OK look guys, I'm going to try and restate everything in a more easily understandable way.
Let's say Dungeon A averages about 20 drops from monsters + 2 epic drops from Boss monster while playing solo.
While playing with 2 people. Each person would still receive an average of 20 drops each, + 2 epic drops from said boss, each. However, monster and boss strength for this dungeon would increase with the number of people in the party, (perhaps taking the strength of each player into account as well? Not sure how well this would work.)
Dealing the final hit would have NO effect on drops. you could send an elite through the dungeon and kill the boss while leaving your level 1 at the start and then run through the dungeon finding YOUR drops, and finally to the boss where your drops will also be.
Magic find would be calculated for each individual player, as Jindujun suggested. Character A with 100% MF would be getting far more magic drops than Character B with 0% MF, while their MF rates have no effect on the other's drops.

This got me thinking, I can see people making a game leaving all their characters at the start and having their best killing character kill all the monsters then collect all the loot with their MF character(s). Hmmm
