You do know Blizzard will take no notice, and continue with there, "silly wow-colourful game". I really don't see the connection between them. I didn't know there was so much hate behind a colourful game. Seems to me you want this game to make you more depressed then you are already.
I really hope they ignore them actually. Or cancel the game as I no longer care at this point and Blizzard shouldn't publish a game to a bunch of whiners that want the game to be "darker" - which not everyone wants.
Will they still buy the game? They can kid thereselves and say not, but they'll still buy it.
Agree, guys at Blizz know what they are doing better than the whiners, WHO NEVER HAD ANY THING TO WITH D2 OR D1 DESIGN PROCESS.
With a group of 8000 whiner they should go make their own oh-so-darker, gritty, washed out, all brown game, while we get the Diablo 3 that BLIZZARD is making NOW not the one you want them to make.

Judging by the amount of time and effort it takes up to set up new e-mail accounts, I'd estimate that roughly 70% are legitimate. That is a complete, out-of-the-blue guess. Yet, I think even if only 2000 were legitimate, that should be reason enough for Blizzard to take notice. If I were a developer with a track record like theirs and 2000 of my franchise's most active community members had a problem with something, I would consider changing it simply out of respect.

so hopefully Blizzard will make atleast some small adjustments
I 100% agree. They won't redo any of the models (except maybe scale them down in the case of the armor pieces), and I don't want them to. That would push the release back too far. However, alterations to texture saturation and hue as well as overall lighting and gamma are very doable. I think Blizzard will be very willing to make those sorts of adjustments.

@AsaTJ - What I'm getting at, is you can put fake emails that dont even exist in apparently, therefore not needing to set them up.
I used a fake name....
I think that the majority of player don't/won't care. I mean, when I first saw it, i though "it looks like diablo, just 3d". But something was off. I would like to see a darker approach to the graphics, mainly in the tombs/when it was raining. Ultimately, as long as the gameplay is all great, I'm in.
you know that changing this is a big deal.... when i 1st saw it i new it wus d3 cuz the look of it.... shit and if you do look there is a lot of blood in it already.. only thing that needs to be fixed is the big ass sholder pads, if you look at the picks some nub made closely you can tell there done very poorly; the ones they made darker
This could hurt or help the game. If they have their own direction and then decide due to fans wanting a change, it could delay the game even longer. If they do decide to make some subtle changes that would be cool, but the problem is we are looking at a 20 minute gameplay trailer and making judgements on that, what if the rest of the game is different? what if the setting gets darker and more brooding as the game moves along. I think it is way to quick to pass judgement on the art style this early. Just my opinion.

I agree 100%. Here is what I said earlier in this thread.

I think the petition was jumping the gun a bit. I didn't realize that designing a game was done by committee these days. If that's the case- it will never be done.
I hope Blizzard has the foresight to listen, but then continue down the path that is best for the game (and not for self-appointed committee members).
Because, with the amount of poo-flinging and tantrums from the vocal minority does not make for a better game.
Yes, I said vocal minority.
The game, when released, will become "Game of the Year" with over 1 million units sold. A petition is not going to stop it from achieving this milestone- nor will you not buy it when it is released.
I understand your heart is in the right place, but put down the lit torches and be patient. Blizzard is not going to fail us- all their products go through the progression. Diablo 3 will be no different.
One last thing, be grateful for what is coming- and let your voice be heard for what you also like about the game. I mainly hear the negativity- and it sounds trite & screechy.

the problem is, its not just the lightining
to my view, the textures are soft to a level that i would rather call them paint work
the huge size of the soulder pads wont change over the course of the game, they tend to actually get bigger lol
to me those open dungeons, that look like rooftops like someonelse said, just dont seem right, i liked the contrast between teh open surface areas and the clastrophobic dungeons
imo, those green and blue lights on teh dungeon are the second best (after shoulder pads bigger than teh head) example of heavy cartoonish feel
If it takes an extra year to get the character models right then so be it. We have been waiting for years for the D2 successor as it is. The old time diehard Diablo fans want a worthy successor not something that looks like Zelda or WoW. The art panel says that they wanted to make the characters look "Epic". We do not need them to look Epic. We need them to BE Epic. It actually looks better when a small warrior is battling a huge monster and wins against all odds. The armor and weapons should be in proper scale.
Just cause the kiddies love WoW graphics does not mean there is not a whole bunch of other more mature players (with money) out there that won't buy up a ton of games that are not so cutesy. Besides the WoW players will go back to that game after a short stint at playing Diablo 3 anyway. It is just too different from what they know and are comfortable with.
If you want Diablo with cute graphics then play Mythos. Please Blizzard spend the time to get this right!

diablo 3 will probably go over 1M copies, but 75% of these fans have never participated a community. i have about 10 friends that are fans to the point of willing spend alot of money on one copy (its really expensive here in brazil about 100 bucks.........) but all of them have no ideia about all these discussion forums, and never heard about the petition
we Are the hardcore fanbase, and they can take the petition into consideration, though the fact you can sign in several times may ruin it

didnt it work for SC2 huh?!
$100 USD? That is a little expensive. Hopefully Battle.net 2 (2nd Generation) will still be free.
All everyone wants is a great solid game that will stand the test of time.
I want my kids to play it some day.

Ever heard of immersion?
Yes. The Warcraft universe is immersive on the whole, actually.
If you can immerse your self in a cartoony world, then your brain must be doing more work rendering the graphics than your computer.

It's wierd, I would have taught that a petition site woul have email proofing and IP checks...

Nope. They just send an email to the address. It does not have to be yours.
But, the petition is still recorded.
