If they didn't want to rule out a certain group of people they would not have made it rated M.
honostly, game makers have nothing to do with those ratings, its an entirely different organization that is involved in rating video games, movies, ect. you really think they WANT to shove profit asside. thats why they make this shit in the first place.
I was actually trying to create a thread about not having fees, but i was also saying that people still play D1 and its OLD OLD OLD, becaus its free. Either they have to kill off the old games to make server used for other things...or they keep them around 4ever.
Szczuldo Captialism,in practice, dose not work like that. Several things can limit your ability to move up the payroll. Location, education, race, gender, experience, background, etc.. Not everyone may be in a good situation like you and me. And wouldn't a video game be "wast[ing] money on unnecessary luxuries." You just contradicted what you said in the same post.
Personally, I hope Blizzard charges $250 a month to play. If there's anything worse than playing with kids, it's playing with poor people. This would kill two birds with one stone.
just give us damn expansion packs (downloadable and purchasable) every half a year or year otr whatever....i don't care! just NO DAMN SUBSCRIPTIONS!!! I can guarantee they WILL lose players if they do that.
The game is Rated M, no one under 17 is supposed to play it .
/random, ESRB isn't legally binding.
1. As one of these 'kids' myself, I'm tired of middle-aged men with annoying voices telling people exactly where to go, what their spouse is doing, how drunk they are, how tough work was. Teenagers aren't all annoying, just as all adults aren't exactly adult-like.
2. For some reason, I'm thinking that not many of the games in the D2 era were updated as frequently and as much as WOW is now...so the two aren't comparable. I think that more updates would be expected.
(3) RAising the price due to cheating - Bans did that...they kind of forced you to obtain a new CD-key in some way...
New stuff every week?
Idk...that doesn't sound very fun to me. In 2 months time, that's an assload of new uniques/quests/whatever a week...
imo this thread is gonna go up in flames - but d3 wont have subs - they only have monthly fees on mmos for exra content, and out of the box games like warcraft, starcraft and diablo are not mmos and dont need extra content, so no fees

Very well put.. and 1. You're so right, but I'm 21.
Instead of a mandatory subscription, why not voluntary like Hellgate? Just offer rewards for those willing to pay, just make sure the rewards aren't ridiculously unbalancing or stuff. Just a thought, but it would allow for a bit of both worlds.

I am against any sort of monthly fee. It costs me much more than it returns
1) I have never played a game where a monthly fee seemed to do any good for the game aside from providing cash to server maintenence, and the rest seems to just go to companies profits. The games without monthly fees I've played have kept updates rolling out just as often as the P2P ones.
2) It will not keep kids out like some people think it will... you need to look at some other games that are P2P and see if they're all mature
ok i meant nicely put on his post before that one...i see NO reason for monthly payment. please don't be a money hungry company and force people to pay for a game they already frikkin payed for.

Iono, a monthly fee would suck out the online experience of the previous two games. Diablo's not an MMORPG. I personally don't like carrying the burden of having a limited amount of time before I have to hand in ten bucks over again. It's not that hard to find a couple of buddies on battle.net and host a private game. Besides, it's not a social occasion for adults; it's a game, and I'm not comfortable dedicating part of my income (even if it's a tiny amount) to it. That's why I don't play WoW.
They could always update the game via expansion packs anyways. I'm sure they'll have plenty of money from the billions of fans awaiting to buy both SC2 and D3.
So what's the big deal? I'd like it for everyone to be able to buy the game and play on the net without any strings attached because a fee would restrict access to elitist geeks.
In the U.S. (I don't know where you live), video game clerks are not legally able to sell an M rated video game to anyone under the age limit (and you are prompted for identification.)
And on this "kid" note: we were all kids at some point, and whether you want to admit it or not, I'm sure you've been annoying as a kid. Games are made for kids to play. We played Diablo I as kids (most of us), and Diablo II (most of us), and the expansion (most of us.) They learn from their mistakes and they grow up. I think that is one aspect that online gaming actually benefits society- there's a point when you realize how you're acting and what you're saying, and BAM you grow up. Or at least that's how it happened with me.

Look at my men. Their courage hangs by a thread. If this is to be our end, then I would have them make such an end, as to be worthy of remembrance.
