Hmmm..Will I be able to run D3 if I just ran to Best Buy or w/e and bought a Comp with atleast 2GB+ of Ram and Dual-Core Processor?
No-one can say for sure yet as they haven't released system reqs., btu I'd say that would have you set to go on CPU / RAM, but the big question seems to revolve around how powerful the video card needs to be...
Just bought a new comp a month ago, so doubtful I'd buy a
I'm certain that a quad-core machine with a single 8800 GTS 512 can handle D3 at pretty high settings (even if we don't know specifics), so the upgrades wouldn't be so much *for* diablo as for gaming in general.
We +/- have the same system and I'm sure its way more than enough to play Diablo 3. Unless they will make graphical imporvement which is unlikely. Although my current computer is 1 month old, I think that even my last computer which is 2 and half years old could handle it very well (and I don't even remember what it had :S)
I have a Duo Core running at 2.5gh and a 9600gt that's overclocked. I think I'll be fine running D3 on my 22 inch monitor Although I may need to upgrade my graphics card for other games besides D3.
I have 2gb ram, 8400MGS and AMD Turion64 X2 proccessor TL-60 2.00Ghz, but I have Vista
Conclusion: I think I won't need to upgrade my system.

Prolly would even be overkill for D3. Blizz said that they wanna keep the requirements low, that said the 8800GTX not only could run it, but most likely run it on almost max settings.
Also take a look at some ATI cards, they are getting much better recently, especially 4850 v GT280 (I believe those are the new names). And with the advent of DX10.1 which will run on ATI cards also, there is really no reason to stay out of the ATI market anymore in my opinion.

oh ok thanks. well im still planning on getting an 8800, good thing d3 doesnt come out for a long time yet. right now i have a 7900, would that be good too? another reason why im getting an 8800 is cuz im also playing unreal tournament 3 and cod4
I can't be sure but the 7900 should be able to run D3 pretty well also. I dunno about max settings, but it will be able to run it for sure.
I've never played UT or CoD4 all too much, but if you google how the video card you have, and the video card you want to buy perform in all those games. See what the performance increase is gonna be like, and if you think its worth it.
I personally run 2 8800GTs and those two run everything I've came across just fine. But google is your friend, there are tons upon tons of reviews and benchmarks tests for just abot every video card.
8800 is older technology. If you're looking at Nvidia check out the GT260/280 or ATI's cheaper (and, honestly, faster for the $$) 4850/4870. 4870 has the best price:performance out right now.

I'm almost certain I'll have to get a new cpu to run D3 because this cpu runs Guild Wars and has a slight lag (not much but enough to have me annoyed enough to drop the game)
I was actually thinking about it, but to be honest I have no experience in building a PC. Also, I have no idea where I could get parts, because I'm not interested in ordering them off the internet.

Actually bro, it really doesn't take a genius to build a new pc. I built mine from case up, ordered EVERYTHING from newegg.com, you can build a monster rig. I bought everything from that site. After you purchase a product or two, you get promos for certain things to get free shipping and what not, plus you can get insurance n whatnot for your items you order. Hook it up dude.

Save up and get a 4870. It's worth the extra $100 easily.

That might be a good place to start, if google can't help you, then post on these forums and they certainly will be able to help you out.

If you had a complete version of it I think you would be dead by now.
but anyway, any of you guys know what my specs are like, the diablo games are usually the only cpu games I play.

I also plan on upgrading my VC and PSU on this PC.

I have enough for the PC right now, and I'm going to start saving for the VC and PSU.
Do you think that this PC will be able to handle D3?

I'm running:
790i Ultra
9800Gx2
QX9650
Creative x-fi 7.1 audio card.
1000 Watt power supply
750 gb harddrive.
Also, bout to hook up a new 9800 Gx2 and run quad-sli. Like I said, I built NO computers before I built my own. It's not hard at all cuz.
But I need an excuse to upgrade mine cause it's a dog atm.
Well, I looked at Newegg and since I'm from Canada would it cost more money for S&H or is there another site for Canadians?
