Now I agree with all the people complaining about the cartoony look of D3, and i found this on another forum and felt that it matched the Diablo series MUCH better the current trailers and gameplay footage...
Many would agree with Plankton's interpretation of how D3 should look but in reality, the entire world is not always dark and depressing. I think there will be enough caverns, caves, dungeons and corrupted monasteries that will be dark and dingy. However, I do hope that there isn't too many 'bright' places as the mood of the game IS supposed to be one that indicates a level of dispair and hopelessness against the powers of evil.
From the looks it prob wont be hard to just filter the graphics with an option or mod. What they did there was just remove a little color and make it possibly more grainy
But all of this was true. And it's especailly important that Diablo has these dark environments, Diablo being the friggin lord of terror. The edited picture truly shows how it's SUPPOSED to look.
However, I agree we ain't seen nuff yet to judge this game. And I'm sure it'll rock even with "catroon graphix".
Color Filters? You could ask blizzard to include the option, it wouldn't be hard to do, whats the point about complaining to us? We aren't blizzard!
Also it was a demo, how wouldn it look playing normal diablo light radius on screens that size?
You'd barely be able to see all the action, let alone some of the wicked details.
After 20 years of no evils, you can't expect the world to still be bloody with dead bodies littered everywhere. In Diablo II, Diablo had marched throughout the areas, killing many on his way.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.

Don't suppose you people ever considered they lightened up the cinematics so you could see what's going on better?
Any of you aware how Alphas and Beta work.
Ever remotely considered the possibility they might darken it up in an Alpha or a Beta?

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
It's not like people are saying "screw this, game is too bright, game sux, no buy".
I have read that here. Amongst the spam and flood.
Logic? GTFO.
I'm sorry. Logic, fact and reason is my calling. I don't see why I should have to spam and flood and post non sensical stuff because everyone else does.

When WarCraft 3 was revealed = It's cartoony! StarCraft 2 reveal = It's cartoony and bright! Now Diablo 3 and it's also getting the "OMG CARTOON!"

In regards to the pictures: So, the solution here is to throw a crappy gritty texture over the entire game to make it "dark," right? Gotcha.
Apparently the world can't change after 20 years. Who knew?
