isnt the day after thanksgiving the biggest sales day of the year... anyways they have stated at WWI thats it's actually quite far along and is already fun to play they also stated that they were just finishing up on a class basically all they are doing now and some finishing touches a few more maps but its all battle.net stuff mostly i really wouldnt be surprised to see it this year although its unlikely but its not going to be any longer than winter 2009 because its been in development a long time and although its been restarted they have all the ideas they just need to make them fun
I don't know if this holds any water, but 1up.com is saying the release date will be September 30th 2009.
My guess is that it will after that even... http://www.1up.com/do/gameOverview?cId=3138257
If this is true it would be awesome. But there are chances its some time right before or more likely after blizzcon. Or if they are feeling good during it and everyone who attends gets a free copy.
i want it to come out soon but i dont think it is.cause they r only done with 2 out of 8 chars & 4 out of 16 genders & 2 acts i hope they have more acts and higher max lvl that would realy make the wait for the release worth while.
^ They have all the classes. They stated that somewhere but i cant remember. They just didn't reveal and prob wont till blizzcon or so. They were also only doing the gameplay thing to show what its like. I'm pretty sure they have way more than just that done.

So I guess the CONTEST is off, because someone thought it would be a good idea to merge my thread with an old one... sorry guys, I guess I am going to have to keep that juicy surprise.

As much as I'd hate to say it, I think 2010 is still a pretty hopeful estimate. I'd guess that it will be 2011 before we see this game. Also, remember that more often than not Blizzard doesn't release it's games on the originally announced date. Most of the time they get delayed at least a couple months. Not hating on Blizzard or anything, they make the best damn games, just saying.
^ 2010? I highly doubt it. Though it could be a possibility. For Now im still sticking with start of 2009, or very end of december 2008. If they feel like pulling another SCII wait thing then i guess i have to play more D2 or so till then maybe even check out SCII.
"You have already grasped that Sisyphus is the absurd hero. He is, as much through his passions as through his torture. His scorn of the gods, his hatred of death, and his passion for life won him that unspeakable penalty in which the whole being is exerted toward accomplishing nothing. This is the price that must be paid for the passions of this earth. Nothing is told us about Sisyphus in the underworld. Myths are made for the imagination to breathe life into them."
I'm sorry, I hate to be the nay-sayer here, but you three should not get your hopes up, especially not for December 2008. They just announced the game, they haven't even announced the rest of the classes as well as so many other mechanics and aspects of the game. And after all that, we'll still have Beta testing to go through and bugs to work out, and that's still a very generous estimate of the work that probably needs to be done on this game still.
Also, as I said before Blizz always pulls the "SC2 waiting thing" I don't think I've seen a single Blizzard game released (that I can remember) that was released on the originally announced release date. They always push it back, but better to have a game that is a couple months late and kickass than a game full of bugs.
the more they push the dates back on their games the higher the pressure is to get the next ones out promptly. That's probably why they waited over five years to announce the game.
I figure StarCraft will be on store shelves around February 2009 and I put Diablo a little over a year after that and giving time for bilzzard to push back the date I say May -June 2010.
The Devs said they are preety much addin gin minor stuff and then just adding in game content such as putting stuff to gether fixing bugs making eah character class polished...etc.. so i predict middle 09 maybe if we are luky early 09

Not even Death will save you from Diablo Bunny's Cuteness!
Q2 - Q3 of 2009, because with the success of game releases of this summer i don't think companies will fear the summer like in previous years plus its d3 there's going to be thousands if not millions of fans flocking to buy the much over due game (WoW has taken a large fan base from d2), also blizzard isn't one to tease with videos 2-3 years prior to a release like many other developers. Also, i believe Starcraft 2 delays have little impact on d3 because starcraft 2 was delayed for more polishing and work with the bnet 2.0 system.
i'm hoping for...early 2009 or christmas 2008 considering they've been working on this version for like five years and working on diablo 3 in general for much, much longer.
