Monsters respawn in Hardcore mode. You can still go to the same area and kill new monsters every time you save and exit.

your opinion doesn't count, sorry.
I am a potential buyer, therefore, it does count (just as your opinion does). And I am certainly not alone, too. A pretty big heap of people who bought D2 got disappointed in how crooked it came out compared to D1. Whether or not respawning is good or bad is debatable, but I stand on the side against runs.

How did WoW ruin D2?
World of Warcraft and the LOD expansion were released relatively close in time. They began to put all of their effort into building WoW and severely neglected the Starcraft and Diablo servers and fans. It took a long time to get the 1.10 patch and when I applied it, I was no longer able to play in Hell mode at all. Not even in the Blood Moor with my level 88 Sorceress with max protection that I had completed Hell mode with. I did not have her power leveled or artificially advanced in any way. She had massive protection and defense and had been wandering through Hell for weeks. I was pissed: I mean I was highly pissed. I had to go back to nightmare to play without dying every few minutes. I was out of the game before the 1.11 patch was released. The servers were always completely messed up, or severely unstable, because of all the people who were running hacks and bots. They stayed that way for long periods of time. Meanwhile, Blizzard is already releasing expansions for their precious World of Warcraft, and leaving Starcraft and Diablo primarily untended, and have left us that way since the patch 1.11b. Last year they finally gave Starcraft a bisquit instead of crumbs. We still have nothing. If you have three children, and you do everything for one of them, and little to nothing for the other two, the other two will begin to get jealous after a while then that jealousy festers. That is how Warcraft ruined D2. Of course, it really wasn't Warcraft that ruined D2, but Blizzard itself.
Now D2 is too old and worn to expand. It has to be a new game, but I would hope a lot of the D2 gameplay aspects, the pc/npc interactions, and the current characters remain from D2 with only a small advance in graphics. Playing EverQuest has taught me to hate clip planes. Diablo was so cool! He looked cool! Battling with him was awsome. You had to keep moving or you would end up in a bone cage hoping you still have a portal scroll left. I've never had such a mesmerizing time with a video game than I've had with D2. There is so much potential in that game. Obviously, Blizzard doesn't see it.
Blizzard announced in game voice chat ? I've never seen that implemented in a Hack N Slash before. Maybe they plan on having intricate PvP matches.
Nope, sorry. But I just assumed since they're really trying to get people to play this game cooperatively, that they'd include something that's becoming standard fare on games where you play with others.
Time will tell.

It's time to welcome the other 80% of the color wheel to a Diablo game.
You prefer a little expantion, over a game that will look amazing and be 390x bigger...
Christ....
actually D3 will be roughly the same size as D2, as stated by Blizzard. But yes, a new D2 expansion is pointless because the game is on it's last breath. I still play it and I can admit that.
Everyone wants an expansion. They want an upgraded pretty Diablo 2. They whine and moan and groan about every change, then turn around and say they want a new game. They don't. They want a pretty expansion.

Sounds like you want a SNES fighting game..
Now that the game is ruined I want totally new one.

Also, who's ready for some in-game mic chat?

Rather have D3 not another D2 expansion.
I for one am ready for a new game...
100%, without a doubt, insane.
