and story are complete. Now for Blizzard I'd count with an additional 6-12 months (leads to a total sum of 18-24 months).
Burning Crusade was content only, still took loads of years to finish.
I'd really love to see it as soon as this winter, but I wouldn't get my hopes up too soon
hah they are making up release dates so that they can make up more money than their competition by pre-orders. Nothing strange here though, those release dates are not true!

Diablo 3 is graphically and artistically great, there needs to be variety in the game, instead of only plain and dark areas!
+Wouldn't it be better and more interesting if from a sunny beautiful day, mist starts covering the screen, rain starts falling, thunders and lightning striking and it starts to darken, instead of constant dark!?
First, D3 is being worked on for 5 years now, and FUCK no it's not worth the waiting, if it is by some weird chance does come out in 3 more years then its going to make 10 years of waiting for it. It will either come out this year, or early 2009. Fuck waiting. And plus who the fuck makes a game for 7 whole years???
Here, check the development section: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diablo_III
I've yet to read that entry, and someone has probably beat me to this, but lol at referring to wikipedia for official information.
Im sure all the pro current art design kids would want the game released out next week right? We dont care whats in it, as long as it has Diablo on it!!! Yea!!
Blizzard will announce the release date when they feel like it's ready. Any other information regarding the release date, even from their parent company Vivendi is useless. Blizzard has always taken as much time as they've needed to finish their games, even with so called "official" release date announcements. This is how Blizzard has always operated, so unless you hear it from Blizzard themselves sepcualtion is useless.
Vivendi, the company who is PUBLISHING the game, doesn't know when it's being published.
It is possible that she is lying, which seems unlikely because after research this Gameplay has a clean record of posting release date information before confirmation by the publishers. Gameplay IS a UK company, and it's kinda of odd that Vivendi is UK based as well.
Keep in mind Diablo 3 has been in the works for a confirmed 3+ years and possibly up to 7-8. This has potential to be accurate.
Vivendi's retail management is not handled or directly related to those who are actually working on the project, even from a marketing standpoint.
So yes it's probably safe to assume that a 12.1.08 release date is very unlikely.
This is complete speculation (not that the rest of this thread wasn't) but wasn't D3 code named hydra? If it was maybe the November release is credible because WOTLK is November 08 (i think?), SC2 is rumored December 08, so if D3 is November 08... 3 games this fall... HYDRA! I dunno.. I will take my D3 whenever I can get it!

Though it's pure speculation, the logic sounds reasonable.

Nothings impossible except for a few things...
If your insane, but still sane enough to know it, are you insane or sane?

Not at all odd actually. Holiday pre-order sales. I'd venture to guess we wont see the title until sometime in 09 or later. But not at early as 08.
