Hot damn he looks cool without the terrible WoW armor, cut down on the massive glow on the weapons and that would be some sweet graphics IMHO.

Good thing it's not your website then. Because no one can look at that photo and say Diablo III doesn't look like WoW. Seriously, I'm surprised that the petition wasn't demanding the resignation of all artists working on Diablo III.
Many people have been playing blizzard games for years. I first started in 1994, I've bought nearly every game they've released since then for 1 reason. They are always the best.
So in over a decade of playing their games this is the most appalling, disgusting, and downright gutwrenching feeling I've ever had for one of their games. That's because the entire Diablo III environment is copy/pasted from WoW. So don't give anyone that <1% of the game BS because every candle, chair, table, wall, railing I've seen has been copy and pasted, that should NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER happen.

I for one can't see why we need a petition to make Blizzard change the colortheme. Rob Pardo has stated that they've only been doing content for Act I - and that they would like to use the colors as a feel.
Since nobody here knows what direction the story will go - how can we possibly know how dark it will be!
Ive said it before and I'll say it again. Let people speculate, let people criticize. Then let people disagree on the criticizers. It is clear that blizzard will read this forum a lot. Our speculation and rants will cause the game to develop and progress. Obviously, with half of the fans on one side, and the other half on the other about graphics, blizzard will do something about it. But seriously, calling each other idiots and emo's will not help Blizzard in any way.
I feel bad now, I signed that petition because i saw only a couple pictures like the 1 of the huge armor on the barbarian, but i just now saw for the 1st time some footage of the game in motion on X-play on G4 and im very impressed.....I like what i see now....
Just a note im currently on a western pacific deployment onboard the uss ronald reagan so i havent been able to view the videos at all...

Part of me didn't notice the happy rainbow sunshine lighting and graphics in light of the revelation that, at last Blizzard answered our prayers. Though in my defense I did admittedly play World of Warcraft for a very long time and things like "bubble" graphics and cartoon-like dungeons tend to become normal over time. When compared to it's predecessor [Diablo II] however, I hope they see the err in their current design as I really did like the gothic-style architecture and shadowy landscapes.

I wish I would have found this out sooner! This sums up my thoughts once I got over the initial shock that Diablo3 was coming out, when I watched it something was missing but I couldn't quite figure it out, it was... different. After looking into it for a while I realized that they were headed in WoW's direction for graphics/colors/Blending while this might be a nice style it doesn't fit the game. I think when we play Diablo we get caught up in it, the world is perfect and how everything manifests is just amazing. I feel a VERY big part of the game will be gone if the textures aren't molded back into the grotesque Gothic and crude form that it once was.
I appreciate the effort, but your edit looks like a night scene, and even then it's a bit washed out. I would say that the colors just need a bit more contrast and perhaps just slightly mellowed out. Other than that it's really just the models and textures, which can't be achieved with filters ( in regards to movie editing - you might be able to get a good filter on a still image ). As for many of the models, they are just far too exaggerated which isn't cohesive with the look of the previous Diablo games. You couldn't change the look of the models without significant Photoshop work.

Video was made by myself, all credits go to me.
You must be using a weird avi codec because it freezes when I try and play it.
Edit: Got it to work finally. You made it like 1000 times too gray.
Sorry you didn't like it! I have a gamma correction on my monitor, so maybe it made things appear different. I will see if I can make it any better.
I used Adobe After Effects CS3.
