No monthly fee please. I rather not have to worry about more and more content that I won't have time to play. Give me an expansion or two on top of a patch here and there that adds some cool new features/items/etc...and I'm good to go.
Your horrible, thread starter. Just because someone is 14, doesn't mean their immature. I've seen a lot of mature 12-15 year olds. Why can they not be allowed to play?
Plus, if it were ever to be P2P, Blzzard would probably make those pre-paid cards for D3.
First, if there's a monthly subscription, there will be game cards. As someone already said, most of the kids use game cards. Paying won't get rid of the kids.
Second, this game will probably be rated M, which is much more effective in getting rid of the kids.
Again with the content updates... But this might actually be a valid reason.
i doubt there'll be a monthly fee cuz blizzard would not have it's own game compete with another one of it's own game(WoW). secondly i was 14 when i first played d2 and nobody seemed to care. i bet you were about the same age as well.
Well id rather them just add it as a one time fee because i plan on playing this game for a while ( dont see many games coming up any were in the near future id have interest in) Oh and please dont let the fee fool you the only reason there are no kids on wow is because there parents hear of the awful addiction cases. Have you ever played halo gears of war? somehow there are more 7 year olds with 300 dollar xboxes pay a 7 dollar per month subscription and buy 60 dollar games.
Now really i wouldnt mind paying 10 bucks a month to play as long as i get my updates and good servers but this will probably be a guisness world record for software sells being with all the new mmorpg fans and the rise of gaming from WOW
i would only consider paying for a hack free/cheat free environment and for better quality server (as in better pings, no lag).
but in general i'm against it when we're talking about a singleplayer game with multiplayer options (as every Diablo was so far and Diablo III will be).
dont forget that World of Warcraft, Lord of the Rings Online, Age of Conan are grand examples of games that required payment (credit card/game cards - and Age of Conan can only be sold to 18 year old people or higher) that unfortunately for us had, have (and most likely will keep having) a very big amount of children play the game and (in many cases) ruin our gaming experience.
your are retarded you want to pay to keep kids out..... there are plenty of spoiled kids in pay to pay games with their retarded parent paying for them. For the regular updates they can make expansion. I will be more then happy to buy expansion. BUT THERE IS NO WAY ILL DO PLY TO PLAY
I been lurcking around this forum for about a week and finally registered. I just wanted to add my thoughts in about this. Read before you flame please.
There are many reasons I would like there to be a monthly fee, or at least wouldn't mind it.
1. Keep the kiddies out. I am tired of 14 year old punks ruining my gaming experience. With a monthly fee, that is payable by credit card not game card, it would get rid of a lot of immaturity and would result in a better game. The game is rated M for a reason. Go watch your bob the builder and leave the gaming to the adults, thanks.
2. If blizzard plans to regularly update this game like wow, then I don't mind one bit paying for the content. It would give extra money to blizz for new enhancements and whatnot. We were all complaining about how d2 hardly ever got updated. Well, why should they when they have no reason incentive to. Added levels, bosses, items, bug fixes, and world events is way worth the cost to me.
There are many other reason however those are the main two.
Also, something else i thought of. Let say they start out with a fee of 5-10 dollars a month. Thats cheap as hell. However, every time you are caught using a hack, cheat, or exploit they raise that price 5 dollars. It would be a incentive not to cheat because it would start effecting the wallet.
Lastly, to the people who say they they cant afford a monthly payment. Honestly, if you cant afford 15 bucks max a month then you really need to get a better job or something and not play games. Im sorry, but if you are struggling to pay that small ammount of money you have other issues.
Bring your lunch to work 3 days a MONTH and save that money.
Dont spend 19 bucks at the movies and have that money.
Dont buy a case of beer and you can have the money.
If you are responsible with it you can easily find extra money.
Well thats my two cents, flame on.
umm have you ever played xbox live, or any other MMO in general?
Bah, I'm really sick of these thread requesting monthly fees. Are some guys retarded or what?
Diablo 3 IS NOT an MMO, therefore there will not be additional content, like quests, etc. It's like, fidex content. At most, there will be patches and maybe innovations, like the sinergyes introduced with the 1.10 patch for Diablo 2.
Additionaly, having a fee does not keep out children/retarded people away from the game, since like some posters have noted, these people HAVE PARENTS, WHICH ARE THE SAME PEOPLE THAT BUY THE GAMES.
This is, unfortunately, a problem present on on-line multiplayer genre since the dawn of the internet and will very likely never be solved. The only solution is to select the people you play with.
Addionaly, Battle.net is a service made available by Blizzard to support the online platform, which is one the (main) premisses of the game.
blizzard will not make diablo 2 pay 2 play, just because it is a battle.net game, which means they will have to make wc3 tft and sc2 pay to play. gg kthx bye
If there was any possibility of there being a monthly fee, we'd have heard about it by now. With the announcement of every subscription-based game I can think of, 25% of the FAQ is filled with questions about the subscription methods.
Both of your points fail. Monthly fee doesn't keep kiddies out .. Look at WoW. Plus, look at Diablo II, and when patch v1.10 was released. That's probably the most in-depth patch ever released to a non-P2P game especially so late. Wouldn't you rather them keep the multiplayer like Diablo 2, but then release more than 1 expansion pack?
Wow. ok NO they will not put a monthly subscription on D3.
1)"Dont spend 19 bucks at the movies and have that money"
So you dont want us to do anything but sit at the computer? Maybe some people on this forum aren't as boring as you.
2)Dont buy a case of beer and you can have the money"
Oh? so now everyone that plays games must drink..good way to look at it..
In short it would ruin the Diablo franchise to have a monthly fee. So there is no way they are going to put one on it. Sorry.
You are a moron. This won't keep the kids out at all. Most parents would pay for the kids monthly fee with there credit card. Yeah, video games are for adults ONLY. What is that crap? Moron.
This is probably been already stated, but every person I know that is under 18 and plays WoW, is under their parents or friends credit card. No one uses this game card crap. And, I'd have to say, Kids are about maybe 35-45% of blizzards cash.

agreed
I dont have the money for it.
and yeah , im 16 years old

I cant play the game?
It doesnt says im immature...

It is free and will ALWAYS be free.
