Anyways, my greatest fear for D3 would for the economy become completely shittered like it is in D2 from duping and bot-running.
That would be a really bad thing to happen epically in the first few years it could ruin it completely. I also have a big fear of a site like d2jsp taking over the economy of the game like it did with d2. It really is a terrible way to do business on d2, I really hope d3 doesnt have something similar happen
though i trust blizzard , im afraid of a over-all WoW influence, whether it be graphics or the gameplay. Im not that afraid of a diablo mmo( though i would hope not) Im just afraid of a diablo WoW type mmo.

Yeah I can see where your coming from. They know the WoW formula is successful and lets not forget that the first thing on there minds is profit, and well WoW certainly generates enough of that for them....I gues it would only make sence to use that style again if it means more income for them
The first thing on their minds is not profit. It is to make the game good enough for their fans and enjoyable to play.
That's how you make the profit, but a company is a company and right now the money is in the mmo business, so we should somewhat keep are minds open to diablo being a mmo, though i would hope it wouldnt. Though even if it is or isnt i would expect high quility from blizzard
i fear that its going to be too cartoony, not enough blood and gore, not enough items, that gold is going to be worth too much, that the game wont be balanced, that the hdin wont exist, not dark enough, not dirty enough, not evil enough, and not scary enough, and too politically correct to be a fun game.
i also fear greatly that they will totally fucking massacre the story

I agree.
*sigh* I pray to the Heaven's that this does NOT happen.

Watching 240 guys talk trash about cavaliers is like two retards having a slapfight over a sippy cup.
a high end raiding progression thing would really suck
seriously idk if i have to pay and im personally hoping its going to be an mmo to replace wow
but try to make the game less linear and give players different ways to progress at high levels so that there is lots of different ways to become powerful and well geared
hope there is skill in the game too and its not just a my 1010 spell damage lets me kill you because you only have 1009 spell damage.
and yeah, dont hold back on graphics, age of conan looked crap and it needed significant hardware. make the game look better than crysis imo and make everyone get 3k computers lol
and guild citys are a great way for a guild to contend in pvp. letting players join multiple guilds and have territory carved up to player factions is great (look at eve online and the massive factions that declare war on each other)
diablo 2 might have been about progressing through acts and killing a boss at the end of each one but d3 will be nothing like d2 gameplay wise. also all the prime evils are dead so prehaps d3 could be a like a really dark world after the prime evils have died and its more about human darkness than big baddys from hell. but under the surface that old evil is biding its time to strike again.

Diablo 3 has supposedly been in the works for 6-8 years... and the MMO market simply wasn't back then what it is today. Also, Blizzard was taking a risk back then when they created WoW, using a genre that Blizzard has never used before, the MMO. For this reason I highly doubt that Diablo 3 will be a MMO because I find it very unlikely that Blizzard would take such a risk with two separate games in foreign territory without being able to test or gage the success of either one.

Very good point. If there going to announce D3 Id say it will be in the vein of the previous ones with probably enough mmo elements to make it perfect to make that transistion for when wow bites the dust.
This could be why it has taken so long to make D3, perhaps early on it was to be like D2, but after the release of WoW they decided to redo it, that wouldn't surprise me. Either way, blizz has spent a lot of time on D3 and i know it's gonna be that shit. I mean i doubt they're gonna release a patch within 6 months. Look at companies like EA that patch their games like 10x within the first year. Bliz doesn't let that happen! They wont Fck D3 up, they know what they're doing. . .jsut sit back and wait for D3. . . It'll be here. . . *goes back to the corner, rocks back and fourth and mumbles uncontrolably*

Basically like all have said... WoW-Clone... I would hate to see that. Vanilla, Classic WoW, was great and fun, it started going downhill with the Honor System change and TBC... Arena/Resilience and focus on balancing Arena by nerfing everything killed the game for me.
Pay to Play, isn't that bad. I have said before, the monthly payments ensures updates/support/servers. Battle.net has been GREAT considering its free, but who wouldn't pay for constant support, updates, Zero Cheats and dedicated servers? I know I would, but I would be happy with battle.net again if they do not offer P2P.
to be honest, my greatest fear with diablo is that it will be turned into kiddy crap like wow, i mean, i like wow, but i would have loved it if it was more mature oriented, with diablo, the first one stuck me in that horrid demonic world, just they bloody gore and nudity. its truly demonic and you were the one purifying it, especially taking example from the first one, and to stick to the whole atmophere, induced with awesome gameplay of D2, just deeper than d2 rather then epic. (unlike bloody hell gate - god that was a didssapointment almost as bad as alundra 2.... nothign is as bad as that....)i dont fear it never comming out.
cause ultimatly diablo will come out, blizzard would be insane not to do anything with it. after all its a company possibly, growing to a corporation with there sucess in the later years. so thats a definate since profits will be there major concern.

good point, you also have to take in the fact that no company wants to rely on one thing to much, it's good business to diverse the way you make money.
Blizzard will do what Blizzard always does, quality over long periods of time. D3 will be what we all want it to be. Dark, scary, something that sends a chill up all our spines.
