Just throwing my opinion out if they are looking at a new class why not do something similar to Death Knights in WoW and have a demon that turns on diablo and fights alongside the nephalem? Could even have a little story line where you have to unlock the character by finding them locked in a dungeon in hell and breaking them free.
the will hardly introduce new class because there are 2 of each primary stat classes and each have 4 sets so what they need to do is improve QoL and balance those sets

This argument against new classes blows my mind.
It's matters, quite literally almost zero percent if the 'balance' of main stat is off. Why? Because a long ago introduced feature; smart loot. It doesn't matter if there's two dex users, or 34 of them, 85% of your loot will still be smart loot, IE your loot won't change at all.
Because of that, it's completely in the realm of possibilities to add at least one new class.
I dont think a new class is coming... If Blizzard is gonna do anything to the game it will be an expansion. which could possibly include a new class!! but we'll see

I agree. A new expansion, I think, will offer 2 more classes. Ranged Str user and a Meele Int user would be awesome.
In a future expension, I'm pretty sure the Druid class will be considered. Having a class that can shapeshift would bring something original to the game as it is now. Also, it could also act as a more melee spellcaster.
Another idea would be to bring the Necromancer. It will have to differ a lot from the Witch doctor though!
Druid and assassin again, would be great. melee/spell-caster hybrid for druid, and melee/ranged hybrid for assassin. I think with DH in 2.4 and the start of the impale and different DH playstyles, is there way of testing things out a bit, that play style is pretty cool, and i think if they added assassin they would be kinda similar to that, with traps, combos, impale-like attacks etc, so jump in and out of range and set up mobs (controller for gr's?) although might be to similiar to DH (maybe that was thier inspiration originally for demon hunter?)
Druid would be awesome as well, bring back shape shift stuff, and massive group buffs, and the plant vines etc, i could def see druid as a huge boon for support for gr's, and they had some really cool spells in d2 (although they were pretty weak damage wise). I'd love to see a pet build as well, crows, wolves, bears etc.
In order to incorporate both classes, i think they should also think about splitting stats. Like instead of the same old stats like only dex for monks and DH, why not add in additional benefits from say int or str, and then have gems that are multi-color too, a dex/str gem for example, or int/str. Instead of just stacking all dex gems like current (or resist gems for toughness)
make int give you resists innate for all classes, so you'd consider dex/int gems rather than straight dex, or even specific colors like emerald now grants attack speed and crit chance...basically overhaul the gems/stat system so that the 2 new classes could be an awesome hybrid type setup, which would add more variety, more variety of stats/min and max and gems, because currently the whole system is extremely bland/boring/old
Druid would use dex/str/int for example, dex for crit/speed (wolf bonuses with it) and then str for bear and attack power, and int for resource/resists for caster stuff, they could even add in a talent that takes your dex and converts into str or int (say 5 to 1) so if you happen to have more dex you can kinda control stats better smooth out highs and lows
Ruby gems grant crit chance and % to max weapon damage idk...there's a lot that could be done still.

I actually agree with you, but I read that somewhere on official forums, hardly new class will come with patch, maybe in expansion, should it ever come, I kinda lost faith ...
I sincerely doubt any new expansion won't have a new class. The new expansion will be released mid-late 2017 since Legion is coming out in September this year they never release expansions to multiple games that close together so their sales don't overlap. On top of that since they just released that big patch 2.4 with that new zone and all new features that definitely was blizzards way of telling us "hey guy's its going to be another year or more for the expansion sorry".
I think it will definitely have a new class and maybe even 2 just like the last expansion for D2. My guess is a shapeshifter type as the guy above said but it won't be similar to the druid because the witch doctor is the druid remake. And not an assassin, they already have the Demon Hunter which has a lot of skills from the assassin in D2. So it'll probably be the necromancer since there's that event in Act 2 where you help the necromancer out, i felt like that was foreshadowing for the future expansions. It makes sense because every class in D3 is renamed something else besides the barbarian. Demon hunter > assassin, Witch Doctor > semi-druid, Crusader > Paladin, Wizard > sorcerer, Barb > barb. Monk > amazon. So based on that my guess is they will either straight up bring the necromancer back with the same name and/or some sort of shapeshifter that has nothing to do with nature since the witch doctor already has that on lock. If they don't bring back the necro they will call it a "warlock" that can summon the dead (and/or demons) and probably shapeshift into some demonic form. If i was a betting man id go with that.
