Because carrying armor in some unknown sack, such as a polearm, some sort of platemail, lots of pots and charms, is SOOOO realistic. Where were they carrying these items in d2, it never did make sense to me...but then again its not RL so i cut them some slack and didnt freak out.
No it won't kill the game, but it won't be the same game anymore. Can you understand the difference, I think you can't.
so you want them to not remove any of the flaws, in the majority's mind, of D2, such as constantly full inventories and pot spamming, and just make the same game?
I think there should be something for potions as tomes were for scrolls, while items stay with the tetris format. It'd be a lot more practical but would keep the challenge of saving space for drops.

Maybe it is not realistic for you, but at least it is FAR more realistic than the mmorpg alternative, and it add the claustrophobic feel to the game.

You are saying that Diablo 2 inventory was a flaw ? It was a top-seller. I don't it was a flaw. I don't think you are a true fan of Diablo.

If you're honestly this concerned about the inventory of the game you're worrying about things that are far too minimal. Yes it may be more realistic, but in the end its just a backpack.
I think that you shouldn't just be able to carry as many items as you want, but I also think that your inventory should not restrain you from completing a dungeon in one run through, and force you to go back to town in the middle of the dungeon.
If you get claustrophobic because of carrying little amounts of armor, you need more help than what improvements to d2 can get you.
Can you please tell me something relevant to the discussion. Yes it add a claustrophobic feel because you need to find space for the thing you find and sometime you need to leave items on the ground. You need to make decisions, and it adds a challenge.
If you can't admit d2 had flaws, then you my friend are not a true fan of diablo.
EVERY game has flaws.
An inventory that have been working and that people have been liking in 2 of the previous games is not a flaw to me. I am not saying Diablo 2 had not flaws, but the inventory was not a one of them.

I've heard people complain about the inventory system of d2 SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooOoOoOOooOoOOoO many times its ridiculous.

WHAT? You think that the BAGS were a CHALLENGE of a game? Thats just stupid. Oh yea I gotta walk down this corridor to kill a huge ass demon but lets make sure that my bags aren't full so i can pick up his loot! Awww yea, so challenging, it thrills me every time i have to abandon some equipment. Yea, thats a great system.
Yea cuz changing the inventory is obviously going to kill the game. OMG MULES AREN'T NEEDED IM GONNA QUIT

If they continue like they are doing right now, then yes, D3 will equal hack and slash WoW.

EVERY game has flaws. It most likely changed (the bag system) because the loot system is changing as well... makes sense.

You're right. I'm sorry. D2 had no flaws, how silly of me.
WoW is a top seller, its certainly not flawless. Your argument makes no sense.
