I vote for 3d landscapes and characters (i guess similar to how sc2 is shaping up) but Diablo IMO definitely has to have an isometric view. Make it so you can zoom in / zoom out and rotate, but definitely top-down.
AGREE , 2.5D, With Char appearance, enemy detail enhanced. If they go 3d like WoW it will destroy the series, D1,D2 worked just fine with that overhead 2.5D style, they wouldn't dream of tampering with that. If it ain't broken.......;)
I'm 13, it's illegal in the U.S. Plus, I'm saving for a computer and for a car when I grow up.
If you can't buy a pack of cigarettes you shouldn't be playing games with monthly charges on them IMO. Don't waste your youth on this your only young once. I may sound like a dick but whatever.
Remember the cow level in diablo 2? I remember shooting off nova's causing all the cows to show a shock animation.
So now imagine 40+ cows on the screen at the same time all playing a moo sound and then you show off a fancy looking nova that causes lighting and animation effects on all cows.
If Diablo were to look like Assassins creed, or have seriously good 3D graphics, one of two things would happen
1) We would get a world devoid of monsters. Maybe 10 to 15 enemies per screen and I bet even that would be taxing on some systems considering the skills
2) It would run like SHIT
Personally I would prefer Titan Quest-like graphics as they looked gorgeous and the game played pretty well considering how many enemies you could have on the screen at one time.
Diablo 2 is like 7 years old now... I still play it and think it looks good. So graphics to me have nothing to do with the game and if they look better than average than I consider it a plus. Gameplay is what I am mainly looking for.

I have yet to play that game. If you could explain a little more or show a screenshot of the engines capability with lighting effects, crazy animations, and a multitude of monsters on the screen at one time I would be happy to agree with you.
Oh man, they WILL fix it if it's not broken.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.

And Havok is the answer.
Just don't make it LOONEY TUNES: SPECIAL EDITION

Oh well, we shall see.
As for the Assassin's Creed allusion, Ubisoft is located in the city where I actually live; and a friend of mine works at Ubisoft, lucky him.

Age of Conan
