I would like to know all of your views on how in DII you would only cast one spell, and if you ran out of mana, and had no pots, then you would have to use your melee attack, or run around and wait for it to regen. Would you rather in DIII be able to have a few nuke spells that drain you mana, and a few small spells that you could pretty much use all day and not worry about your mana levels, so that you run in, nuke or aoe like twice and then start spamming a worse skill so that you can keep your distance and still do damage? This concept kind of interests me so I would like to know your opinions.
I agree...thats what i love about diablo 2! the tactics behind the characters build in skill points, stat points, and gear they wore. all of it played into how many pots were needed for the player. some needed none, while others used pots as to not need to rely on gear or spells.
thats true...they can find a way (leach or regen items)..stuff like that...as well as energy points and all that good ol stuff. i like spamming pots but whatever.
They should make it so you can like Ctrl click an item, and a box pops up and you press a number or a un used letter on your keybord, and when you press that number/letter that item is activated.
that is a VERY interesting thought and POSSIBLY one i may enjoy. they need to still have things like mana and stamina and walk run speed in my opinion...this sounds like a new and enjoyable way to include those (im commenting on what variance mentioned).
Its been established Barbs use Fury while the WD uses mana. No more potion spamming - they've already stated this as well. I'm only wondering if potions are going to even EXIST, and if they do, im guessing they will be limited to major panic times, not as a method of general healing. I prefer that they get abolished altogether if they want to stray away from the potion-spam of DII.
but sorcs when added to warmth didnt need to use pots at all, i mean they could tele from rogue to kurast if they wanted to. the system works in d2 and in d3 i dont expect any major changes. maybe wd and other spellcasters will have a mana regen skill

Remember the String of Ears
"to the worm in horseradish, the world is horseradish."
I like potions and the belt.
Alll they need to do is create a cooldown period between each potion to reduce the potion spam and ta-da
Best of both worlds
Did you notice the difference between the colours of the mana bars?
Don't know if anybody mentioned yet.
It also seems, that the barb requires stamina for at least a couple of his spells, as you can see in screenshots.
Maybe the meele classes don't use mana but stamina?
Just a thought..
I didn't notice this at all, good eye. Your theory may be correct, because the barbarian obviously doesn't use mana, so it could very well be stamina.

stacking pots is what i loved about d1 and d2.
